The Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) has announced an increase in the price of gold in the country’s market. The price of one ‘bhori’ (11.664 grams), considered of the best quality, has been Decrese to 1750 Bangladeshi Taka. The price of 22-carat gold per bhori is now 1,10,691 Bangladeshi Taka, which was previously 1,12,441 Taka.

This information was disclosed in a notice issued by Masudur Rahman Sowd, the chairman of the permanent committee for price determination and monitoring at BAJUS, on Thrusday (18 January). It has been announced that this will be effective from Friday (19 January) by the Bangladesh Jewelers Association

  • 18-carat gold per bhori: 90,571 Taka (current). Previously it was 92,029 Taka. The price has Decrese by 1,458 Taka per bhori.
  • 21-carat gold per bhori: 1,05,676 Taka (current). Previously it was 1,07,676 Taka. The price has Decrese by 1,633 Taka per bhori.
  • 22-carat gold per bhori (11.664 grams): 1,10,691 Taka (current). Previously it was 1,12,441 Taka. The price has Decrese by 1,750 Taka per bhori.
  • Traditional method gold per bhori: 75,466 Taka (current). Previously it was 76,632 Taka. The price has Decrese by 1,166 Taka per bhori.
