Here’s what you can expect with today’s Gold Coast weather

As summer moves towards autumn what can locals expect today? We have the latest word from the Weather Bureau.

At 3am today, expect an unpleasantly warm and humid day, with a dew point of 23.5. It is likely to feel like 29.2 with a relative humidity of 91 per cent.

The highest expected temperature today is 30, which is 1 degree lower than yesterday’s max.

Today’s maximum is the highest the mercury will climb over the next seven days, according to the forecast.

The chance of rain today is 80 per cent.

There is a similar chance of showers tomorrow with the Bureau of Meteorology forecasting a high (80 per cent) chance of rain.

The UV index is predicted to be 13. There is an extreme risk of harm from sun exposure. Unprotected skin can burn within minutes in today’s conditions. Experts suggest looking for shade and avoiding sun exposure around noon. General advice is to take all precautions such as using eye protection, sunscreen and covering up.

Winds will be south-southeast around 22 km/h in the morning increasing to south-southeast around 32 km/h in the afternoon.
