USD/JPY tests key resistance at 159.50 – 160.00 as traders focus on the fundamental weakeness of the Japanese currency. However, traders remain cautious as BoJ may intervene to provide additional support to the yen.
If USD/JPY climbs above the 160.00 level, it will head towards the next resistance level at 161.50 – 162.00. A move above 162.00 will open the way to the test of the 164.00 level.

Welcome, my fellow traders! I have prepared a price forecast for the USCrude, XAUUSD, and EURUSD using a combination of the margin zones method and technical analysis. Based on the market analysis, I suggest entry signals for intraday traders.
Oil prices continued to rise yesterday.
The article covers the following subjects:
Yesterday, the oil rally continued. As a result, the price reached the second bullish target of 83.54. The asset pierced this level but was unable to stay above it. The next bullish target is the upper Target Zone of 86.82–85.61. If this zone is breached, the next target will be the Gold Zone of 90.05–89.64.
If a downward correction begins, the oil price can fall to the support zone A at 80.73–80.32. Once this zone is tested, long trades can be considered, with the first target at 82.54 and the second one near today’s high of 84.77.
Buy near support A of 80.73–80.32. TakeProfit: 82.54, 84.7. StopLoss: 79.30.
Gold is maintaining its short-term uptrend. The primary bullish target is at 4,449. If the price exceeds this level, it will likely reach the Target Zone 2 of 4,493–4,472.
Long trades can be considered during a pullback at the support A of 4,347–4,336, once it is tested and a buy pattern emerges. In this case, the first target will be 4,393, and the second one will be 4,449.
Buy near support A of 4,347–4,336. TakeProfit: 4,393, 4,449. StopLoss: 4,319.
Yesterday, the euro remained within the upper Target Zone of 1.1601–1.1576. Today, the price is declining during a correction. If the asset reaches the support zone A at 1.1530–1.1521, long trades can be considered, with the first target at 1.1568 and the second one around 1.1614.
If the EURUSD pair breaks below the support A, the correction will extend toward the trend boundary of 1.1488–1.1475. Once the trend boundary is tested, long trades can be considered.
Buy near support A of 1.1530–1.1521. TakeProfit: 1.1568, 1.1614. StopLoss: 1.1499.

The Euro to Dollar exchange rate (EUR/US) tradd around 1.1579 on Monday, close to its August high of 1.1585 and around 0.2% higher for the month.
EUR/USD has recovered from June’s low near 1.1325 but remains well below January’s 1.2075 peak.

Bank of America FX strategists say its “near-term bullish USD conviction has reduced”, although the conditions are not yet in place for a decisive bearish Dollar stance.
US data have surprised on the downside and September Fed tightening expectations have fallen sharply, but EUR/USD has still “struggled to rally further”.
The bank argues that Middle East uncertainty is part of the explanation, with elevated European gas prices “capping EUR appreciation”.
Positioning has also changed.
BofA says reduced Euro shorts mean there is now less fuel for a squeeze higher, while markets may find it difficult to price out Fed hikes completely with another round of labour-market and inflation data due before September.
Fed Chair Kevin Warsh’s Jackson Hole speech is therefore an important near-term test, with BofA expecting markets to focus closely on any clarification of the Fed’s communication strategy.

The Exchange Rates UK Research Sentiment Survey for August 2026 remains mildly constructive beyond the near term.
BofA sees EUR/USD around 1.15 in three months, 1.17 in six months and 1.20 in twelve months.
That would leave the pair close to current levels initially, before a more meaningful Euro recovery develops further into 2027.

Platinum price continues to consolidate below the resistance level at $1,785.00. However, the ongoing conflict between the main indicators has pushed the price into another period of sideways fluctuation, keeping it stable near $1,750.00, as clearly shown on the attached chart.
We emphasize the importance of gathering additional negative momentum, to reinforce the previously suggested bearish bias to begin targeting the downside levels, initially moving toward $1,685.00 and $1,642.00, while breaching the resistance and holding above it will open the way for the bullish attack to target $1820.00 initially, followed by $1865.00.
The expected trading range for today is between $1685.00 and $1770.00
Trend forecast: Bearish
The pair took advantage of its repeated stability above the 55-period moving average, forming new bullish waves and currently settling near the first additional target at 184.80, which may in turn form a temporary obstacle to the bullish advance.
The price may currently be forced into some sideways trading. However, with the main indicators continuing to provide positive momentum and overall stability above the support level at 183.15, these factors encourage us to maintain the bullish bias, which may soon target 185.45. A breakout above this obstacle would extend the trading toward 185.95.
The expected trading range for today is between 184.25 and 185.45
Trend forecast: Bullish

World coffee prices
In the world market, coffee prices increased on both the London and New York exchanges.
On the London exchange, the September 2026 Robusta futures contract increased by 49 USD/ton, equivalent to 1.35%, to 3,670 USD/ton. The November 2026 futures increased by 50 USD/ton, equivalent to 1.39%, to 3,644 USD/ton.
Further terms also increased. Robusta in January 2027 increased by 52 USD/ton, to 3,628 USD/ton; March 2027 term increased by 49 USD/ton, to 3,603 USD/ton; May 2027 term increased by 47 USD/ton, to 3,582 USD/ton.
On the New York exchange, the September 2026 Arabica contract increased by 7 US cents/lb, equivalent to 2.07%, to 345.10 US cents/lb. The December 2026 contract increased by 3.60 US cents/lb, to 317.90 US cents/lb.
The terms for March, May and July 2027 also increased by 3 US cents/lb, 2.35 US cents/lb and 1.70 US cents/lb respectively.
Coffee price assessment
Domestic coffee prices increased sharply after a period of adjustment, in the same direction as positive developments in the world market. The increase of Robusta London by more than 1% is a noteworthy factor for Vietnamese coffee prices, because Robusta is the main commodity group of the domestic market.
According to Barchart, coffee prices increased due to concerns about global supply, in which Brazil’s coffee harvest progress was slower than the same period. Safras & Mercado said Brazil’s 2026-2027 coffee harvest reached 90% as of August 12, lower than 97% in the same period last year and the 5-year average of 94%. Barchart also recorded Arabica certified inventories on ICE falling to a 2.75-year low, while Robusta inventories increased to a 5-month high.
Domestically, the increase of 1,700-1,800 VND/kg helped coffee prices regain some of the previous decline. However, the current level is still only around 97,000 VND/kg, lower than the high price zone recorded at the end of July and the beginning of August.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, in July, Vietnam exported about 147,600 tons of coffee, worth 639.5 million USD. Accumulated in the first 7 months of the year, coffee exports reached about 1.2 million tons, an increase of 10.8% in volume but turnover decreased by 11.2%, to 5.45 billion USD. This development is mainly due to the average export price decreasing by 19.9% compared to the same period, down to 4,537 USD/ton.
Regarding the weather, the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that on the day and night of August 18, the Central Highlands area will have showers and thunderstorms in some places; especially in the afternoon and night there will be showers, scattered thunderstorms, locally heavy rain. Lowest temperature 21-24 degrees C, in some places below 20 degrees C; highest 26-29 degrees C, in some places above 29 degrees C.
Rainstorms in this season need to be monitored in terms of garden care, pest and disease prevention, and goods preservation.
In comparison to the U.S. dollar, the euro has a stronger monetary policy backdrop. According to a Reuters survey, 57 of 69 economists expected the ECB to raise its deposit rate of 2.50 percent in September, while inflation continues to be above the ECB’s target of 2 percent. Policy divergence in favor of the euro continues to increase as the expectations surrounding the Fed’s policy continue to decline.
Sterling is also benefiting from policy divergence. UK growth for the second quarter was at 0.4 percent, and the Bank of England’s Chief Economist, Huw Pill, indicated that the recent growth that was also in excess of expectations, is a good reason for policy to be tightened. Currently markets are calling for at least one additional hike by the BoE in 2026. New data on the labor market and inflation in the U.K. will be released this week that will be useful in evaluating this position.
The main issue for all three currencies is the Middle East. Renewed U.S.-Iran tensions and ongoing disruptions through the Strait of Hormuz pose risks for another energy-related inflation shock, which could once again bring expectations of tighter policy if price pressures begin to accelerate.
Copper price touched the $6.6900 level during its latest bullish surge before making a temporary corrective rebound, currently stabilizing near $6.5200. This comes amid the Stochastic indicator fluctuating below the 50 level, which contrasts with the positive stance of the 55-period moving average.
We note that repeated stability above the current ascending minor channel support at $6.4500, in addition to the $6.4000 level forming a strong barrier against the current downside movements, supports the bullish scenario. This should facilitate the price’s upcoming advance toward $6.7000, followed by the next target near $6.8500.
The expected trading range for today is between $6.4500 and $6.6200
