The Timeless Elixir: A Journey Through Tea
The beverage, tea, said to be second only to water in popularity worldwide, has crossed over time and time zones and found itself an indispensible companion to millions. Dating back its use in China, tea has grown to be a drink with unique flavors, health enhancing benefits, and added cultural importance.
There are six primary types of tea: green, black, white, oolong, yellow, and pu-erh, all of which is originated from the plant called Camellia sinensis. This is due to the processing techniques that define the functionality of the food in respect to taste, smell and even hue. Green tea is non-stunning, herbaceous-flavored and is containing a large amount of antioxidants and black tea is full-bodied, malty tea which is served with milk and sugar. And the semi-oxidized oolong tea gained popularity for those who like to have the tea taste in-between green and black.
As for tea, there is tradition aside from its taste. In Japan, for instance, doing a drink such as the tea ceremony is significant of being mindful and showing respect. In Britain, it has turned into a tradition in which people take tea during the afternoon, and scones and sandwiches are served. Every culture prefers to have their norms, and yet the simplest thing that knits individuals together is tea, that’s the language of human interaction.
