Sabinsa announces it has acquired Ayurvedic brand Nature’s Formulary
In a February 3, 2025, press release, international health science company Sabinsa announced it had acquired the brand Nature’s Formulary, an Ayurvedic products company. Additionally, PK Davé, the founder and president of Nature’s Formulary, has been named the CEO of Sabinsa’s Consumer Goods Division, which will focus on wellness products including the brands America’s Finest, Inc (AFI) and Sanutra, along with Nature’s Formulary.
Founded in 1988, Sabinsa manufactures and supplies nutraceutical and cosmeceutical ingredients, probiotics, minerals, enzymes, and specialty and fine chemicals, marketing over 120 standardized botanical extracts. Nature’s Formulary is noted in the press release as one of the most experienced Ayurvedic companies in the US, having been founded 30 years ago.
“We are thrilled to welcome Nature’s Formulary into the Sabinsa family,” stated Shaheen Majeed, MBA, D.Litt, Global CEO & Managing Director, Sami-Sabinsa Group, in the press release. “This acquisition represents a significant milestone in our long-term strategy to further strengthen Sabinsa’s leadership in the natural products industry. By integrating Nature’s Formulary’s expertise in Ayurvedic formulations with Sabinsa’s advanced research and development capabilities, we are uniquely positioned to drive innovation and continue to deliver high-quality, transformative wellness solutions to our global customer base for years to come.”
Shaheen Majeed was recently recognized by Nutritional Outlook‘s 2024 Best of the Industry Awards in the Industry Leader category.
Nature’s Formulary integrates the principles of Ayurveda into its products, which are vegan, gluten-free, made from non-GMO ingredients, and manufactured in FDA-inspected facilities in the US. The website offers additional educational resources for achieving long-term health, such as personalized lifestyle recommendations.
“This acquisition is a direct reflection of the dedication and hard work of the entire Nature’s Formulary team,” added P K Davé. “Partnering with Sabinsa presents an incredible opportunity to leverage their global presence and robust infrastructure, while significantly expanding Nature’s Formulary’s impact in the dietary supplement industry. We are confident that our combined strengths will accelerate our mission to promote holistic health and wellness through Ayurvedic products. Together, we will unlock new opportunities and create lasting value for our loyal customers and partners worldwide. We can leverage the presence of Nature’s Formulary in health food stores to tell the Sabinsa story, bringing our products to an even wider audience and deepening the impact of our combined vision for natural health solutions.”
In January 2025, Sabinsa had also shared two more leadership team announcements: Asha Ramesh was promoted to CEO Americas, and Jan Obirek advanced to VP of Sales for US and Canada.
