The Best Time Of Day To Take CoQ10 For Health Benefits

By |2025-03-14T13:19:59+02:00March 14, 2025|Dietary Supplements News, News|0 Comments

CoQ10 is touted as something of a wonder supp, capable of improving heart health, boosting fertility, reducing migraines, and even helping endurance athletes recover better. While there’s solid scientific research to back up the benefits for those with cardiovascular disease, evidence to support the other claims is limited, says Zachary Mulvihill, MD. That said, the coenzyme could help in those areas and more.

To back up, CoQ10 is a molecule made naturally in the body that’s also found in food and supplement form. “CoQ10 helps the mitochondria (the powerhouse of the cell) function optimally and produce ATP, or energy,” says Aarti Soorya, MD. “Mitochondria are heavily concentrated in the heart, muscle, and brain, and optimal levels of CoQ10 can help with the demand of energy production in these highly metabolic organs.” So, it makes sense as to why supplementing with the stuff might help in the aforementioned scenarios. And for the most part, CoQ10 supplementation is pretty harmless, per Dr. Mulvihill. (See below for a few exceptions.)

Meet the experts: Zachary Mulvihill, MD, is an integrative medicine specialist at NewYork-Presbyterian and Weill Cornell Medicine. Aarti Soorya, MD, is an integrative medicine physician at Grover Health.

Considering giving CoQ10 supplements a shot? If you have cleared it with your doc, you might be interested in optimizing your results by taking it at the ideal time and in the ideal scenario. Read on for all the best practices.

When To Take CoQ10 For Maximum Health Benefits

Time Of Day

“I usually recommend taking it in the morning when you are more active and when your energy requirements are naturally higher,” says Dr. Soorya.

There are also some claims that taking it before bed might keep you up, but Dr. Mulvihill doesn’t think there’s much merit to those. The key, he says, is taking it at the time of day when you’ll remember to do so consistently.

With Food Vs. On An Empty Stomach

“Usually, CoQ10 should be taken with a meal that contains fat to allow for best absorption, as it is a fat soluble nutrient,” Dr. Soorya explains. So if you’re taking it with breakfast, you could include some avocado or full-fat Greek yogurt, for example.

Dr. Mulvhill adds that taking it with food also helps ward off nausea, if you’ve experienced that after taking vitamins or supplements on an empty stomach.

Individually Vs. With Other Supplements

If you already take a fish oil supplement, take the two at the same time. “If someone takes fish oil anyway, that’s a source of fat,” Dr. Mulvihill says, adding that it could be wise to take those two supplements together as the fish oil could help you absorb the CoQ10.

Pre- Or Post-Workout

After taking your CoQ10 supplement, it takes a little time for the nutrient to get absorbed into your system, Dr. Mulvihill says. So it probably doesn’t matter if you take it around a workout, he adds. It’s not like caffeine, for example, where you take it an hour or so pre-workout and then use it during your workout.

How Much CoQ10 To Take

You’ll typically see CoQ10 supplements ranging from 30 to 600 milligrams (and in research, they might use up to 1200 milligrams), Dr. Mulvihill says. To find the ideal dose for you, it’s best to chat with your doctor. But Dr. Mulvhill says 100-120 milligrams once per day is likely a good starting place. (For those who are sensitive to supplements, you could start even lower at 30 mg, says Dr. Soorya.) “That just seems to be the sweet spot standard,” Dr. Mulvihill says. “Anything beyond that would strictly need to be done under medical supervision.”

When adding a CoQ10 supplement, 100-120 milligrams daily is a good starting place.

You’ll also see CoQ10 in a few forms—ubiquinol and ubiquinone, for example. “Ubiquinol is the more bioavailable form of CoQ10,” Dr. Soorya says—meaning it circulates quickest once it hits the body, and will have a more active effect. That said, if you take ubiquinone, your body will convert it into the premium gas version, ubiquinol, per Dr. Mulvihill, so it probably doesn’t matter so much which form you take. More important, he says, is that it’s from a reputable brand that is third-party tested.

FWIW, food is not really a good source of CoQ10, Dr. Mulvihill notes, but if you’re curious, meat and fatty fish have higher amounts of it than most other foods, and soybeans are a high-ish plant-based source. “But I don’t recommend that the person who has heart failure, who needs CoQ10, eat a bunch of meat and fish and soybeans,” Dr. Mulvihill says. “They should just take the supplement.”

How long will it take to notice benefits of CoQ10 supplementation? It can take several weeks to months, Dr. Soorya says, and works best as part of a holistic plan that includes proper nutrition and good sleep. Even then, it’ll likely be a subtle benefit, but one you might notice if you stop taking it, Dr. Mulvihill notes. For this reason, he recommends taking it for a few months, then taking a couple of weeks off to see how you feel.

Who Should (And Shouldn’t) Take CoQ10

Dr. Mulvihill says the main use-case for CoQ10 is for people with heart disease. He also might consider it for people with high blood pressure, migraines, diabetes, fibromyalgia, gingivitis, and those thinking about fertility, especially if they’re older.

“Our CoQ10 stores can decline as we age,” says Dr. Soorya, but it’s unclear whether this drop is due to aging itself or pro-inflammation lifestyle factors (e.g., a lack of sleep, processed foods, unmanaged stress) that deplete antioxidants. Again, though, while it might not help, a CoQ10 supplement is unlikely to cause harm, per the experts.

Potential Risks Of CoQ10 Supplementation

While CoQ10 is generally safe, per Dr. Mulvihill, it’s always wise to speak with your doctor before adding any new supplement to your routine.

In particular, people with conditions such as congestive heart failure and/or who are taking any medications, such as blood thinning, blood pressure, or insulin medications, among others, should definitely get their doctor’s blessing as CoQ10 can interact with certain medications. Dr. Soorya adds that for people with liver and kidney issues (where supplements are cleared from) it could be potentially harmful to take supplements unsupervised.

Most side effects are mild, Dr. Mulvihill says, but might include nausea or diarrhea, for example.

XRP Price Prediction for March 13

By |2025-03-14T13:16:03+02:00March 14, 2025|Crypto News, News|0 Comments

U.Today – Most of the coins are growing today, according to CoinStats.

The price of XRP has risen by 6.65% over the last 24 hours.

On the hourly chart, the rate of XRP has made a false breakout of the local resistance of $2.3428. However, if the daily bar closes around that mark, one can expect a test of the $2.40 area shortly.

On the bigger time frame, the price of XRP is far from key levels.

If the situation does not change by the end of the day, ongoing sideways trading in the narrow range of $2.20-$2.40 is the most likely scenario.

From the midterm point of view, one should focus on the vital $2 zone. If sellers’ pressure continues and the candle closes below the mentioned mark, the breakout may lead to decline to the $1.50 level.

XRP is trading at $2.2815 at press time.

GBP/USD Price Analysis: Economic Contraction Weakens Pound

By |2025-03-14T11:20:48+02:00March 14, 2025|Forex News, News|0 Comments

  • The GBP/USD price analysis indicates a weaker UK economy.
  • Data revealed a 0.1% contraction in the UK economy.
  • Market participants expect the Bank of England to keep rates unchanged next week.

The GBP/USD price analysis indicates a weaker UK economy after data revealed an unexpected contraction. Meanwhile, market participants are grappling with the escalating global trade tensions as Trump continues his aggressive policy changes.

–Are you interested to learn more about forex options trading? Check our detailed guide-

The pound pulled back on Friday after data revealed a 0.1% contraction in the UK economy. This followed an expansion of 0.4%. Economists had expected the GDP to increase by 0.1%. The poor report might increase pressure on the Bank of England to lower borrowing costs. However, market participants expect the central bank to keep rates unchanged next week.

The BoE and other major central banks will likely proceed with caution due to uncertainty regarding the impact of Trump’s tariff. The US president has attacked many of its major trading partners with tariffs, igniting trade wars. The UK is yet to feel the pain of these tariffs like Canada and the Eurozone. However, Trump is not done. He intends to keep imposing tariffs that will affect more countries.

Meanwhile, data from the US on Thursday was mixed. Wholesale inflation came in lower than expected. On the other hand, unemployment claims missed forecasts, indicating increased demand for labor. Nevertheless, Fed rate cut expectations have risen significantly due to recent downbeat economic data.

GBP/USD Price Analysis: Economic Contraction Weakens Pound
GBP/USD 4-hour chart

On the technical side, the GBP/USD price has paused its steep rally near the 1.2951 resistance level. Although the price trades above the 30-SMA, it seems ready to break below. Meanwhile, the RSI has made a bearish divergence, indicating weaker bullish momentum.

–Are you interested to learn more about Thailand forex brokers? Check our detailed guide-

The price has maintained a bullish trend, trading mostly above the 30-SMA. However, every now and then, the price has broken below the SMA for a deeper pullback. With this, the uptrend has created a solid support trendline.

Therefore, a break below the SMA would not necessarily indicate a reversal. Instead, the price might need a deeper pullback. A retest of the support trendline will allow bulls to regain momentum and seek new highs. The trend will only reverse when the price breaks below this trendline.

Here is How High Dogecoin May rise After ETF Approval if DOGE Gets 25% to 40% of BTC ETF Inflows

By |2025-03-14T11:15:09+02:00March 14, 2025|Crypto News, News|0 Comments

Dogecoin price could reach new all-time highs if DOGE captures between 25% to 40% of Bitcoin ETF inflows following its ETF approval.

The crypto market is currently witnessing a period of sustained downtrend, and Dogecoin (DOGE), the original meme coin, has not been spared in the bloodbath. DOGE is already down 20% this month following a 38% collapse in February.

Dogecoin ETF Progress Sustains Long-Term Bullishness

Despite the downward trend, with Dogecoin now trading at a pre-Trump presidency low of $0.16, long-term sentiments remain bullish. One of the motivations behind this sustained bullishness is the potential approval of Dogecoin ETF products, especially amid progress with the recent change in SEC leadership.

For instance, the securities regulatory agency acknowledged Grayscale’s filing for a Dogecoin ETF last month. While this acknowledgement did not translate to an outright approval, it set things in motion for the investment product. In addition, last week, the NYSE Arca submitted a 19b-4 filing for the Bitwise Dogecoin ETF.

As asset managers continue to make progress in their Dogecoin ETF filings, the potential impact on Dogecoin price if these products secure approval would depend largely on how they perform. Notably, Ethereum’s price did not react favorably to the launch of ETH ETFs due to low capital inflows.

However, this was not the case with Bitcoin, as the launch of Bitcoin ETFs last year triggered an impressive price run for the firstborn crypto, leading to a new all-time high before the next halving for the first time in the asset’s history. For context, data from Sosovalue confirms that BTC ETFs have commanded up to $35.4 billion in inflows at press time.

Dogecoin Price if DOGE ETFs Secure up to 40% of Bitcoin ETF Inflows

Accordingly, if the Dogecoin products secure approval and replicate even a fraction of Bitcoin’s performance, the impact on Dogecoin price could be massive. For this assessment, The Crypto Basic considers just 25% to 40% performance.

Notably, if Dogecoin ETFs get 25% of Bitcoin ETF inflows after a year in the market, they would command positive netflows worth around $8.85 billion. Applying the Bank of America inflow-to-valuation multiplier of 118x would yield a market cap increase of $1.044 trillion for Dogecoin.

An increase of $1.044 trillion to the meme coin’s already existing market cap leads to a new valuation of $1.067 trillion. With Dogecoin’s circulating supply currently sitting at 148.39 billion tokens, this new market cap translates to a Dogecoin price of $7.1.

Meanwhile, if Dogecoin secures 40% of Bitcoin ETF inflows, it would boast netflows worth $14.16 billion. This inflow would lead to a massive $1.67 trillion increase in market cap when applying the BoA multiplier. Currently, DOGE has a market cap of $23 billion. An additional $1.67 trillion valuation leads to a new market cap of $1.69 trillion.

Now, considering the current circulating supply of 148.39 billion tokens, this new market cap translates to a Dogecoin price of $11.41. Nonetheless, these assessments remain speculative, as there is no guarantee Dogecoin ETFs could secure this much capital inflow.

Interestingly, while these projections remain ambitious, market analyst Ali Martinez predicts a more audacious Dogecoin price of $15 after ETF approval. At press time, Dogecoin currently changes hands at $0.1617, down 19% over the past week.

Coffee Prices Pressured by Rain Forecasts for Brazil

By |2025-03-14T09:29:55+02:00March 14, 2025|Forex News, News|0 Comments

May arabica coffee (KCK25) today is down -4.80 (-1.24%), and May ICE robusta coffee (RMK25) is down -91 (-1.68%).

Coffee prices today extended Thursday’s sharp losses on forecasts for rain in Brazil.   Somar Meteorologia said Thursday that dry and hot weather in Brazil for the rest of this week will give way to several days of showers next week, easing dry conditions.

Commodity Bulletin: From crude oil to coffee, this FREE newsletter is for industry pros and rookies alike

Robusta coffee is also under pressure after Vietnam’s General Statistics Office reported Thursday that Vietnam’s Feb coffee exports rose +6.6% y/y to 169,000 MT.  Also, the outlook for rain in Vietnam is weighing on coffee prices, with forecasts showing a chance of rain every day for the next week in Vietnam’s Central Highlands, the country’s largest coffee-growing region.

A rebound in coffee inventories is bearish for coffee prices after ICE-monitored robusta coffee inventories rose to a 1-month high today of 4,356 lots.  Meanwhile, ICE-monitored arabica coffee inventories slid to a 9-1/4 month low on February 18 at 758,514 bags, although they have since recovered to a 2-week high of 809,128 bags as of last Thursday.

Last Monday,  Somar Meteorologia reported that Brazil’s biggest arabica coffee growing area of Minas Gerais received 11.4 mm the week ended February 22, or 24% of the historical average.  This past Monday’s rain report was delayed by the Brazilian Carnival holiday.  Brazil is the world’s biggest arabica coffee growing country.

In a bullish factor, an increased percentage of Brazil’s coffee harvest has already been sold compared with previous years, meaning less supply is still available.  Safras & Mercado reported last Monday that producers sold 88% of Brazil’s 2024/25 coffee harvest as of February 11, faster than last year’s comparable year-earlier figure of 79% and the 5-year average of 82%.  Meanwhile, sales of the 2025/26 crop have been slow at 13% of the crop, well behind the 4-year average of 22%, which suggests a lack of new supply and an unwillingness of producers to sell.

Continued supply fears have supported coffee prices.  Cecafe reported on February 12 that Brazil’s January green coffee exports fell -1.6% y/y to 3.98 million bags.  Also, on January 28, Conab, Brazil’s government crop forecasting agency, forecasted that Brazil’s 2025/26 coffee crop would fall -4.4% y/y to a 3-year low of 51.81 million bags.  Conab also cut its 2024 Brazil coffee crop estimate by -1.1% to 54.2 million bags from a September estimate of 54.8 million bags.

The impact of dry El Nino weather last year may lead to longer-term coffee crop damage in South and Central America.  Rainfall in Brazil has consistently been below average since last April, damaging coffee trees during the all-important flowering stage and reducing the prospects for Brazil’s 2025/26 arabica coffee crop.  Brazil has been facing the driest weather since 1981, according to the natural disaster monitoring center Cemaden.  Also, Colombia, the world’s second-largest arabica producer, is slowly recovering from the El Nino-spurred drought last year.

Robusta coffee prices are underpinned by reduced robusta production.  Due to drought, Vietnam’s coffee production in the 2023/24 crop year dropped by -20% to 1.472 MMT, the smallest crop in four years.  The USDA FAS on May 31 projected that Vietnam’s robusta coffee production in the new marketing year of 2024/25 will dip slightly to 27.9 million bags from 28 million bags in the 2023/24 season.  In addition, Vietnam’s General Statistics Office reported on January 10 that 2024 Vietnam coffee exports fell -17.1% y/y to 1.35 MMT.  Conversely, the Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association on December 3 raised its 2024/25 Vietnam coffee production estimate to 28 million bags from an October estimate of 27 million bags.

News of larger global coffee exports is bearish for prices.  Conab reported on February 4 that Brazil’s 2024 coffee exports rose +28.8% y/y to a record 50.5 million bags.   However, ICO reported on February 6 that Dec global coffee exports fell -12.4% y/y to 10.73 million bags, and Oct-Dec global coffee exports fell -0.8% y/y to 32.25 million bags.

The USDA’s biannual report on December 18 was mixed for coffee prices.  The USDA’s Foreign Agriculture Service (FAS) projected that world coffee production in 2024/25 will increase +4.0% y/y to 174.855 million bags, with a +1.5% increase in arabica production to 97.845 million bags and a +7.5% increase in robusta production to 77.01 million bags.  The USDA’s FAS forecasts that 2024/25 ending stocks will fall by -6.6% to a 25-year low of 20.867 million bags from 22.347 million bags in 2023/24.  Separately, the USDA’s FAS on November 22 projected Brazil’s 2024/25 coffee production at 66.4 MMT, below its previous forecast of 69.9 MMT.  The USDA’s FAS projects Brazil’s coffee inventories at 1.2 million bags at the end of the 2024/25 season in June, down -26% y/y.

For the 2025/26 marketing year, Volcafe on December 17 cut its 2025/26 Brazil arabica coffee production estimate to 34.4 million bags, down by about 11 million bags from a September estimate after a crop tour revealed the severity of an extended drought in Brazil.  Volcafe projects a global 2025/26 arabica coffee deficit of -8.5 million bags, wider than the -5.5 million bag deficit for 2024/25 and the fifth consecutive year of deficits.

“Japanese Starbucks” Lands in Melbourne

By |2025-03-14T09:18:04+02:00March 14, 2025|Dietary Supplements News, News|0 Comments

For more than two decades, Tokyo-born Nana’s Green Tea has been a staple of Japan’s ever-growing matcha scene. The chain has more than 80 stores in the east Asian country and is often dubbed the Japanese Starbucks. It first arrived in Australia with a store in Chatswood, Sydney. Now the chain has opened its first Melbourne outpost – just as Melbourne’s matcha scene booms with specialty drinks, cosy matcha cafes with hour-long waits and fan accounts.

“We’ve wanted to bring Nana’s here for many years,” says Julie Fong of JC Hospitality Group, which is also behind the Melbourne outposts of Martabak Pecenongan 78 & D’Bakmie and D’Penyetz & D’Cendol. Along with Andy Indra, she led the effort to bring the brand to Melbourne. “It’s a space where people can study, relax, and spend time, and we saw that there was nothing quite like it here,” she adds.

The pair flew staff to Japan for intensive training with Nana’s team in Yokohama. Matcha quality is paramount – the cafe sources its leaves from a farm in Uji, Kyoto, a region renowned for producing some of Japan’s best green tea. Nana’s president Kazuto Kutami even developed what he calls the 360 Kyushu tea brewer, designed to extract the most delicate flavours from each leaf.

The drinks menu is extensive, with a staggering 50 options, including slow-brewed iced matcha and ceremonial-grade matcha topped with vanilla soft serve. Plus, there’s a matcha soft serve latte with chocolate crunch, which Fong says was an “unexpected favourite.”

Despite the number of drinks, the real showstoppers are the eight signature parfaits. These layered desserts feature matcha jelly, nama chocolate (ganache), sweet adzuki beans and warabi mochi (softer, chewier mochi made using starch from bracken, rather than glutinous rice flour, and known for its pannacotta-like wobble). The visually striking treats balance bitter and sweet flavours with a creamy texture.

On the savoury side, the Nana’s has nanban chicken, sukiyaki beef don and ochazuke (a Japanese dish with a tea-based broth poured over a bowl of rice and toppings), all served with a small bowl of miso soup.

Open until 11pm on Friday and Saturday, Nana’s Green Tea is part of a broader shift in Melbourne’s dining culture, where dessert cafes are staying open late and becoming an alternative to bars for those looking to hang out and get a late-night treat without alcohol.

“In Japan, Nana’s is a place where people meet, work, and unwind,” says Indra. “That’s exactly what we want to create here: a space where people can slow down and enjoy good food.” The fit-out reflects this philosophy with its washi paper ceiling, counter seating and charging stations for students and remote workers.

“It’s been incredibly popular,” says Indra. So much so that JC Hospitality has already signed the lease for a second location on Swanston Street. “Melbourne has really embraced matcha culture, and we’re just getting started.”

Weak PPI Signals Lower Rates, Paving the Way for a Crypto Surge

Yesterday’s PPI number came in surprisingly weak—actually deflationary—which I had been expecting. This deflationary read could be the catalyst for a 5th wave pump to all-time highs in #BTC and other crypto assets. Falling inflation and slower growth are likely to drive lower interest rates soon, fueling a robust rally. While the rally isn’t here yet, this trend sets the stage for a significant market move.

Altcoin Rally Gains Momentum Amid SEC Reversal and Trump Endorsement

The SEC appears to be softening its stance on altcoins, coinciding with Trump’s enthusiastic crypto posts and his family’s substantial altcoin and Ethereum accumulation. With Grayscale increasing its ADA allocation and altcoin ETFs on the horizon, the bullish sentiment is growing. Despite inherent volatility, many view these price swings as temporary, expecting a strong bull market when rates fall and liquidity increases. I’ve been bullish on altcoins for years and remain committed to this long-term macro thesis, accepting the market’s ups and downs.
