XAU/USD record rally extends beyond $2,900

By |2025-02-10T22:52:47+02:00February 10, 2025|Forex News, News|0 Comments

XAU/USD Current price: $2,902.98

  • US President Donald Trump gears up for another round of tariffs.
  • Federal Reserve Chairman Powell’s testimony and US inflation coming up next.
  • XAU/USD may correct gains in the near term, but market players seek higher highs.

Risk aversion keeps fueling Gold demand, with the bright metal conquering the $2,900 threshold on Monday. Demand for safety was boosted by comments from United States (US) President Donald Trump, who pledged to impose more tariffs over the weekend.

Speaking to reporters on Air Force One, President Trump said on Sunday he would introduce new 25% tariffs on all steel and aluminium imports into the US while adding that he would soon announce reciprocal tariffs to all countries that levy US goods and services. XAU/USD extended gains towards $2,911.21 during American trading hours, hovering nearby at the time of writing.

Demand for safe-haven assets persists despite the positive tone of equities. The US Dollar (USD) trades with a firmer tone against its high-yielding rivals, while demand for Gold and the Japanese Yen (JPY) exceeds that of the Greenback. Meanwhile, Wall Street holds on to modest intraday gains, although caution prevails as investors await fresh Trump’s headlines.

The focus this week will remain on the US. Federal Reserve (Fed) Chairman Jerome Powell will testify before Congress on Tuesday and Wednesday, with market players looking for fresh clues on the future of monetary policy. Additionally, the US will publish the January Consumer Price Index (CPI) on Wednesday, with the core annual reading foreseen at 3.1%, easing from the 3.2% posted in December.

XAU/USD short-term technical outlook

From a technical point of view, XAU/USD is poised to extend its rally. The daily chart shows it retreated from its fresh peak and trades around the $2,900 mark. Technical indicators maintain their upward slopes well into overbought territory without signs of upward exhaustion. Furthermore, the 20 Simple Moving Average (SMA) accelerated north well above bullish 100 and 200 SMAs while developing roughly $140.00 below the current level. A corrective decline is not out of the picture, yet higher highs lay ahead.

In the near term, and according to the 4-hour chart, XAU/USD is bullish, although a corrective decline is not out of the picture. The Momentum indicator heads firmly north, well above its 100 line, while the Relative Strength Index (RSI) indicator consolidates at around 73. Moving averages, in the meantime, head firmly north, far below the current level, with a bullish 20 Simple Moving Average (SMA) providing intraday support at $2,870.10.

Near Key Support Levels -Chart

By |2025-02-10T22:33:28+02:00February 10, 2025|Forex News, News|0 Comments

  • Recent trades were generally bullish for the Japanese yen against other major currencies, most notably the decline of the US dollar against the Japanese yen pair USD/JPY towards the support level of 150.93.
  • This was the lowest for the currency pair in more than two months, and closed the week’s trading stable around the level of 151.38 after investors reacted to the announcement of US employment figures, which affects the future of the US Federal Reserve’s policy.

Why has the Japanese Yen strengthened recently?

According to recent trades on reliable trading platforms, the Japanese Yen has gained strength against other major currencies with growing expectations that the Bank of Japan will continue to raise interest rates this year. On Thursday last week, Bank of Japan board member Naoki Tamura stated that the central bank should raise the interest rate to at least 1% in the latter part of the 2025 fiscal year. Recent economic data also revealed a 2.7% year-on-year increase in household spending in Japan, which represents the first growth in five months and significantly exceeds the expected 0.2% gain.

In addition, data earlier this week showed that real wages rose for a second straight month in December, with nominal wage growth hitting its highest level in nearly three decades, largely driven by higher winter bonuses. Now, financial markets are speculating that Japan’s annual spring wage negotiations could yield another 5% increase this year.

Trading Tips:

We recommend buying the USD/JPY from any downward level but without taking excessive risk.

US Stock Markets Under Selling Pressure

At the end of last week’s trading, US stock markets were under selling pressure, as concerns about tariffs and inflation escalated again in Wall Street markets. According to stock trading platforms, the Standard & Poor’s 500 index fell by 0.9%, giving up the week’s gains. This is one of the worst declines for the index so far in the new year, but it remains close to the record it set two weeks ago.

According to trading, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell by 444 points, the most prominent of which was a sharp decline in Amazon shares after its latest earnings report, which led to the Nasdaq Composite Index losing a market-leading 1.4%.

Conversely, US Treasury yields rose following a disappointing report on Friday morning that indicated a significant deterioration in sentiment among US consumers. The preliminary report from the University of Michigan showed that US consumers expect inflation to reach 4.3% in the coming year, the highest forecast since 2023. This was a full percentage point higher than what consumers expected a month ago, marking the second consecutive unusually large increase. Economists pointed to the possibility of imposing US tariffs on a wide range of imported products, as suggested by President Donald Trump, which could ultimately lead to higher prices for US consumers.

For his part, Trump said at a White House news conference on Friday that he would likely make an announcement on Monday or Tuesday about “reciprocal tariffs, where one country pays a lot or we pay a lot, and we do the same.”

The U.S. consumer sentiment data followed a mixed update on the labour market, often the most widely anticipated economic report each month. The data showed that U.S. hiring last month was less than half the rate in December, but it also included encouraging signs for workers: The unemployment rate fell, and workers saw bigger gains in average wages than economists had expected. Overall, all the data combined could keep the Fed on hold when it comes to US interest rates. The Fed began cutting its key interest rate in September to ease pressure on the economy and labour market, but warned at the end of the year that it may cut less frequently in 2025 than previously expected given concerns about stubbornly high inflation.

USD/JPY Technical Analysis and Expectations Today:

In recent trades, the USD/JPY currency pair has been trading below the 100-hour moving average. The pair rebounded to avoid reaching oversold levels on the 14-hour Relative Strength Index. In the near term, bears will aim to continue the current decline towards support levels of 151.20 or lower to the psychological level of 150.00. Conversely, bulls will aim to take advantage of rebounds to around 152.00 or higher at the resistance of 153.20.

In the long term, based on the daily chart, USD/JPY is also trading in a descending channel formation. Technically, the 14-day RSI continues to support the bearish bias as it approaches oversold levels. Therefore, bears will target long-term declines around 148.85 or lower at 145.00 support. Conversely, on the same time frame, bulls will look to capitalize on a bounce higher for gains around 155.30 or higher at 158.00 resistance.

NAD Recommends Olly Discontinue or Modify Certain Claims for its Kids Chillax Product; Olly to Appeal

By |2025-02-10T22:32:11+02:00February 10, 2025|Dietary Supplements News, News|0 Comments

At issue for the National Advertising Division (NAD) was whether a clinical study commissioned by Olly on its Chillax product, along with the existing research on L-theanine, supports Olly’s claims.

New York, NY – In a challenge brought by competitor Bayer Healthcare LLC, BBB National Programs’ National Advertising Division recommended that Olly PBC discontinue or modify certain claims concerning its Kids Chillax dietary supplement’s ability to support calm and relaxed moods in children, as well as claims for Olly’s previous formulation of its Kids Multivitamin Probiotic (KMP).

Bayer and Olly manufacture dietary supplements, including multivitamins intended for use by children.

Express Claims

Olly markets its Chillax supplement, containing 50mg L-theanine, 30mg magnesium, and 50mg lemon balm, as supporting a “calm” and “relaxed” mood in kids while helping them “stay engaged” and highlights the ingredient L-theanine, an amino acid found in tea leaves, as the ingredient responsible for those effects.

At issue for the National Advertising Division (NAD) was whether a clinical study commissioned by Olly on its Chillax product, along with the existing research on L-theanine, supports Olly’s claims.

NAD concluded that Olly’s study was not a good fit for the challenged express claims because, among other reasons, NAD found that the assessments used to assess anxiety levels in the study were not reliable for the youngest participants in the study. NAD also found the evidence provided on L-theanine did not provide a good fit for the challenged claims.

NAD therefore recommended that Olly discontinue the following claims or modify its advertising to be consistent with the results of the underlying testing and research:

  • OLLY’s Kids Chillax “supports a calm and relaxed mood”
  • “Z is for Zen: These peaceful pals are just the thing to help gently calm little minds, while helping kiddos stay engaged”
  • “L-Theanine is “Captain calm”
  • A 50 mg dose of L-Theanine “works within 60 minutes to support a relaxed state of mind”
  • L-Theanine “helps support a calm mood for kiddos”
  • L-Theanine “works to support a relaxed state of mind”

During the proceeding, Olly permanently discontinued certain claims for its Chillax product. In addition, Olly informed NAD that it had reformulated the KMP product to use a different probiotic strain and confirmed that such claims pertaining to the prior formulation were permanently discontinued. Therefore, NAD did not review the discontinued claims on their merits and will treat the claims, for compliance purposes, as though NAD recommended they be discontinued.

Implied Claim

Bayer also argued that consumer reviews appearing on Olly’s website conveyed the message that The Kids Chillax supplement helps with ADHD, behavioral problems, anxiety, and sleep troubles. Bayer further argued that the consumer reviews should be deemed false or misleading implied claims that Olly has a responsibility to remove from its website.

NAD determined that the reviews are authentic because there was no evidence in the record that the reviews were false or fake, or that the reviews misrepresented or were not reflective of the individual reviewer’s experience. NAD further determined that Olly was engaging in reasonable practices with respect to its collection of reviews.

NAD noted that while the Federal Trade Commission guidance provides that advertisers are not required to moderate reviews with unsupported product benefit claims, it is prudent to monitor independent reviews for misleading messages. If a misleading message is repeated, advertisers should consider (1) removing reviews that make unsupported product claims (positive or negative), and (2) examine its advertising to determine if it contributes to misleading messages.

In its advertiser statement, Olly stated that it will appeal part of NAD’s decision because it “respectfully disagrees with NAD’s recommendation that it discontinue or modify the claims for its Kids Chillax product.”

Appeals of NAD decisions are made to the BBB National Programs’ National Advertising Review Board (NARB), the appellate-level truth-in-advertising body of BBB National Programs.

XRP Rally Imminent? 73% of Traders Go Long

By |2025-02-10T22:26:52+02:00February 10, 2025|Crypto News, News|0 Comments

XRP, the native token of Ripple Labs, is gaining notable attention from traders despite ongoing market uncertainty, making it appear more bullish compared to other assets. Today, February 10, 2025, the overall cryptocurrency market is showing signs of price recovery, and traders seem to be finding better opportunities in the XRP token.

73% of Binance’s XRP Traders Go Long

These traders were observed on Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange. According to the data, the Binance XRPUSDT long/short ratio stands at 2.66, indicating that for every 2.66 long positions, Binance has only a single short position. This shows a bullish sentiment among traders.

XRP Rally Imminent? 73% of Traders Go Long
Source: Coinglass

However, data further revealed that currently, 73% of top XRP traders on Binance hold long positions, while 27% hold short positions. This data not only shows strong interest from traders but also indicates attraction from long-term holders and whales.

$12.50 Million Worth of XRP Outflow

In addition to traders betting on the long side, investors and long-term holders have been found accumulating XRP tokens from exchanges. Data from the spot inflow/outflow reveals that exchanges across the crypto landscape have witnessed an outflow of a significant $12.50 million worth of XRP tokens.

This substantial outflow from exchanges hints at potential accumulation and could lead to buying pressure and further upside momentum.

XRP Price and Upcoming Level

With all this participation from traders and investors, XRP’s trading volume jumped by 48% compared to the previous day. However, the price remained unchanged in the past 24 hours, as it is currently trading near the $2.43 level.

Despite the ups and downs in market uncertainty, XRP is still in an uptrend and is receiving support from the ascending trendline.

Source: Trading View

However, this marks the fourth day of consolidation near this level. Based on the recent price action and historical patterns, if XRP holds above the $2.30 level, there is a strong possibility it could soar by 35% to reach the $3.30 level in the future.

GBP/JPY Forecast Today 10/02: Struggles (Video + Chart)

By |2025-02-10T20:32:26+02:00February 10, 2025|Forex News, News|0 Comments

  • The British pound has been all over the place against the Japanese yen during trading on Friday as risk appetite is pretty much all over the place.
  • There is an interesting fundamental dichotomy between these two countries at the moment in the sense that the Bank of Japan is fighting inflation and likely to tighten monetary policy.
  • Although we don’t really know what that looks like working from a very low base to begin with.

But at the same time, we had the Bank of England on Thursday cut rates by 50 basis points, and there were several members, I think two out of the nine or three out of the nine were looking to cut even deeper. So that being said, it looks like the Bank of England is probably on a rate cutting cycle, and that will continue to work against the British pound in general.

However, if the Japanese yen starts to lose strength, what I think is that the British pound with its higher interest rate swap is going to continue to attract inflows. And therefore, I would expect some type of recovery if we did in fact see the Japanese yen fail against other currencies.

What Could Get Me Bullish

In this pair, I think a daily close above the 190 yen level would get the market in an upward move probably towards the 50 day EMA, presently sitting around the 193 yen level. If we break down below the lows of the candlestick for Friday, then 185 yen is your next support level. And I think that would of course be tested. In general, I would expect a lot of noisy trading in this area as the market will continue to have to try to gauge where both of these central banks are currently heading.

Everyone’s Obsessed with Protein Powder—Should You Be, Too?

By |2025-02-10T20:30:45+02:00February 10, 2025|Dietary Supplements News, News|0 Comments

Gingagi / getty images

Protein powder: It’s not just for gym bros anymore. As experts and influencers continue to tout the importance of all things protein for muscle strength, satiety, and overall well-being, more of us are reaching for the supplement and dumping it in our Nutribullets. We get the appeal: It’s convenient, it lasts for months, and each serving packs around 25 grams of protein, depending on the brand.

But is powdered protein really necessary to achieve your best health? We asked a nutrition expert whether the supplement deserves its flowers or is just a pricey, overhyped product that’ll clutter your pantry shelves.

First, Know Your Protein Needs

Protein’s queen bee status isn’t unearned. Its primary function is supporting the growth, repair, and maintenance of many tissues in your body—from hair, nails, and skin to internal organs and bones. The multitasking nutrient also plays a “critical role” in regulating your hormones and supporting your immune system, says Jamie Adams, a women’s health dietitian and the founder of Well Nourished Mamas.

“While all of these roles are important throughout life, maintaining muscle mass and strength along with bone health becomes increasingly important in midlife, as women face a natural decline in muscle mass and bone density during this time,” says Adams. Some research suggests that women’s need for protein increases during perimenopause.

The current U.S. Dietary Guidelines for Americans state that women over the age of 18 need about 46 grams of protein per day. But you might require more depending on your activity level, age, and health goals. While an older study suggested that postmenopausal women might need more protein to ward off muscle loss, research is still thin on the subject.

Not sure what you need? Talk to your PCP or a registered dietitian. This free protein calculator makes doing the math a cinch, too.

The Pros and Cons of Powder

In specific cases, protein powder—typically made from whey (a product of milk), soy, or peas—is absolutely worth considering. For example, vegans may find plant-based powders helpful to make up for their more limited dietary sources of protein. If you’re a vigorous exerciser (meaning you spend more than two and a half hours at the gym every week), your body may also need the extra boost from a powder. Same goes if you’re on a GLP-1 medication—extra protein may help prevent muscle loss that can come with slimming down relatively quickly.

Some kinds of protein powder may also have specific benefits for menopause, although more research is needed. “One small study found that supplementation of collagen peptides in postmenopausal women improved bone mineral density compared to those who took a placebo,” says Adams.

But protein powder comes with drawbacks, too. A lot of people are sensitive to the whey and legumes found in some formulas and can experience unpleasant symptoms like gas, bloating, and upset stomach. In addition, each serving has about 100 calories (depending on the brand), so overdoing it might also lead to unwanted weight gain if you’re not mindful about your intake.

Your body can also only handle so much protein at a time. “Supplementing with additional protein powder can lead to excessive protein intake, which can be hard on the kidneys,” says Adams.

Another important caveat: Despite the health halo, protein powders are, technically, processed foods. Most contain a range of additives, preservatives, and hard-to-recognize fillers; some also contain potentially harmful amounts of heavy metals. (Eek!) Like other supplements, they also aren’t tested for safety, effectiveness, or purity by the Food and Drug Administration, which shifts the responsibility for choosing safe options onto us as shoppers.

The bottom line is that, honestly, most of us might not even need protein powder. Data suggests most women already get enough protein from meals—it makes up about 16 percent of our calories, which lines up with current recommendations. Why shell out $40 a month for a supplement if you don’t have to?

A Better Whey

For these reasons, most nutrition experts prefer that people focus first on whole foods—lean meat, eggs, fish, low-fat dairy, beans, quinoa, and lentils—for their protein fix. That way, you’re also getting other essential nutrients, like calcium, vitamin D, magnesium, and omega-3 fatty acids, says Adams. “Incorporating a variety of these foods ensures comprehensive nutritional support for hormonal and physical changes as we age,” she adds. (Plus, less processing and fewer fillers, depending on what you buy.)

While nothing is as quick and easy as adding a powder to a snack or drink, you can still find convenient ways to work in protein-rich foods throughout the day. Blend cottage cheese into your smoothies or whip up egg scrambles in the morning. For snacks, pack a handful of nuts or hard-boiled eggs. These small moments can add up over the course of the day to get you where you need to be.

If you want to stock protein powder as a backup, look for one that’s been tested by a third party, like the National Science Foundation or U.S. Pharmacopeia, before clicking “Add to Cart.” That way, you can be confident of the safety of your pick’s ingredient profile.

Dogecoin Price to $3.69? This Chart Pattern Suggests So

By |2025-02-10T20:25:44+02:00February 10, 2025|Crypto News, News|0 Comments

A prominent trader has suggested that doggy-themed crypto Dogecoin could be set to quadruple its all-time high.

In an X post on Sunday, February 9, highly followed crypto trader “Trader Tardigrade” suggested that Dogecoin could be gearing up for a rally to the $3.69 price point.

While it is a modest target compared to recent $20 calls, it is still 4 times DOGE’s all-time high of about $0.74 and nearly 14 times its current price of about $0.25.

The analyst based their projections on an ascending channel pattern formed by the memecoin’s price action since 2014 on the monthly candle chart. Per the chart, the asset appears to be on its way to revisiting the top of this channel, which Trader Tardigrade anticipates will align with the $3.69 level.

Dogecoin Price to .69? This Chart Pattern Suggests So
Ascending channel on DOGEUSD monthly candle chart Source Trader Tardigrade

Unsurprisingly, amid current market uncertainty, not many community members appear to be as optimistic as Trader Tardigrade, with some asserting they will be content with just revisiting previous all-time highs at $0.74.

Despite this pessimism, DOGE is not without catalysts.

Elon Musk and ETFs

For one, the memecoin may be set to get increased visibility thanks to its long-running support from the world’s richest man and Tesla CEO, Elon Musk.

Recently, the billionaire has been appointed as head of the Department of Government Efficiency, a non-governmental agency tasked with informing government spending cuts, which he has cheekily named D.O.G.E. Clearing any doubts as to the link between this name and the memecoin, the D.O.G.E. website launched sporting the logo of the crypto.

Beyond Musk’s antics, DOGE may soon see fresh demand from institutions as several fund managers have thrown their hats in the ring to launch exchange-traded funds based on the asset. These asset managers include REX Advisers and Osprey Funds, Bitwise, and Grayscale.

Analysts have suggested that the proposed fund from REX Advisers and Osprey Funds could go live as soon as April 2025, barring a rejection from the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Comprehensive Guide to Cervical Cancer Treatment Options

By |2025-02-10T19:40:05+02:00February 10, 2025|Fitness News, News|0 Comments

Medically reviewed by Blair McNamara, M.D.

Cervical cancer is rare in the U.S. — making up less than 1% of all cancers — and it’s highly treatable. In fact, if it’s found in early stages, the 5-year survival rate is over 91%.

“Cervical cancer in the United States should be preventable. We’ve got an excellent screening test, with Pap smears and HPV testing,” said Monica Vetter, M.D., a board-certified gynecologic oncologist with Norton Cancer Institute.

Even though routine screening can prevent almost all cervical cancers, nearly 1 out of 4 women were overdue for their cervical cancer screenings in 2019. And it was estimated that more than 13,800 people were diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2024.

Asian women, Hispanic women and women living in rural areas were more likely to be behind on their screenings. And a 2022 study found that 1 in 4 Hispanic and Black women have delayed follow-ups, with Black women having the lowest follow-up rates after abnormal findings. Black women are also more likely to have higher rates of cervical cancer, more advanced stages at diagnosis and higher mortality.

Members of the LGBTQ community are also more likely to be behind on screening and are more likely to be incorrectly told by a healthcare provider that they do not need cervical cancer screening.

Read: Removing Barriers to Cervical Cancer Screening for the LGBTQ Community >>

Treatment for cervical cancer

If you have cervical cancer, you’ll likely be referred to a gynecologic oncologist, a doctor that specializes in treatment for cancer of the female reproductive system. Treatment can include surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, targeted therapy and immunotherapy. Which treatment is best for you depends on several factors, including the cancer stage and whether you want to get pregnant in the future.

Surgery

Surgery, along with some other treatments, can affect your ability to get pregnant in the future. Fertility-sparing surgeries, conization or radical trachelectomy, are options for early-stage cervical cancer.

Cone biopsy

Cone biopsy, also called conization, is a surgical option for precancerous cells and early-stage cervical cancer that will still allow you to potentially get pregnant. A cone biopsy takes a large amount of tissue and can also get rid of abnormal cells so they don’t become cancer in the future. “I tell people to think about it like I’m trying to take an ice cream scoop out of the center of their cervix,” Vetter said

There are three types of cone biopsies:

LEEPs can be done in the office using local anesthesia, whereas cone biopsies happen in the operating room, likely under general anesthesia.

Radical trachelectomy

Depending on the size and features of your cancer, your surgeon may recommend a trachelectomy instead of conization. A simple trachelectomy removes just the cervix and a radical trachelectomy removes the cervix and surrounding tissue. Your surgeon may also recommend the removal of nearby lymph nodes. Trachelectomies allow for the possibility of future pregnancy because the uterus is left in place. These procedures are done in an operating room under general anesthesia.

Hysterectomy

There are several types of hysterectomies that can be used to treat cervical cancer. All of them remove the option of getting pregnant in the future.

In a total or simple hysterectomy, the surgeon removes the uterus, including the cervix. The ovaries are usually left in place. This type of hysterectomy can be used to treat certain types of very early cervical cancer.

Radical hysterectomies are a more complicated surgery that removes the uterus and cervix as well as the tissue surrounding the cervix and the upper part of the vagina. The ovaries usually are not removed. Radical hysterectomies have more potential side effects than total hysterectomies, such as bowel or bladder complications.

Hysterectomies can be performed through the abdomen or vagina, and can be open surgery or minimally invasive surgery, including laparoscopic or robotic-assisted surgery. Depending on the stage of your cervical cancer, your surgeon may recommend open surgery as the safest option for hysterectomy. Your surgeon will be able to explain the risks and benefits of the different routes of hysterectomy in your case.

Chemotherapy, radiation and drug therapies

Comprehensive Guide to Cervical Cancer Treatment Options

Chemotherapy is a treatment that uses drugs to kill or slow the growth of cancer cells. It is usually given via IV infusions.

Radiation therapy uses high energy X-rays to kill cancer. Radiation can be administered with X-ray machines, called external beam radiation, or with small capsules that are placed near or in the cervix, called internal or implant radiation.

Radiation is commonly given in combination with chemotherapy, known as chemo-radiation, because it’s more effective than radiation alone. Chemotherapy and/or radiation are sometimes used after hysterectomy and chemo-radiation can be used for tumors that are too big for a hysterectomy. Sometimes chemo-radiation is curative.

Chemotherapy alone is often given if you can’t do other treatments or if you have recurrent cervical cancer — cancer that’s come back after being treated by surgery or chemo-radiation. Unfortunately, it’s not possible to become pregnant after you’ve had chemo-radiation therapy because of the radiation damage to the uterus.

Immunotherapy

Immunotherapy uses your body’s immune system to fight cancer and is often used along with chemotherapy, particularly if you have stage 4 cancer at diagnosis. Given by IV infusion, immunotherapy works by taking away the cancer’s ability to hide from immune cells and improving your immune system’s ability to destroy the cells. Not everyone is a candidate for immunotherapy, but if you are and can get the therapy to respond to the cancer, it can keep you in remission longer. Your ability to conceive after immunotherapy will depend on the type of treatment you had. Some treatments interfere with your fertility and others carry a high chance of causing birth defects.

Targeted drug therapy

Targeted drug therapy uses medicine that blocks proteins that help cancer cells grow and spread. Some targeted drug therapies are IV infusions and some are pills. Some targeted therapies are also considered immunotherapy.

Targeted drug therapy is often used for recurrent disease. More research is needed to fully understand how targeted drug therapy affects fertility.

Screening is key

ways to screen for cervical cancer

“The incidence or the rate of advanced-stage cancers is increasing, and we need to do a better job of getting people screened,” Vetter said. “Get your Pap [tests]. If you’re having any weird symptoms, like vaginal bleeding after sex or bleeding in between periods, go in and be evaluated. When cervical cancer is caught early, there’s a very high cure rate.”

  • Silver price could further rise as the daily chart analysis suggests a persistent bullish bias.
  • The pair may retest its three-month high of $32.65, reached on February 7.
  • The nine-day EMA of $31.71 acts as immediate support.

Silver price (XAG/USD) rebounds from recent declines, hovering near $32.00 per troy ounce during Monday’s Asian session. A daily chart analysis indicates a sustained bullish trend, with the metal price advancing within an ascending channel.

The XAG/USD pair remains above the nine-day and 14-day Exponential Moving Averages (EMAs), signaling strong short-term momentum. Additionally, the 14-day Relative Strength Index (RSI) stays above the 50 mark, further supporting the prevailing bullish sentiment.

Silver price could encounter initial resistance at its three-month high of $32.65, last tested on February 7, aligning with the upper boundary of the ascending channel. A decisive breakout above this level could strengthen the bullish trend, potentially driving the XAG/USD pair toward the psychological mark of $33.00.

On the downside, support is found at the nine-day EMA at $31.71, followed by the 14-day EMA at $31.44, and the ascending channel’s lower boundary at $31.10. A breach below this key support zone could weaken the bullish outlook, exposing the XAG/USD pair to further downside toward its five-month low of $28.74, recorded on December 19.

Silver FAQs

Silver is a precious metal highly traded among investors. It has been historically used as a store of value and a medium of exchange. Although less popular than Gold, traders may turn to Silver to diversify their investment portfolio, for its intrinsic value or as a potential hedge during high-inflation periods. Investors can buy physical Silver, in coins or in bars, or trade it through vehicles such as Exchange Traded Funds, which track its price on international markets.

Silver prices can move due to a wide range of factors. Geopolitical instability or fears of a deep recession can make Silver price escalate due to its safe-haven status, although to a lesser extent than Gold’s. As a yieldless asset, Silver tends to rise with lower interest rates. Its moves also depend on how the US Dollar (USD) behaves as the asset is priced in dollars (XAG/USD). A strong Dollar tends to keep the price of Silver at bay, whereas a weaker Dollar is likely to propel prices up. Other factors such as investment demand, mining supply – Silver is much more abundant than Gold – and recycling rates can also affect prices.

Silver is widely used in industry, particularly in sectors such as electronics or solar energy, as it has one of the highest electric conductivity of all metals – more than Copper and Gold. A surge in demand can increase prices, while a decline tends to lower them. Dynamics in the US, Chinese and Indian economies can also contribute to price swings: for the US and particularly China, their big industrial sectors use Silver in various processes; in India, consumers’ demand for the precious metal for jewellery also plays a key role in setting prices.

Silver prices tend to follow Gold’s moves. When Gold prices rise, Silver typically follows suit, as their status as safe-haven assets is similar. The Gold/Silver ratio, which shows the number of ounces of Silver needed to equal the value of one ounce of Gold, may help to determine the relative valuation between both metals. Some investors may consider a high ratio as an indicator that Silver is undervalued, or Gold is overvalued. On the contrary, a low ratio might suggest that Gold is undervalued relative to Silver.
