8 Vitamins for Stress and Boosting Your Mood

By |2025-01-25T00:00:34+02:00January 25, 2025|Dietary Supplements News, News|0 Comments

  • M. aurum Aogashima: The main ingredient in Immy, this beneficial bacteria is derived from soil and has helped humans for eons by reducing chronic inflammation. As society has shifted to more urban living (when was the last time you played in the dirt?), we encounter the bacteria and its benefits far less frequently. “Years of research indicates that it can positively impact the immune system, diminish chronic inflammation via the gut-brain axis, lower pro-inflammatory markers, and increase stress resilience,” says Syn.
  • Fiber: Considering the importance of your gut-brain axis in regulating stress, you want to make sure you’re giving your gut the support it needs. “Fiber stands out as one of the most extensively studied agents for maintaining a healthy gut microbiome, with substantial evidence supporting its effectiveness and a very low risk profile,” says Dr. Schehr. Fiber is food for your gut microbiome, helping them produce short-chain fatty acids that can reduce inflammation, in turn reducing stress. When paired with adequate protein, fiber intake can also help regulate your blood sugar. “Drastic fluctuations in blood sugar promote the release of stress hormones including cortisol and adrenaline, which can exacerbate feelings of irritability, fatigue, and anxiety,” adds Dr. Schehr.
  • Magnesium: This is a key element that our bodies need hundreds of different cellular processes. “It’s most commonly absorbed dietarily from vegetables, but overfarming has led to many of our vegetables—organic and everything in between—to not have the same level of nutrients for healthy body support,” explains Baczewski. He notes that deficiencies aren’t always reflected in bloodwork, but you can keep an eye out for low magnesium symptoms like anxiety, muscle spasms, restless legs, inability to stay asleep, or headaches. “The best-absorbed magnesium supplements are magnesium chelate and magnesium glycinate,” he says. Dr. Schehr adds that magnesium supports your body’s production of melatonin: “Improved sleep quality is crucial for managing stress effectively,” she says.
  • Ashwagandha: Ashwagandha is a shrub that grows throughout South Asia, the Middle East, and parts of Africa. It’s an adaptogen, meaning it helps the body manage stress and restore balance, explains Syn. There are clinical trials documenting ashwagandha’s efficacy in improving stress, anxiety, and sleep.
  • L-theanine: This amino acid is naturally found in green tea and some mushrooms. “It stimulates the production of alpha brain waves, which are associated with a relaxed but alert state,” says Dr. Schehr, which means it can help reduce feelings of stress and anxiety without dulling your mental clarity or focus. “It may also reduce the activation of the sympathetic nervous system, which is responsible for the ‘fight-or-flight’ response,” she adds. “By promoting parasympathetic activity—the ‘rest-and-digest’ system—it helps the body manage stress more effectively.”
  • Rhodiola: This is another adaptogenic plant, more specifically a type of succulent, which grows in cold, high-altitude areas. Studies show that it can help relieve stress, fatigue, and burnout as well as support cardiovascular and reproductive health with its antioxidant function.
  • Vitamin D: As mentioned, vitamin D is a common deficiency in the United States, with studies showing that it’s especially deficient in Black and Hispanic individuals. You’re also more likely to experience a vitamin D deficiency if you live somewhere with a cold winter, as our body synthesizes the nutrient with the help of sun exposure. Vitamin D is responsible for a lot of bodily functions, but most notably bone health and cognitive health. “If you live in an area like New England, regular supplementation is absolutely necessary,” says Baczewski. “Typical recommendation for oral supplementation is 2,000 to 5,000 units per day, but I encourage closer to 5,000 units if the client is in colder climates.”

How to Choose the Best Supplements for Stress

It’s important to remember that unlike pharmaceutical products, supplements aren’t regulated by the FDA. “The quality of supplements matters, and as a consumer, it can be difficult to accurately assess their quality,” warns Dr. Schehr. She recommends looking for specific certifications that can indicate higher manufacturing standards and provide reassurance about the product’s safety and efficacy. This includes United States Pharmacopeia (USP) Verified, ISO certification, Non-GMO Project Verified, and allergen-free certifications. You should also speak to your provider before trying any new supplements, especially if you are on certain drugs, including those that treat depression, anxiety, or heart conditions. “Your healthcare provider can help assess any potential interactions or contraindications based on your personal health history,” says Syn.

Once you’ve found reputable brands, seek out a supplement designed to address your main concern. Dr. Schehr recommends introducing one supplement at a time to clearly assess its effectiveness. “If you’re dealing with chronic or complex stress symptoms, consulting an expert is essential to determine the best approach,” she adds. And ultimately, know that you can’t expect a supplement to be a complete cure. While it’s often easier said than done, you’ll have to do some work on your own to help alleviate stressors in your daily life. “For any stress support supplement to be truly effective, it must be paired with proactive stress management,” explains Dr. Schehr. “This includes eating a nutritious diet, avoiding stimulants, establishing a solid sleep routine, and incorporating calming practices such as meditation or breathwork.”

Cardano Poised for a Potential Rebound—But Will ADA Price Sustain Above $1.2 This Time?

By |2025-01-24T23:59:06+02:00January 24, 2025|Crypto News, News|0 Comments

Cardano is among the tokens that has lost the user’s attention offlet as the price continues to trade within a predetermined range. Meanwhile, it has turned out to be a potential candidate for a spot ETF. Regardless of the sluggish price action, Cardano activity has increased significantly, with the number of daily active addresses surpassing 50,000. Moreover, whales recently flooded into the network, buying more than 100 million ADA tokens within a couple of days.

The ADA price has just risen over $1 as the market dynamics have slightly shifted in favour of the bulls. As the Bitcoin price sustains above $105K, other altcoins like Cardano have gained momentum as it rise above the crucial resistance. However, the price has been constantly failing to surpass $1, which may raise some concerns over the next price action. Meanwhile, the price has reached the edge of a consolidation, hinting that a potential breakout could be on the horizon.

As seen in the above chart, the ADA has reached the apex of the decisive symmetrical triangle as it tests the support, which is the crucial phase of the rally. As the price has reached support, a rebound is very essential to maintain the bullish momentum. Besides, the volume is also facing extreme squeeze, which flashes massive bullish signals for the crypto. Meanwhile, the technicals that have reached the local lows are about to trigger a rebound.

The Chaikin money flow, which is used to measure the money flow over the platform, has severely dropped below 0, hinting at a massive weakness within the market. However, the levels have displayed a bullish divergence, which suggests a slight rise in the strength. Besides, the RSI trades around the average range, indicating the bulls are waiting for the right time to enter. Therefore, the Cardano price is trading within a crucial phase and hence a daily close above $1.020 could trigger a fresh bullish move to $1.01.

However, breaching beyond the decisive triangle may only pave the way for the ADA price to rise above $1.2, which could break above the bearish range and achieve fresh highs.

GBP Continues to Stall (Chart)

By |2025-01-24T22:04:05+02:00January 24, 2025|Forex News, News|0 Comments

  • The British pound has stalled a bit during the trading session on both Wednesday and Thursday, and as I look at the chart, the 1.2350 level is an area that I think a lot of people will be paying close attention to.
  • If we can break above there, then it could open up a deeper correction, which would not be a huge surprise, considering that the US dollar had been so strong for so long, that one would have to assume sooner, or later traders would be looking to take advantage of profits and close out positions.
  • However, look at this chart as one that will eventually offer value in the greenback, something that I want to take advantage of.

US Economy

One of the biggest drivers of where we are going right now is the US economy, because quite frankly it is much stronger than most others around the world, including the United Kingdom. While the United Kingdom may not be as much trouble as others, the reality is that for some time now, anything not called “the US dollar” has struggled in the Forex world. There are a few outliers such as the Malaysian ringgit, but overall buying US dollars against other currencies has worked out quite nicely. This of course has been no different here, and the fact that money is flying into the United States at the moment it means that US dollars are heavily in demand.

While I do believe that a bounce from here could continue, the 1.25 level should end up being a major barrier. We also have the 50 Day EMA hanging around that area as well, so I think is worth noting that the technical traders will be watching that as well. Quite frankly though, I’m looking for the signs of weakness that will undoubtedly show up and stepping on the GBP/USD pair to the downside. I believe that we will revisit the bottom eventually, but the question just remains at this point as to how long it takes to get there.

Finding your cup of tea among LA’s matcha offerings

By |2025-01-24T21:59:24+02:00January 24, 2025|Dietary Supplements News, News|0 Comments

Here in L.A., matcha is finally getting its flowers in lattes, tonics, and einspanners concoctions, offered up at eateries across the city.

But matcha isn’t just a one note brew. It can be light, ultrarich, bold, dessert-y, depending on where it’s from. So what makes a satiating sip for you may not be someone else’s cup of tea.

Rocky Xu, founder of Rocky’s Matcha whose traveling tea house began as L.A. pop-ups, says it’s comparable to coffee and wine.

“With coffee you have the explosion of single origins and tasting menus,” he says. “With wines, they are aged, cheap, expensive, and everything in between. With matcha, there’s so many different levels.”

So, where should the matcha lover begin? First, know thy source. Cafes choose the matcha they carry. Most traditional matcha comes from Uji in Japan, where the region’s subtropical climate and soil conditions produce high quality leaves. But tea cultivation practices have spread across Japan and other Asian countries, like Korea, which means there are other flavor profiles to consider.

Cafes shortcut this by buying from specific, reputable brands, which you’ll see popping up fairly often, like Rocky’s, Marukyu Koyamaen, Kanbayashi Shunsho, Ippodo, and Mizuba Tea Co.

What else should you be looking out for? Xu boils it down to this checklist:

On the label

  • First harvest — Ceremonial grade. Cultivated once a year at the beginning of the harvest known as “first flush.” A first harvest matcha will have the most intense and fresh flavor.
  • Stone mill — Machine milled matcha is the most efficient, but it can overheat the leaf, causing astringency. Stone milled matcha avoids that problem, but it can only be produced in finite amounts, somewhere between 25 to 50 grams per stone mill per hour.

In your drink

  • Color — The more vibrant the green, the fresher the flavor, and the more likely a ceremonial grade. A more yellowish, dull hue indicates tea has had more time to oxidize and is from a later harvest, leading to less flavor and nutrients.
  • Flavor — a good sip should have a natural sweetness and non-bitter umami. If a cafe serves their matcha pre-sweetened, they’re most likely serving a lower, culinary grade. Pre-mixed sugar is added to mask the bitterness of a later harvest, signaling a lower quality.

Now that we’ve debriefed, here are seven places to get started with your new knowledge:

Stereoscope Coffee (various locations)

Carrier of three Mizuba Tea Co., Stereoscope exclusives.

Stereoscope is a coffee chain which takes its matcha very seriously. They use matcha from Mizuba Tea Company, a Portland-based brand found in cafes across the states that directly sources from producers on Uji farms in Japan.

Stereoscope, however, has partnered with Mizuba to create three store exclusives – Nakama, Kurohitsuji, and Uchigawa. Eunice Noh, one of their baristas, explains the difference:

  • Nakama — “For everyday. A full bodied matcha, bold with comforting notes.”
  • Kurohitsuji — “A clean and crisp matcha that is more delicate.”
  • Uchigawa — “The highest grade carried in the store that’s the most complex, naturally sweet and slightly floral.”

Simply put: as you go down the list, there’s more umami flavor with less aftertaste — and increasingly higher prices. I’d say that enthusiasts with a developed palette can probably taste the differences, but I’ll stick to my Nakama with oat milk for the consistent richness I look for in my tea.

Tea Master of Little Tokyo (Little Tokyo)

Carrier of Tea Master Matcha Powder plus a changing variety on the shelves.

In the Honda Plaza, family-owned Tea Master of Little Tokyo is an authentic Japanese counter serving soft-serve matcha ice cream, green teas and smoothies. While they don’t do the kistchy drinks, they stick to a traditional tea program, traveling to farms in Yame and Shizuoka regions to research where their tea leaves are sourced.

In the Honda Plaza, family-owned Tea Master of Little Tokyo is a Japanese counter serving matcha green teas, smoothies and soft-serve matcha ice cream. Their matcha comes from the Yame and Shizuoka regions, known for producing matcha which is milder and vegetal.

There’s nothing commercial about this space; its charm comes from its shelves of traditional teaware, or chasens (Japanese tea whisks), handwritten signage and Japanese paintings, signaling a deep appreciation for the art of tea making. Wood paneled and minimal in design, it’s not so much a space to camp out to work as to take time to savor a traditional cup of tea.

I appreciate Tea Master’s stripped back approach and often end up there when I’m buying tea-making equipment for home. I trust its selection.

Location: 450 E 2nd St.
Hours: Wednesday through Thursday, Noon to 7 p.m.; Friday through Saturday, Noon to 8 p.m; Sunday Noon to 5 p.m. Closed Monday and Tuesday

Of the many Rocky’s carriers in Los Angeles, my snaps go to Café Telegrama for keeping their latte simple and consistent: hot or iced, with a choice of milk (oat, Koatji, (fermented rice) or pistachio. Telegrama’s latte is served in a sizable glass, making for a crucial sidekick for chowing down on their ricotta and blueberry compote pancakes.

Hours: Daily, 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Modu (Highland Park)

Carrier of DADO TEA and Kettl

A dark brown liquid is being poured from an attractive piece of brown pottery into a glass below which has ice cubes, more of the brown liquid and milk swirling around.

Iced hojicha latte

Modu, in Korean, means “all”, which extends to their choice of brands: for their green matcha they work with Dado Tea, a Korean tea company with roots in the tea province of Jeolla.

“There definitely was a draw to support a fellow Korean brand,” says chef owner Jiyoon Jang. But she notes that she still mostly sources from Japanese matcha farms in Uji “since that’s where the best of the best is.”

“Quality is one of our most important values,” she said, “so we keep that at the forefront in any partnership we decide on.”

Jang uses Dado’s Okumidori Ceremonial Single Origin for their matcha and Kettl’s Shirakawa for their hojicha, which is dark with rich chocolatey notes. In a latte over Koatji milk, the flavors are balanced and light

Carrier of Kurasu Kyoto and AYR Matcha Black

Mandarin Coffee Stand is located in Pasadena’s Burlington Arcade, nestled into the European-style architectural gem with looming archways and curved windows. If you’re craving choice, Mandarin has many great options, from classic green through roasted hojicha.

I mainly endure the lines for their black tea matcha from Korea’s Jeju Island. It’s a powder tea with floral yet chocolatey notes, and it’s hard to come by in a matcha elsewhere. I find the amount of caffeine is just right.

Location: 380 S. Lake Ave. #111
Hours: Daily, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Maru Coffee (Arts District, Los Feliz)

Carrier of Ippodo Matcha

Maru Coffee has created its own cafe culture, one of style and taste in both cafegoers’ fits and their choice in caffeine kick. Maru’s uses Ippodo Tea for their drinks, a matcha that’s been stone milled in Kyoto since 1717. Their latte offers a deep green, energy boost which turns into a sweet treat when paired with the cafe’s signature “cream top”.

PEPE, RCOF, and Solana’s Fartcoin to Repeat the XRP Price 44,000% Trend from 2024? – Blockchain News, Opinion, TV and Jobs

By |2025-01-24T21:58:12+02:00January 24, 2025|Crypto News, News|0 Comments

As PEPE, RCOF, and Solana’s Fartcoin gain traction, many are wondering if they can replicate the spectacular gains seen with the XRP price in 2024. With innovative features, bold presale plans, and strong community backing, these tokens are generating momentum. But can they really echo such monumental growth?

Let’s dive into the factors driving their momentum and why they’re catching the eye of investors seeking the next big trend.

The XRP Price Surge and the Hype Around PEPE, RCOF, and Fartcoin

The XRP price has been on an electrifying ride, capturing the attention of the crypto community. After years of stagnation, XRP reclaimed $1 on November 16, 2024, signaling a bullish resurgence. By December 1, it soared to $2, and on January 15, 2025, it broke the $3 barrier for the first time in seven years.

As of today, the XRP price is at $3.18, a 500% gain in just one year. While the momentum is undeniable, questions remain: can it sustain this growth? Analysts suggest XRP’s rise to $4–$5 is possible, but such returns pale compared to the massive 44,000% surge from its earlier days.

This historic performance has inspired other tokens like PEPE, RCOF, and Solana’s Fartcoin. PEPE and Fartcoin have ridden waves of speculation, achieving about 1,311% and 2,771% gain in a year. RCOF, however, is different. It’s not just chasing hype but solving real-world problems, offering a sustainable path to massive growth.

While the XRP price may stabilize, its historic returns are unlikely to repeat. In contrast, RCOF is in its infancy, brimming with potential. Let’s explore why RCOF could be the smarter choice among these altcoins.

RCOF is a Game-Changing AI Altcoin

RCOF sets itself apart from speculative tokens like PEPE and Fartcoin by riding on real-world utility and AI innovation. At the heart of its ecosystem lies the AI-powered robo-advisor, which tailors investment strategies based on your goals and risk tolerance.

It is like having a 24/7 financial expert that adapts to your needs in real time. It’s cost-effective, emotion-free, and smart enough to optimize your portfolio without requiring you to lift a finger.

But RCOF doesn’t stop there. Its platform allows investors to diversify across 120,000 assets, including stocks, ETFs, and real estate, spanning 12,000 asset classes. This is a level of accessibility and variety unheard of in traditional finance. Add to this the KYC-free onboarding process, and you’ve got a seamless entry into decentralized finance.

RCOF’s debit cards bring crypto into everyday life, letting users pay for groceries or gas straight from their crypto wallets. These cards offer global acceptance, cashback rewards, and unmatched convenience, all while retaining decentralized control.

Security and transparency are non-negotiable for RCOF. The SolidProof audit revealed no vulnerability, signaling that your assets are safe. Borrowing and lending features further enhance utility, turning idle assets into income streams.

While other tokens bank on speculation, RCOF provides a robust ecosystem designed for real-world impact, making it a standout investment in today’s crowded market.

The RCOF Presale Set to Deliver 44,000% ROI

Priced at just $0.07, the RCOF presale is quickly gaining momentum, with nearly $12 million raised so far. Early adopters are already reaping the benefits of a 40% bonus on their tokens, making now the perfect time to invest.

If you invest $1,000 today, you’d acquire 14,285 tokens. When the price rises to $0.10 in the next stage, that’s already a $428 profit. Now imagine RCOF delivering its forecasted 44,000% return. Those same tokens would be worth over $600,000.

Unlike the XRP price gains, which is set to deliver slower returns because of its established state, RCOF is still new and can easily deliver higher ROI.

Why RCOF Could Be the Next Big Thing

If the XRP price reaches $5 in the coming months, that’s a respectable 60% ROI. But compare that to the 44,000% growth potential of RCOF, and the difference is clear. Also, speculative tokens like PEPE and Fartcoin might deliver flashy returns, but RCOF’s innovation and practical utility position it as the better long-term investment.

Still in its infancy, RCOF offers an unparalleled chance to get in early on a project with transformative potential. With its presale price at $0.07, this is the lowest RCOF tokens will ever be. Don’t miss your chance to join a platform designed to outperform the competition and redefine decentralized finance. The window of opportunity is closing fast; invest now and watch your portfolio transform.

Retreats below 0.8450 toward 200-day SMA: Analytics and Market news from 24 January 2025 14:23

By |2025-01-24T20:03:29+02:00January 24, 2025|Forex News, News|0 Comments

  • EUR/GBP struggles to sustain uptrend, facing resistance near 0.8473.
  • Pair tests 200-day SMA at 0.8422; could revisit year-to-date high if support holds.
  • Potential downward move targets 100-day SMA at 0.8348 if support breaks.

The EUR/GBP failed to extend its gains for the second straight day, as stir resistance near 0.8473 was strong enough to be cleared by bulls. Therefore, the cross tumbles towards the 200-day Simple Moving Average (SMA) at 0.8422 and print losses of 0.03%.

EUR/GBP Price Forecast: Technical outlook

The pair resumed its uptrend on January 8, with the EUR/GBP posting gains of 2.29% in a seven-day span. Nevertheless, the EUR/GBP seems overextended, and it has consolidated above the 200-day SMA. If buyers hold prices above the latter, they could test the year-to-date (YTD) high at 0.8470.

On further strength, 0.8500 comes into play, followed by the August 24 peak at 0.8544. A breach of the latter will expose the August 14 daily high at 0.8592.

Conversely, if sellers drive EUR/GBP below the 200-day SMA, it will reach 0.8400. Further downside is clear, once the latter is surpassed, with bears targeting the 100-day SMA at 0.8348.

EUR/GBP Price Chart – Daily

Euro FAQs

The Euro is the currency for the 19 European Union countries that belong to the Eurozone. It is the second most heavily traded currency in the world behind the US Dollar. In 2022, it accounted for 31% of all foreign exchange transactions, with an average daily turnover of over $2.2 trillion a day. EUR/USD is the most heavily traded currency pair in the world, accounting for an estimated 30% off all transactions, followed by EUR/JPY (4%), EUR/GBP (3%) and EUR/AUD (2%).

The European Central Bank (ECB) in Frankfurt, Germany, is the reserve bank for the Eurozone. The ECB sets interest rates and manages monetary policy. The ECB’s primary mandate is to maintain price stability, which means either controlling inflation or stimulating growth. Its primary tool is the raising or lowering of interest rates. Relatively high interest rates – or the expectation of higher rates – will usually benefit the Euro and vice versa. The ECB Governing Council makes monetary policy decisions at meetings held eight times a year. Decisions are made by heads of the Eurozone national banks and six permanent members, including the President of the ECB, Christine Lagarde.

Eurozone inflation data, measured by the Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP), is an important econometric for the Euro. If inflation rises more than expected, especially if above the ECB’s 2% target, it obliges the ECB to raise interest rates to bring it back under control. Relatively high interest rates compared to its counterparts will usually benefit the Euro, as it makes the region more attractive as a place for global investors to park their money.

Data releases gauge the health of the economy and can impact on the Euro. Indicators such as GDP, Manufacturing and Services PMIs, employment, and consumer sentiment surveys can all influence the direction of the single currency. A strong economy is good for the Euro. Not only does it attract more foreign investment but it may encourage the ECB to put up interest rates, which will directly strengthen the Euro. Otherwise, if economic data is weak, the Euro is likely to fall. Economic data for the four largest economies in the euro area (Germany, France, Italy and Spain) are especially significant, as they account for 75% of the Eurozone’s economy.

Another significant data release for the Euro is the Trade Balance. This indicator measures the difference between what a country earns from its exports and what it spends on imports over a given period. If a country produces highly sought after exports then its currency will gain in value purely from the extra demand created from foreign buyers seeking to purchase these goods. Therefore, a positive net Trade Balance strengthens a currency and vice versa for a negative balance.

CA AB 899 applies to dietary supplements

By |2025-01-24T19:57:59+02:00January 24, 2025|Dietary Supplements News, News|0 Comments

Governor Gavin Newsom (D) signed California Assembly Bill 899 into law on Oct. 11, 2023. AB 899 requires manufacturers of baby food to test and disclose the levels of four toxic elements (arsenic, cadmium, lead and mercury) that may be present in baby food, and to meet particular labeling requirements. According to the bill, any baby food products sold or made in California will require testing for specific toxic elements beginning January 1, 2024. The heavy metal disclosure requirements went into effect Jan. 1, 2025.

Up until recently, the bill was thought to impact only baby food sold in California that is marketed for children under two years old. However, in late November, the California Department of Health clarified that the bill also includes dietary supplements, leaving nutraceutical brands scrambling for guidance on how to implement the new requirements in a matter of weeks.

But behind the scenes, industry trades were attempting to reach the California Department of Public Health to get some clarification on whether the bill really does apply to dietary supplements, since more than one trade said they were told that was not the original intent of the bill’s authors.

In December, Loren Israelsen, founder and president of the United Natural Products Alliance, told NutraIngredients-USA that he was in touch with CDHP about the lack of information available about AB 899 on its website.

“We had a webinar on this and our members went and looked at the California [Health Department] website trying to get details,” he said. “They can’t find anything, and in fact, it’s not there. And so the response from California was, ‘well, yeah, it’s the holidays and we’ll do it first thing next year.’ So after it’s effective, basically, you’re going to give us some sense of how this is supposed to work?”

Post-holiday update

On Jan. 14, NutraIngredients-USA reached out to CDHP’s communication department to see whether there were any changes to who the bill impacts.

The communications department responded by saying:

“Dietary supplements are considered food. Therefore, manufacturers of dietary supplements for children 2 years and younger must comply with the provisions and due dates of AB 899. Additionally, manufacturers must comply with other applicable regulatory requirements for dietary supplements (e.g., 21 CFR Part 111 for dietary supplement products). Please see AB 899 FAQ page for more information.”

When pressed on whether there would be any special consideration for supplement manufacturers who recently found out the bill applied to them, the communications department responded:

“AB 899, which became effective Jan. 1, 2024, does not allow an implementation grace period or special considerations.”

Trades respond

“CRN continues to stress that the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) purported interpretation that supplements are included under AB 899 appears to be misguided,” said Jeff Ventura, vice president of communications at the Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN).

“The limited definition of ‘baby food’ under the law does not appear to contemplate that supplements would be included, which is in line with CRN’s understanding that AB 899’s authors did not intend to include supplements within the law’s scope. Supplements are already subject to extensive GMPs that include testing for toxic elements like heavy metals. CRN is concerned with how CDPH staff came to this broad interpretation and that the agency has offered no rationale for why its staff is representing at this late stage why supplements are included.”

“This situation remains in a state of uncertainty. It seems that the CDPH’s only comment is that DS [dietary supplements] are included under AB 899. That is it. Multiple trade organizations have asked for the rationale behind this, and so far silence — both in emails and on the CDPH website,” said UNPA’s Israelsen.

“It is our understanding the sponsors of AB 899 did not envision DS being within the scope of this bill, seeing it as addressing baby foods, juices etc. intended for children under the age of 2.

“Dietary supplements are already under a Prop 65 obligation to test for lead and other heavy metals, so we are trying to understand what happened, who made this decision and how to conform the CDPH’s unexplained thinking to the intent of the original bill sponsors.

“It seems self-evident that if California regulators make a last minute-decision that throws a wrench into the gears, they should, at the very least, explain their thinking and respond to those affected. So far, that has not happened.”

In December, NutraIngredients-USA reached out to several brands with SKUs that appear to be intended for children for a reaction to the bill. No brands responded, except for one that said it did not think the bill applied to them.

Can SOL Price Touch $300?

By |2025-01-24T19:56:09+02:00January 24, 2025|Crypto News, News|0 Comments

The crypto president has signed several executive orders that support crypto, which has helped the altcoin market recover strongly. As a result, the price of SOL has bounced from the important $240 support level, and key on-chain metrics have improved. There’s also a notable increase in transactions on the SOL network, nearing a monthly high, which is pushing the SOL price toward reaching $300 by the end of this month.

Trump Memecoin Creates New ATH for Solana’s Stablecoin Supply

The release of the Trump meme coin has led to a significant recovery in SOL’s price from its recent low. The return of crypto-supporter Donald Trump and several of his executive orders have pushed Solana’s stablecoin supply, transaction count, and total value locked (TVL) to record levels.

According to data from The Block, the number of transactions on the Solana network is close to reaching its monthly peak of 291.6 million. Currently, the count stands at 289.75 million, indicating a spike in activity on the SOL network.

Over the past week, the amount of stablecoin in Solana’s system has exponentially increased, nearing $11 billion for the first time and setting a new record high.

A significant reason for this surge seems to be the popularity of Trump family-themed memes coins, specifically the Official Trump (TRUMP) and Official Melania Meme (MELANIA) coins. These coins have brought in billions of dollars and attracted hundreds of thousands of new users to Solana recently.

As a result, the number of new Solana wallet addresses created each day reached nearly 5.2 million. Additionally, the active address count on the SOL network is now at 5.3 million.

Data from DefiLlama shows that the excitement about memecoins in the Solana ecosystem has also caused a significant increase in its total value locked (TVL).

Solana’s TVL has skyrocketed from $1.28 billion on January 24, 2024, to $12.44 billion today, marking an increase of more than 870% since the start of the year. It also rose by 25% in just the past week.

What’s Next for SOL Price?

The price of Solana is holding steady above a key level on its chart, showing that buyers are feeling confident. Although it’s trying to stay above $260, sellers are pushing back against big price increases. Right now, Solana’s price is $266, after a rise of 7.9% in the last 24 hours.

The trading pair SOL/USDT is above $265 and could go higher than the nearby Fibonacci levels. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) is at 60, which is in the buying zone, suggesting that Solana’s price might climb above $290. If it stays above $290, this could be good for buyers, possibly pushing the price up to $310.

However, if the price drops below the 20-period Exponential Moving Average (EMA20) on the 1-hour chart, sellers could drive it down towards $233.

The GBPUSD price provided additional positive trades to approach the key resistance 1.2440$, and as we mentioned this morning, this level represents one of the trend keys beside 1.2300$ support line, as the price needs to break one of them to detect its next destination clearly.

Therefore, we will continue with our neutrality until we get clearer signal for the next trend, while the expected targets after breaching the mentioned levels are explained in our morning report.

The expected trading range for today is between 1.2300$ support and 1.2475$ resistance
