Peter Brandt Pokes XRP Community With Bearish Price Prediction

By |2024-10-03T23:47:52+03:00October 3, 2024|Crypto News, News|0 Comments

Peter Brandt, a commodity and foreign exchange trader, has triggered the XRP community with his new price prediction for the Ripple-associated coin. This comes amidst the ongoing case with the United States Securities Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the recent price dip.

Peter Brandt XRP Price Forecast, Community Reaction

The legendary trader began his X post by making jest of Ripple, claiming that it is a formal name for “RIP PPL OFF.”

Next, he opined the XRP price will retain a value of $0.034 in the long term. Brandt shared a historic chart to give credence to his forecast. His statement about XRP price has stirred some reaction from his followers, with most of them supporting his stance.

One X user claims to be buying XRP as a way of enriching Brad Garlinghouse, Ripple CEO. Another user suggested that Brandt was being too generous by saying XRP will retain $0.034. In his opinion, a price level of $0 is too high for the coin. There are a few X users who believe that the best judge for XRP price action is time. Only time will tell whether the coin will plunge further or remain at Brandt’s projected level.

While Brandt’s followers supported his claims, the top XRP proponent believes the SEC appeal solidifies the coin’s appeal. As such, they are optimistic of further price gains.

Earlier today, the price of the coin fell by 15%, misaligning with the supposed “Uptober” rally. At the time of this writing, XRP traded at $0.5261, corresponding with a 7.88% dip in the last 24 hours. However, its trading volume looks good with a 38.96% surge within the same period.

This suggest that investors are still committed to the coin even though it is currently having a hard time.

The SEC Appeal in Ripple Lawsuit Changes it All

The US SEC finally decided that it was going to appeal Judge Analisa Torres’s ruling in the Ripple lawsuit. Therefore, it filed the motion in the Court of Appeals for the District of Colombia five days before the October 7 deadline. The regulator intends to challenge certain aspects of the July 13, 2023 ruling.

When the same judge asked Ripple to pay $125 million as penalty in its case with the US SEC, many observers thought the end has come. The latest development suggests that this is not the case, changing the whole paradigm.

This SEC appeal may have contributed to XRP’s recent price crunch. Despite the temporary setback, many crypto lawyers said the SEC does not stand a chance with the appeal.

Is green tea a natural alternative to Ozempic?

By |2024-10-03T22:33:26+03:00October 3, 2024|Dietary Supplements News, News|0 Comments

Green tea is quite a hit among wellness enthusiasts who count on this age-old beverage for weight loss, heart health, beating stress apart from reaping a wealth of other benefits. Green tea has catechins, the compounds that reduce appetite and increase energy expenditure, which has led some netizens to consider it as a natural alternative to Ozempic, the diabetes medication which is also recommended by health experts for weight loss. But is green tea really nature’s Ozempic as it is being called by some of the netizens? Let’s find out.
The origin of green tea dates back to 5,000 years ago in China where it was much valued for its therapeutic properties. It has more catechins that black tea and oolong tea, the compounds which aids in weight loss.

“While there is some research into green tea and weight, the evidence on whether a mug (or several) can melt away pounds is unclear,” said Dr. Jyotsna Ghosh, an obesity medicine doctor at Johns Hopkins University.

Is green tea the natural Ozempic?

Is green tea a natural alternative to Ozempic?

Many social media videos have claimed that green tea boosts production of GLP-1, a hormone that aids in release of insulin after meals and slows the movement of food from the stomach into the small intestine. While there is some evidence to the same, more studies are required to establish the connection.
In a study published in journal PLoS One, it was demonstrated that those who took green tea extract had a noticeable drop in triglycerides (a type of fat in the blood) and better insulin resistance. A hormone that helps control blood sugar, called glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1), increased in people who consumed green tea. However, the study added that more research is needed to confirm these benefits.
One of the clinical trials shows that there wasn’t a big difference in GLP-1 production between people who took green tea extract and those who took placebo pills. The effect may be small and thus green tea’s effect on the human body cannot be conclusively compared to Ozempic which has proven benefits for increasing GLP-1 and suppressing appetite, aiding in weight loss.

Is green tea effective in weight loss?

Experts say that while it doesn’t exactly mimic the effects of Ozempic, some components in green tea could contribute to appetite suppression and weight management, which makes it a good alternative in your weight loss journey. Green tea has high amounts of catechins or epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) which is known to increase fat oxidation and improve metabolic rate. Some studies also prove that green tea may help lower ghrelin levels, suppressing hunger. However, in a study published in Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, it has been found that green tea had no significant effect on the maintenance of weight loss.
However, it is important to moderate green tea consumption considering high amounts of green tea can lead to irritability, insomnia, heart palpitations, and dizziness.
Green tea may not raise GLP-1 like Ozempic or may or may not have a positive effect on weight loss, but in moderation, it does have benefits for health.

Euro to Dollar Rate Could be Gearing Up for 1.09: City Index

By |2024-10-03T21:48:19+03:00October 3, 2024|Forex News, News|0 Comments

The US dollar has strengthened for a fourth consecutive day, sending the EUR/USD down for the fifth session.

The short-term EUR/USD technical forecast has turned bearish ever since breaking its trend line and 21-day moving average this week.

The EUR/USD is now nearing the lower end of its recent range around 1.1000 area after falling through a few short-term support levels this week, including the area between 1.1100 to 1.1125.

This 1.1100-1.1125 zone is now the most important hurdle to watch should we get any upside moves this week, say as a result of weaker US data. Only a closing break above this zone would be a positive technical development.

On the downside, if support around the 1.1000-1.1030 area breaks, and we hold below this region, then that could pave the way for a potential drop towards the next important technical area circa 1.0900.

The greenback has been bolstered by several reasons.

At the start of the week, it was Fed Chair Powell’s hawkish remarks that provided the greenback a lift.

Then we had a couple of stronger-than-expected labour market indicators, which reduced the likelihood of another 50 basis point rate cut this year. We have also seen weakness come into a couple of major foreign currencies.

Investment bank EUR/USD consensus forecasts: The end-2024 and 2025 guide from Corpay has been released. Featuring the median, mean, high and low points forecasted by over 30 investment banks. Please request a copy here.

On Wednesday, the yen slumped after Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba said he does not “believe that we are in an environment that would require us to raise interest rates further,” following a meeting with Bank of Japan Governor Kazuo Ueda.

Today, it was the Bank of England Governor that sent the pound slumping after saying that the UK central bank could be a “bit more aggressive” in cutting interest rates, provided the news on inflation continued to be good.

Adding to the dollar’s momentum has been the ongoing Middle East conflict, which has driven up geopolitical risks and undermining the EUR/USD forecast and risk-sensitive currencies across the board.

This newly found momentum means the greenback is likely to remain supported on the dips until the release of the US jobs report on Friday, which could set the tone for its near-term direction before attention shifts to the US presidential election.

Tensions in the Middle East have played a significant role in the dollar’s recent performance. The latest missile exchange between Israel and Iran has left traders watching closely for Israel’s next move.

Any major retaliation could shake markets further. Israel has vowed to respond while intensifying its ground operations in Lebanon. However, there’s also the possibility of de-escalation.

Should Israel opt for a more restrained response, avoiding key sites like Iran’s nuclear facilities, markets may calm down, stabilising the euro and other risk-sensitive currencies.

But if the conflict escalates, the EUR/USD forecast could see even greater headwinds as risk-aversion grows.

Testing Key Support as Market Sentiment Weaken
Solana Daily Chart Analysis

Why is Solana Trending today?

Solana is trending today for several key reasons. This overall market pressure is weighing on SOL’s performance, with traders closely monitoring whether it can hold above its $138 support level.

In addition to market conditions, Solana remains in the spotlight for its notable scalability and efficiency in managing decentralized applications (dApps) and decentralized finance (DeFi) projects. The network remains relevant due to its low transaction fees and growing ecosystem, especially as it gets ready for possible upgrades to improve its abilities even more. Analysts and traders are also paying close attention to Solana’s technical indicators, which could drive further market movements depending on how it interacts with its current support and resistance levels.

Lastly, analysts are watching closely as Solana approaches key technical levels. With SOL teetering around important support zones, the current price action is crucial, and any breakout or breakdown could attract even more attention in the coming sessions.

Solana future outlook

In the coming days, SOL’s ability to stay above $138.00 will be key in determining its short-term direction. A break below this level could trigger a decline toward $127.39, while a recovery might pave the way for a challenge of the $151.39 resistance. Given the market’s volatility, traders should remain cautious and closely monitor key support and resistance zones to capitalize on any potential movements.

This current phase of price consolidation could set the tone for Solana’s next big move. As we navigate the broader challenges in the crypto space, keep an eye on market sentiment and technical levels.

Facts About Microdosing – HealthyWomen

By |2024-10-03T21:35:32+03:00October 3, 2024|Fitness News, News|0 Comments

Do you remember the scene in “Alice in Wonderland” when Alice nibbles on a mushroom so she doesn’t grow too big or shrink too small? That’s pretty much the thought process behind microdosing. You don’t take enough of the psychedelic drug to experience a real notable change, but the tiny dose may have mental perks, like reducing anxiety and depression.

Interest in microdosing and magic mushrooms seems to be at an all time high right now. A recent report found that 8 million people in the U.S. used psilocybin, the psychedelic component of magic mushrooms, last year. And about half of those people reported microdosing the last time they used it.

Read: Are Medical Mushrooms Really Magic? >>

The increase in curiosity around microdosing psilocybin may be due, in part, to the its decriminalization over the past few years in several states and cities across the U.S. Decriminalization of magic mushrooms, or shrooms, means that there are no criminal penalties for personal use. However, it’s important to note that psilocybin is still illegal on the federal level, even in states where it’s decriminalized. And the lack of regulation can mean whatever product you’re buying could be fake or contain harmful ingredients.

We asked Jim Grigsby, Ph.D., director of the University of Colorado Denver Center for Psychedelic Research, what you need to know about microdosing and magic mushrooms.

What is microdosing?

Microdosing is taking a very small amount of a psychoactive substance to enhance your mood without the mind-altering side effects.

“Microdosing puts too little of the stuff in your brain to produce a psychedelic experience,” Grigsby said. “Some people report that they get a little buzz off of it, and if so, they may have taken slightly more than needed.”

When you microdose mushrooms, you take a much smaller dosage (5% to 10%) than you would if you wanted to hallucinate or “trip.” And people who microdose generally take these doses on a semi-regular basis — two or three days a week.

How much is a microdose?

iStock.com/los_angela

A microdose typically involves eating about 0.1 grams – 0.3 grams of mushrooms each time.

How to microdose mushrooms

There are different ways to microdose mushrooms. The mushrooms can be chewed up dry or added into a hot tea or a broth/soup. They can also be crushed or put in a coffee grinder and mixed in chocolate or put in gelatin capsules and taken orally.

What happens in the brain when microdosing mushrooms?

A microdose works the same way as a regular dose, just with different effects. The psilocybin is first converted to psilocin, the active ingredient. When it reaches the brain. The psilocin binds to serotonin receptors — especially one called 5-HT2A — which play a role in brain functions like perception and mood. That triggers, on a small scale, a biochemical cascade which is thought to eventually cause reactions at dopamine receptor sites. (Dopamine receptors affect emotions, movement and the reward system in the brain.)

What are the benefits of microdosing mushrooms?

While at least one survey found that people microdosing psilocybin reported improved mood, feeling more connected to other people and cognitive enhancement, the jury is still out on the benefits to and safety of microdosing mushrooms.

“There isn’t any good research on the subject, only observational studies that rely on self-report — no clinical trials or experiments,” Grigsby said. Some research shows people reported improved mood, more energy, productivity, creativity and clear thinking, but there’s no control group for comparison. “Statistically, it’s possible to take into consideration people’s expectations, and that can then explain the entire effect. So, it could be a placebo effect.”

Who shouldn’t try microdosing mushrooms?

There is little research on the effects of microdosing mushrooms and no guidelines regarding who shouldn’t try it. That said, some research suggests repeated microdosing of psilocybin can cause valvular heart disease, so people with cardiac conditions and heart valve problems should be aware of this possible side effect.

Microdosing may also not be good for people with a history of psychosis or a family history of psychosis. “Again, we don’t know for sure, but if someone with schizophrenia asked me about it, I’d probably advise against it,” Grigsby said.

What should women and people assigned female at birth keep in mind about microdosing?

Microdosing psilocybin is not recommended for people who are pregnant. “Although the dose is very small, and psilocybin is safe and basically non-toxic, like with many drugs, pregnant and lactating women ought not to try microdosing,” Grigsby said.

Natural Gas: Market Awaits EIA Report as Inventory Forecast Boosts Bullish Outlook

By |2024-10-03T21:22:47+03:00October 3, 2024|Forex News, News|0 Comments

Daily Natural Gas

On the downside, failure to breach resistance could trigger renewed selling pressure. If downward momentum picks up, traders may look for support around $2.825. A break below this point could lead to sharper declines, with potential pivot points at $2.702, $2.653, and $2.601, all possible downside targets.

Market Anticipates Bullish EIA Report

Traders are positioning themselves ahead of the EIA report, which is expected to show a smaller-than-average injection into natural gas storage. According to industry estimates, the consensus points to a build of +56 billion cubic feet (Bcf), well below the five-year average of +98 Bcf for this time of year. The market has been supported by warmer-than-normal temperatures across the U.S., particularly in Texas, which has boosted cooling demand. In addition, lower wind energy generation last week has contributed to increased natural gas usage, adding to the bullish sentiment.

NatGasWeather, a prominent industry forecaster, suggests that today’s storage report could surprise to the upside, with some estimates as low as +53 Bcf. A smaller-than-expected build would further shrink the storage surplus and support higher prices.

Near-Term Weather Outlook and Demand

Looking at the weather forecast for the upcoming week, much of the U.S. is expected to experience mild temperatures, with highs ranging from the 60s to 80s across most regions. However, hotter conditions persist in California, the Southwest, and parts of Texas, where temperatures are reaching into the 90s and 100s. Despite the regional heat, overall natural gas demand is expected to be low over the next seven days, which could temper the market’s bullish momentum.

Market Forecast: Cautiously Bullish

The natural gas market appears cautiously bullish in the short term. A smaller-than-expected storage build would support prices, especially if the market breaks through key resistance at $3.00. However, failure to overcome these resistance levels could lead to downside risks, with potential testing of support at $2.825 and lower pivot levels. Traders should remain watchful of today’s EIA report, as it could be a decisive factor in determining the market’s next move.

Skin care meets neuroscience with neurocosmetics

By |2024-10-03T20:32:41+03:00October 3, 2024|Dietary Supplements News, News|0 Comments

This article originally appeared in the Nutrition Business Journal Ingredient Science and Innovation Issue.

Anti-aging is so last century, and now beauty-from-within has morphed into mood-from-without. As the cosmetics industry embraces holistic solutions and mind-body connection, neurocosmetics—aka mood-lifting cosmetics—is the hot new kid on the block. And supplements are poised to get in the game.

“It’s a pretty new field that has been generating a lot of interest over the past year,” says Mark Broussard, a chemist and compliance expert at the Desert In Bloom cosmetics lab who is developing neurocosmetics products. “Ingredient availability has been there for a couple of years, but it’s been kind of a slow build for companies to include neurocosmetics ingredients in their products. Look for that to increase substantially over the next two to three years.”

“The rise of neurocosmetics is not just a passing trend,” says Roshini Sanah Jaiswal, CEO and founder of the neurocosmetics line Justhuman. “It’s a paradigm shift in the beauty industry.”

Based on mediator-receptor interactions between the skin and the nervous system, neurocosmetics is an evolution of pharmaceutical practices that leverage neuropeptides to influence skin health and repair, Jaiswal explains. In addition to neuropeptides, Justhuman formulations include probiotics, prebiotics and postbiotics to nourish the skin microbiome and GABA to induce calm feelings in the brain and soothe sensitive skin.

“The convergence of neuroscience, dermatology and cosmetic chemistry is opening up new possibilities for products that not only address cosmetic concerns like aging and sensitivity but also provide psychological and emotional benefits,” Jaiswal says. “Our approach is to combine neuropeptides and adaptogens with other cutting-edge ingredients to create formulations that go beyond traditional health care.”

Skin care meets neuroscience

The basic premise behind neurocosmetics is that the skin is an extension of the central nervous system, and, therefore, some skin problems are the result of psychological discomfort. Medical scientists have been studying the relationship between the psyche and the nervous, endocrine and immune systems since the early 2000s. Over the past couple years, product developers have been utilizing this research to create bioactive topical products made from ingredients such as peptides, adaptogenic herbs, amino acids, ceramides and antioxidants that are designed to work at a neurological level, improving not only the epidermis but also mood and well-being.

“So-called neurocosmetics or neuroactives can affect how the brain responds to topical treatment,” says Franziska Wandrey, head of research for Switzerland-based Mibelle Group Biochemistry, a leading developer of neurocosmetic ingredients. “Our skin is basically an extension of the brain, as both the skin and the brain are interconnected by nerves and neuronal cells.”

Esthetician Amy Wall, founder of Higher Self Beauty, describes neurocosmetics as “an exciting intersection between skincare and neuroscience—a profound shift in how we approach skin health, recognizing the deep connection between our emotional state, brain, nervous system and skin. Neurocosmetics is really the science of topical ingredients that work on the neurotransmitters inside of the skin and that can activate chemicals like dopamine, serotonin and all the other feel-good chemicals.”

If supplements sound like a ripe offshoot, they certainly are. Broussard says Desert In Bloom is about to finish up creating a line of topicals for one of its clients and then will move on to developing supplements for the brand.

Mibelle—which made its name in the neurocosmetics field with Happybelle-PE, designed to increase collagen production in the skin and protect skin from both psychological and external stresses—is also utilizing plant sources for oral applications, Wandrey says. “As we at Mibelle Biochemistry develop ingredients for the cosmetic as well as for the food supplement industry, we try to use synergies and utilize the plant sources for topical as well as oral applications, if possible.”

Mibelle’s newest ingredient, timut pepper-based SaraPEPP Nu, is made specifically for dietary supplements. “With SaraPEPP Nu, we stayed in the realm of neuronal protection and could show, in different studies, that oral intake improves brain neuronal activity, working memory and overall cognitive function and stress resistance,” Wandrey says.

Where’s the science?

All of these are big claims. And as with most emerging fields, neurocosmetics still lacks a substantial body of research to back them up.

“We are still very much in the early stages, and certainly the scientific evidence and research really needs to come forward,” says R&D expert Raphaelle O’Connor, director of health and nutrition consultancy inewtrition. “We are really looking for a combination of social science, data science and life science to work together in order to understand the mechanism in which these molecules can work.”

Wandrey says Mibelle has performed in vitro and clinical studies to demonstrate mechanisms of action as well as efficacy for its products, and Jaiswal says there is plenty of research highlighting the skin-brain connection and its impact on overall well-being to support the conceptual framework for neurocosmetics. But for the most part, science remains scarce.

Wall is concerned that brands looking to capitalize on emerging interest will “fairy dust” with ingredients associated with neurocosmetics or won’t include a delivery mechanism, such as a peptide, that will allow topical products to penetrate the skin. “A lot of times, they’re just grabbing an ingredient that will qualify to be a neurocosmetic and slapping it into their formula, and they’re getting into the trend that way,” she says.

Living up to the hype

In its 2024 beauty trends report, global market research agency Mintel said neurocosmetics is gaining traction with consumers around the world. In the U.S., one-third of consumers are willing to pay more for beauty and personal care products that have mood-boosting qualities, Mintel found.

And as with any emerging trend, there is a very real danger that the hype could be its demise.

Consumers won’t heed neuroscience’s claims without proof of efficacy, O’Connor points out. “It is becoming very clear now that consumers are very savvy. They are informed, they are looking for value and they are willing to educate themselves,” she says. “So, we have seen some growth, but it has kind of plateaued. I think some companies have lost trust because they haven’t invested resources to support the category.”

Broussard says neurocosmetic ingredients operate at a localized level on the skin, reducing inflammation, irritation and itching by inhibiting production of pro-inflammatory compounds and stimulating skin cells to release feel-good neurotransmitters such as dopamine, oxytocin, GABA and B-endorphins. But they won’t have a systemic effect, he adds, and he worries that some neurocosmetics marketers are suggesting they will. He doesn’t want to see neurocosmetics go the way of CBD, which couldn’t live up to marketing promises it was never meant to deliver.

“Marketers are not going to be able to help themselves,” Broussard says. “They’re going to promote an overall sense of well-being, they’re going to say your relationships are going to be better and you’re going to be more satisfied with your life and everything else. And if you go too heavy on the well-being angle, people will say, ‘Gee, I’m using this cream, but guess what? I still don’t like my husband that much. It hasn’t helped.’ You’re setting yourself up for failure by building up expectations that the product is not designed to deliver and will not deliver.”

Amina Mire, a sociologist at Carleton University who studies messaging around women’s aging and wellness, takes it a step further. Mire believes the entire field of neurocosmetics is coopting scientific language to target aging women who are vulnerable to such messages. “There is no cosmetic cure for neurological issues, so that is that,” she says. “Neurocosmetics is a blatant marketing gimmick, and I am very surprised the FDA has not stepped in to shut it down.”

Mire is concerned that people with mental health issues could turn to neurocosmetics instead of seeking the medical help they need “because there are social media influencers who say, ‘Look, I consume this and look, I feel better.’ It creates both a false hope and a desire to consume more, and I feel this is a trend that needs to be quashed before it takes deep roots because it undermines proper health care.”

Short-term trend reverses on a dime, bulls back in charge

By |2024-10-03T19:47:13+03:00October 3, 2024|Forex News, News|0 Comments

  • EUR/GBP is undergoing a short squeeze higher.
  • The upside will likely be capped at the cluster of Moving Averages situated in the 0.8450s.

EUR/GBP has suddenly reversed and shot higher on Thursday, gaining over 1.0% on the day so far. The explosive rally suggests a short squeeze is happening, and the short-term trend has reversed “on a dime”. The bulls are now back in control.

EUR/GBP Daily Chart

EUR/GBP will probably go higher. The next key resistance level lies at the cluster of Moving Averages in the 0.8450s. From there, a temporary pullback is likely, given the speed of the ascent. Any corrections will likely encounter support at around 0.8385, the July lows.

One warning of the sudden reversal came from the fact that the Relative Strength Index (RSI) was converging bullishly with price (red dashed lines on the chart). This signified a lack of downside momentum and increased chances of a pullback.

Another warning sign was that EUR/GBP has already reached the conservative target for the bear move that began at the August 5 high, at 0.8322. This raised the possibility that the whole move might have completely run its course, which appears to be the case given today’s price action.
