USD/JPY Forecast 11/11: Differential Support (Video)

  • I analyze USD/JPY’s continued strength, noting resistance near ¥154–155 and support at ¥153.
  • With interest rate differentials favoring the U.S. dollar and Japan’s ongoing quantitative easing, I expect further upside toward ¥160 on pullbacks.

The U.S. dollar has shown itself to be stronger against the Japanese yen during the trading session here on Monday as we are trying to break above the ¥154 level, but it’s probably going to take some type of external pressure or whatever to get this pair going higher. If we finally clear the ¥155 level, then I think you’ve got a real shot at this market taking off to the upside. And if it does, then we really get moving much higher.

Support Below

That being said, I think you also have to keep in mind that the ¥153 level offers support, and it’s an area that previously had been resistance. When I look at this, I think market memory coming into play makes a certain amount of sense. The interest rate differential, of course, favors the U.S. dollar against the Japanese yen, and I think it probably will going forward.

Ultimately, this is a market where the interest rate differential really makes the difference, and with this being the case, I think it’s probably only a matter of time before we see the market really take off toward the ¥160 level.

This is especially true as the Bank of Japan has no real hope of cutting the quantitative easing trajectory that they’ve been on for decades. The Federal Reserve has recently suggested that the rate-cutting cycle may not be as aggressive as the market has been pricing in, and therefore, I think you’ve got a situation where it’s a bit of a perfect storm. So, at this point, I do like this market on dips, as I think it gives you value that you can take advantage of from time to time.

5 Vitamins You May Be Lacking This Winter, Per a Dietitian

Winter is known for doing a number on our moods, but it can quietly take a toll on nutrition, too. Between shorter days, colder temperatures, and a whole lot more time spent indoors, our habits tend to shift as autumn comes to a close and that harsher weather finally hits.

This includes our cooking and eating habits. “In the winter months, we have less sunshine and in many places, may have less access to fresh fruits and vegetables,” Tanya Freirich, R.D. at The Lupus Dietitian tells Prevention. And that combination makes certain vitamins easier to fall short on, including ones that are particularly beneficial during this time of year.

So if you want to get ahead of the curve and make sure your nutrient levels stay in a healthy range during winter, here are five vitamins that are particularly worth paying attention to this season—and how to get them from everyday, winter-friendly foods.

Vitamin D

Vitamin D is the most important vitamin to keep tabs on during the winter. “As sunlight is weaker and in short supply during the winter months, even with a fair amount of time spent outside in the sunshine, it may not be enough to prevent vitamin D deficiency,” Freirich explains.

According to the National Institutes of Health, one in four Americans already have low levels of vitamin D. Older adults, people with dark skin, and those with certain conditions that limit fat absorption might be particularly at risk for low levels of vitamin D, regardless of the season.

Freirich recommends looking to fatty fish (like salmon and sardines), egg yolks, mushrooms, and milk (both cow’s milk and non-dairy milk) to increase your vitamin D intake during the winter. And if you’re really worried about keeping on top of it, don’t shy away from having a chat with your doctor.

“Vitamin D is vital for bone, immune and cognitive health,” she explains. But even though getting enough vitamin D is important, excessive levels can have adverse effects as well—although this is almost always caused by adding unnecessary dietary supplements. That’s why Freirich says it’s important to discuss potential deficiencies with your medical provider to ensure the correct dosing.

Vitamin B12

Some people naturally shift toward heavier, starchier comfort meals in the winter, which can lead to lower levels of certain necessary nutrients. Vitamin B12, which is essential for red blood cell formation and nerve health, may be one of these casualties.

Making sure to include fish, dairy products, eggs, and/or fortified cereal in your winter diet can help keep your B12 levels up to par. However, this is also another area where older adults are particularly susceptible to low levels, due to the body’s ability to absorb B12 from food naturally declining. If you’re over 50 or if you follow a plant-based diet, focusing on fortified foods and supplementation might be the way to go.

Low levels of B12 can contribute to fatigue, weakness, numbness or tingling in the hands and feet, and memory or balance problems. If you aren’t sure whether you’re getting enough of this vitamin from food, talk with your health-care provider. A simple blood test can check your levels, and supplementing under medical guidance can help restore them if needed.

Folate

Folate is another nutrient that may dip if your produce intake drops during the colder months—or if your alcohol intake goes up. Actual folate deficiency is rare in the U.S., but can lead to issues such as fatigue, trouble concentrating, heart palpitations, and mouth sores.

Studies have also linked low levels of folate with depression. Although actual causality remains uncertain, it’s another reason to be cognizant of folate levels during the winter months, especially for those who struggle with seasonal affective disorder.

To get enough folate in your diet, try beef liver, asparagus, Brussels sprouts, orange juice, peanuts, or black-eyed peas. Women and girls between the ages of 14 and 30, people with alcohol disorders or diseases such as celiac or inflammatory bowel, or who have certain gene variations may have a hard time getting enough folate. In some cases, supplements containing folic acid or 5-MTHF may help, but consult with a medical professional first.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C is likely one of the first nutrients people think about when cold and flu season hits. Getting enough helps keep your immune system strong. “Vitamin C does not prevent colds, but can reduce the duration and severity of them, as well as reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease,” Freirich advises. It also acts as an antioxidant, helps produce collagen so wounds will heal, and improves the absorption of iron.

With fresh fruits and vegetables less readily available during the winter, Freirich warns that intake of vitamin C can easily drop. “However, you can get sufficient amounts from the seasonally available winter produce: oranges, grapefruits, broccoli, cabbage, leafy greens, turnips, sweet potato and winter squash,” she says.

She also stresses the importance of getting adequate vitamin C through your diet rather than supplements if at all possible, “as excessive amounts can increase your risk for kidney stones and cause stomach upset. Choosing fresh produce high in Vitamin C is an easy and affordable way to meet your needs as well as add a great source of antioxidants and fiber during the colder months.”

Vitamin A

Many vitamin A-rich foods are brightly colored fruits and vegetables: think carrots, sweet potatoes, winter squash, spinach, collard greens, and kale. Epic Bull-Bear Bitcoin Price Forecast Issued by CryptoQuant Founder — TradingView News

CryptoQuant founder Ki Young Ju released a bull-bear price prediction for Bitcoin BTCUSD. Young Ju highlighted short-term risks from large holders while leaving room for a bullish macro case.

The founder of CryptoQuant said large holders, popularly known as whales, have sold Bitcoin worth billions since the coin hit $100,000.

Typically, whale selling creates supply overhang, meaning more BTC hitting the market than buyers can absorb, pushing prices down. 

After Bitcoin hit its all-time high (ATH) of $126,025 on Oct. 6, the price has corrected roughly 20-30%. This is partly due to the supply overhang and is a classic sign of distribution in market cycles.

Bitcoin whales have been cashing out billions since $100K.

I said the bull cycle was over early this year, but MSTR and ETF inflows canceled the bear market. If those fade, sellers will dominate again.

Considering the whale selling, Young Ju had previously suggested that the 2024-2025 bull run had peaked and flipped bearish. However, he pointed out that inflows from Strategy and Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) canceled the bear market.

Without this artificial demand, the CryptoQuant founder believes BTC would have entered a multi-year bear market. Hence, he predicted that if Strategy stops or slows down buying BTC and ETF inflows dry up, sellers will dominate again.

Is now good time to buy Bitcoin?

Young Ju went on to emphasize that selling pressure remains heavy. This is confirmed by metrics such as exchange inflows, futures open interest and liquidations.

In a U.Today report, JAN3 CEO Samson Mow attributed the recent sell-off to new buyers. Mow explained that investors who purchased Bitcoin in the last 12-18 months are now taking profits after securing gains of roughly 20%-30%.

His comments further emphasize the concerns of Young Ju about Bitcoin whales disposing of their coins.

On a bullish note, Young Ju later pointed out that the broader economy matters for risk assets like Bitcoin. He, therefore, encouraged investors and traders to buy the dip if they believe the macro outlook will restart inflows and overpower sellers.

As of press time, the Bitcoin price traded at $105,132, down 0.8% over the past 24 hours. However, the trading volume showed a resumption of market activity. The metric jumped by 3.01% to $70.2 billion.

If the momentum continues, combined with inflows into the spot ETF market, BTC could resume an uptrend.

Analysts recently highlighted that the next possible BTC flashpoint is located around $111,700. They claimed the $111,700 range is the threshold that will determine the next move, either upward or downward.

How to Share a Sexual Fantasy

When Camilla first brought up the topic of sexual fantasies in therapy, she laughed nervously. “I have this one recurring fantasy,” she said, “but I could never tell my husband. He’d think I’m weird.”

Like many people, Camilla assumed that revealing her fantasy might threaten her relationship. She worried that it might be taken as a sign something was missing or worse, that it would change the way her partner saw her.

“Maybe, maybe not,” I replied with a smile. “Large scale studies report that over 95% of people report having fantasies and yet, the perception and understanding of them is still shrouded in misconception. Fantasies are far less about dissatisfaction and far more about imagination.”

Camilla took a deep breath and then revealed her fantasy. “I sometimes imagine being tied up and spanked.”

I smiled at her. “You can breathe a sigh of relief that you’re not ‘weird.’ You and about 96% of women have had a fantasy about some sort of BDSM.”

She looked at me in total shock. “You’re kidding me,” she said.

I explained that research in the nature of fantasy highlights a wide variety of themes. While some people fantasize about romance, most people’s fantasies are a bit kinkier, ranging from things like group sex, BDSM and “forbidden” sex, like being watched by a stranger.

“We could spend a whole session unlocking the meaning of your fantasy, but I know you’re here to discuss whether you should share it with your partner, and if so, how. Let’s get into it.”

Sexual fantasies are about imagination

I explained that fantasies reveal less about what we want to do and more about how we want to feel. I told her to keep that in mind as we explored the nuance of sharing it with her husband.

A recent study that explored the choice to disclose sexual fantasies had some interesting findings.

While 92% of respondents had disclosed a fantasy, 55% harbored a secret fantasy they had yet to share. There were a variety of reasons participants gave for not sharing the fantasy. This included concern that sharing it would threaten the relationship bond, seeing sharing as futile since the fantasy was about something they’d never want to try in real life and concern that the nature of the fantasy was too different from how their partner typically perceives them.

People who chose to share, on the other hand, reported doing so because the process of sharing it was exciting and added to arousal. Also, people in long-term relationships shared because they felt their partner deserved to know, and they felt secure enough to reveal the fantasy to their partner.

There were a couple of factors that most strongly determined the outcome of sharing a fantasy. The researchers found that partners tended to have a positive or neutral response if the couple had strong communication skills and if they were used to at least some sexual experimentation.

I asked Camilla how her relationship and experiences stacked against the research findings. She said she and her husband had used toys here and there, but they’d never experimented much beyond that. She also had concern that he’d see her fantasy as a part of her psyche that was in total contrast to their shared feminist ideology.

“That’s probably part of the appeal,” I told her. “We often eroticize things that are in stark contrast to our normal everyday persona. Let’s come back to the feeling that the fantasy evokes,” I told her. “You said that you and your husband have a solid foundation and can usually communicate quite effectively. I wonder if there’s a way to explore the feeling without revealing every detail of the fantasy. What feelings does the fantasy evoke in you?”

“It’s a couple of things,” she told me. “I get turned on by a man feeling overwhelmed with desire. Also, the idea of being bound with no choice to surrender to the experience is appealing to me. My head is so flooded with to-dos that sometimes I struggle to focus during sex. It’s a turn-on to feel totally free of responsibility.”

“That makes a lot of sense to me,” I said. “Here are my tips for what to share and how.”

  1. Don’t bring anything up immediately before, during or after sex. It’s never a good idea to take someone off guard when it comes to trying new things in bed. Give them time to process.
  2. Open with the following, “There is something I want to share with you. I feel a little bit awkward, but I trust you won’t judge me.” People always ask how to avoid the feeling of awkwardness, but most of the time, there is no way around — only through. Also, if you tell your partner you know they won’t judge you, they’ll want to live up to the standard you’ve set.
  3. Try a scaffolded approach. Rather than revealing every detail of your fantasy, start by expressing your longing for surrender. Assess how they respond to that before choosing to reveal more.
  4. When sharing any sexual desire, it’s crucial to include the why. Don’t say you want them to tie you up without also explaining why it’s appealing to you. In this case, it’s to help you get out of your head.
  5. While I always encourage open dialogue when possible, sometimes the idea of sharing a fantasy is just too intimidating. There are wonderful apps available that will allow you to complete separate sexual preference questionnaires. The app then exchanges only the items on which you align.

Our conversations helped Camilla realize that fantasy was natural. She also learned to view her fantasy as information — a clue to what her erotic energy needed to thrive. When she eventually shared a softened version with her husband, she was surprised by his response. He didn’t judge her at all. He smiled and said, “I think I could help with that.” She felt bolder, and he felt trusted. They both described feeling closer than they had in years.

Fantasies are part of being human. They’re a creative expression of our inner world, and when shared with care, they can become a bridge to deeper intimacy. As I often tell my clients, it’s not about revealing your “weird” side; it’s about revealing your whole self. And that — not the fantasy itself — is what turns good sex into something truly extraordinary.

Euro struggles to find direction

EUR/USD failed to make a decisive move on Monday and closed the day virtually unchanged. The pair remains in a consolidation phase early Tuesday and continues to fluctuate near 1.1550.

The risk-positive market atmosphere on growing optimism about the US government shutdown coming to an end made it difficult for the US Dollar (USD) to gather strength. Nevertheless, the uncertainty surrounding the Federal Reserve’s (Fed) policy decision in December capped the pair’s upside, as investors refrained from betting on a broad USD weakness given the heightened probability of a Fed policy hold.

November ZEW Survey – Economic Sentiment Index data for Germany and the Eurozone will be featured in the European economic calendar on Tuesday. Later in the session, NFIB Business Optimism Index and the Automatic Data Processing’s (ADP) newly introduced weekly ADP Employment Change data will be watched closely by market participants.

In case there is a negative print in the ADP data, the USD could come under renewed selling pressure and allow EUR/USD to stretch higher. On the flip side, a reading at or above 20K could have the opposite impact on the currency’s action.

Meanwhile, US stock index futures trade mixed following the risk rally seen in Wall Street on Monday. The funding bill, which will pave the way for the government’s reopening and was approved by the Senate, will head to the House of Representatives for a final approval on Wednesday. Once the government is funded, investors will await the release of key data, such as the Consumer Price Index, Nonfarm Payrolls and Gross Domestic Product, that were postponed during the shutdown.

EUR/USD Technical Analysis

EUR/USD trades between the 50-period and the 100-period Simple Moving Averages (SMAs), while the Relative Strength Index (RSI) indicator moves sideways slightly above 50, reflecting the pair’s indecisiveness.

On the downside, 1.1530 (50-period SMA) aligns as the first support level before 1.1500 (static level) and 1.1450 (end-point of the downtrend). Looking north, resistance levels could be spotted at 1.1570-1.1580 (Fibonacci 23.6% retracement of the latest downtrend, 100-period SMA), 1.1630 (200-period SMA, Fibonacci 38.2% retracement) and 1.1680 (Fibonacci 50% retracement).

Euro FAQs

The Euro is the currency for the 20 European Union countries that belong to the Eurozone. It is the second most heavily traded currency in the world behind the US Dollar. In 2022, it accounted for 31% of all foreign exchange transactions, with an average daily turnover of over $2.2 trillion a day.
EUR/USD is the most heavily traded currency pair in the world, accounting for an estimated 30% off all transactions, followed by EUR/JPY (4%), EUR/GBP (3%) and EUR/AUD (2%).

The European Central Bank (ECB) in Frankfurt, Germany, is the reserve bank for the Eurozone. The ECB sets interest rates and manages monetary policy.
The ECB’s primary mandate is to maintain price stability, which means either controlling inflation or stimulating growth. Its primary tool is the raising or lowering of interest rates. Relatively high interest rates – or the expectation of higher rates – will usually benefit the Euro and vice versa.
The ECB Governing Council makes monetary policy decisions at meetings held eight times a year. Decisions are made by heads of the Eurozone national banks and six permanent members, including the President of the ECB, Christine Lagarde.

Eurozone inflation data, measured by the Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP), is an important econometric for the Euro. If inflation rises more than expected, especially if above the ECB’s 2% target, it obliges the ECB to raise interest rates to bring it back under control.
Relatively high interest rates compared to its counterparts will usually benefit the Euro, as it makes the region more attractive as a place for global investors to park their money.

Data releases gauge the health of the economy and can impact on the Euro. Indicators such as GDP, Manufacturing and Services PMIs, employment, and consumer sentiment surveys can all influence the direction of the single currency.
A strong economy is good for the Euro. Not only does it attract more foreign investment but it may encourage the ECB to put up interest rates, which will directly strengthen the Euro. Otherwise, if economic data is weak, the Euro is likely to fall.
Economic data for the four largest economies in the euro area (Germany, France, Italy and Spain) are especially significant, as they account for 75% of the Eurozone’s economy.

Another significant data release for the Euro is the Trade Balance. This indicator measures the difference between what a country earns from its exports and what it spends on imports over a given period.
If a country produces highly sought after exports then its currency will gain in value purely from the extra demand created from foreign buyers seeking to purchase these goods. Therefore, a positive net Trade Balance strengthens a currency and vice versa for a negative balance.
