Pound Sterling to Euro Forecast: GBP Vulnerable to Russia Tensions Despite EUR Weakness

By |2025-09-29T18:00:43+03:00September 29, 2025|Forex News, News|0 Comments

– Written by

The British Pound stayed pinned near two-month lows against the Euro at 1.1440, with the Pound to Euro exchange rate (GBP/EUR) weighed by weak UK data, geopolitical jitters and fragile risk sentiment.

Analysts warn Sterling could suffer more than the euro if Russia tensions escalate, while fresh German IFO weakness underlines Europe’s sluggish growth backdrop.

Danske Bank still sees the pair sliding towards 1.1240 on a 12-month view.

GBP/EUR Forecasts: Near 2-Month Lows

The Pound to Euro (GBP/EUR) exchange rate has remained on the defensive and trading just above 1.1440, close to 2-month lows recorded on Tuesday.

The Pound found it very difficult to make headway in global markets even with tailwinds for global equity markets which suggests underlying vulnerability while the Euro has drifted lower.

The FTSE 100 index posted significant losses on Wednesday following a dip on Wall Street and the Pound tends to be sensitive to risk conditions.

If geo-political tensions with Russia intensify, the Euro and Pound would both be at risk, although Sterling would potentially be hit harder.

A drop below the July low near 1.1420 would risk further losses.

Danske Bank expects gradual GBP/EUR losses to 1.1240 on a 12-month view, but added; “The key risk to seeing EUR/GBP trade substantially higher than our forecast is a sharp sell-off in global risk and/or renewed focus on the UK’s fragile fiscal position.”

In rhetoric on Tuesday, President Trump shifted his position on Ukraine and suggested that it could regain all the territory that has been lost. He also called for a more aggressive NATO stance against Russia which could increase tensions within Europe.

ING commented; “If anything, there are downside risks for the euro and even more for higher-beta European currencies as Trump told EU allies to shoot down Russian planes violating NATO airspace.”

Rabobank noted the stronger tone in the latest NATO statements.

It added; “So while can only speculate about the next steps taken by NATO or Europe, opinions appear to be shifting and there can be little doubt that whatever comes next is going to be even more costly for Europe in many respects.”

The German IFO business confidence index dipped to 87.7 for September from a revised 88.9 previously and below consensus forecasts of 89.3.

The current assessment and expectations components both declined on the week.

According to the IFO; “Companies were less satisfied with current business, while their expectations clouded noticeably. Prospects for an economic recovery have suffered a setback.”

The German PMI services-sector index strengthened according to the latest PMI data, but the IFO commented on the sector; “Expectations have grown markedly more pessimistic, and the indicator fell to its lowest level since February.”

Rabobank noted that PMI business confidence data on Tuesday reported a decline in export orders which will be a headwind for the economy.

It added; “In summary, European growth will probably remain sluggish in the coming quarters.”

The Real-Life Diet of Dave Asprey, Who Spends $3,000 a Month on Supplements

By |2025-09-29T17:54:35+03:00September 29, 2025|Dietary Supplements News, News|0 Comments

“How did a fat computer hacker get abs like this?“ Dave Asprey is looking at his body. “Like, I have veins.” The tech-exec-turned-biohacker tilts his phone screen toward his six-pack. “And I’m 52,” he adds, “allegedly.”

Ribeye sears in his Zoom background. It’s afternoon in Austin when I connect with Asprey—best-known as the man who put butter in coffee (a ketogenic diet trend he started with his former brand, Bulletproof) but he’s also helped popularize a bunch of other “biohacks” like blue-light blockers, collagen, cold plunging, and PEMFs (pulsed electromagnetic field devices).

Our call caught the chiseled influencer prepping a pound of local steak between podcasts (he said he had six different shows to record after this).

The wagyu was breakfast for Asprey, who, famously, intermittently fasts. Earlier, he just took about 100 vitamins, cognitive enhancers, and nootropics. The stack, he said, gave him the clarity to bank a couple episodes of The Human Upgrade with Dave Asprey—his long-running podcast, which answers questions like “Should You Eat Dirt?” (episode #1,289) and “Who Should Take Herbal Ecstasy?” (episode #1,306).

Stepping away from sautéing herbs in beef tallow, Asprey pans the camera to his sauna, where he often starts his days at dawn, drinking Danger Coffee—his line of beans, mineral-fortified and mold-free (Asprey is outspoken about toxic mold, as evidenced in his 2015 documentary MOLDY).

Author of The Bulletproof Diet—and four other bestsellers—Asprey is known to make controversial health-related claims that are not always backed by science and for his strong takes on specific foods, like oatmeal, which he calls overpriced “peasant food.” Also bad: peas, falafel, raisins, and hummus, which he says “make you weak.”

Most recently, Asprey released Heavily Meditated (HarperCollins, 2024) a book about how to have “big peaceful brainwaves,” as he put it on a recent episode of The Dr. Phil Podcast.

We caught up with Dave to see what’s new in his daily health routine, and talked about brain hacks, swallowing sixty supplements at once, and why Asprey ejaculates every eleven days to protect his chi.

GQ: Hi Dave!

Dave Asprey: Hi. I’m cooking steak, if that’s okay.

Perfect.

There might also be butter involved.

I have a snack, too. [Holds up Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Collagen Protein Bar by Bulletproof.]

My old company.

Do you still eat them?

No. I think they started using plant-based stuff. I use their MCTs [medium-chain triglycerides] though.

Most people probably know you as the man who put MCT oil in coffee.

I got the idea in Tibet from yak butter tea. I trademarked Bulletproof [a brand built on blending MCT oil into coffee that helped launch the “butter coffee” craze], and venture funded that. I didn’t trademark “biohacking” but I made it something for society. Merriam-Webster added it as a new word in 2018, and my name is in the definition. It’s totally crazy. Just from this idea that we can control our own biology—you just have to know what to do.

You once posted a picture of 84 pills captioned “breakfast.” I also read somewhere that you spend—is it $3000-a-month on supplements?

That’s exactly the number.

What’s your morning routine?

This “morning routine” idea is kind of toxic. You end up doing stuff your body doesn’t need just because it’s your “routine” instead of listening to your body and saying: How stressed am I? Do I need more stress? Or more recovery? The body improves when it’s in a recovered state. Don’t push harder. Recover harder. I have an at-home Upgrade Labs [Asprey’s chain of biohacking centers that offer red-light therapy, cryotherapy, neurofeedback, etc.]. I have an AI machine for cardio, an AI machine for putting on muscle, and a whole body vibration platform. You have to do what your body needs.

It’s hard to know what you need.

It was. That’s what AI is for. I’m not here to pump all my stuff so no need to write about this but we have an app that looks at your data and tells you what to do to reach your goal. No one is going to study all nine of my books, 3,000 blog posts and 1,300 podcasts. So we trained an AI model so you can just say: “I look like this. This is how I am. Tell me what to do.”

I saw you post your $17,000 espresso machine.

Literally, I made coffee on that an hour ago.

Does it taste like a $17,000 coffee?

For a true coffee nerd it makes a five-to-ten percent difference. Mine is chrome and sexy so I feel like I’m driving a Ferrari when I make my Americano.

You seem to have very selective taste. I know you feel strongly about certain foods, like oatmeal “pisses you off,” you often say, and “fuck peanuts.”

All from experience.

How do you eat out?

You can get this at every restaurant. [Holds up raw meat.]

What is that exactly?

Grass-fed wagyu ribeye cooked in tallow over a fire in my backyard to prevent indoor steak smoke fumes. I add rosemary, oregano, margarine, and thyme for antioxidants and longevity.

Beautiful.

I eat this everyday.

Is this your first meal of the day? [It is 1:30pm.]

It is. I took cognitive enhancers this morning, nootropics and all. Now I’ll throw this on a cutting board and show you my supplement stack.

Oh yeah, let’s circle back to that. How many do you take a day?

About 150.

Wow.

I’ll show you how I do it because I’m about to go on a three-week road trip.

That has to take a whole suitcase just for pills.

It’s, like, manageable. By the way, this here is daikon radish, a couple onions and cauliflower, all sautéed in butter. [Shows the rest of his lunch ingredients.]

Do you do one meal a day?

Usually two. I’m 6% body fat. I used to be obese. I’ll show you my abs. [Shows his abs.]

Yeah.

I have veins and I’m allegedly 52 years old.

Is that a six pack or eight?

Six. Eight packs are genetic. You’re just lucky if you have those extra two abdominal muscles. But how is it that a fat computer hacker could have abs like this? It boggles my mind. And I don’t exercise much—probably twenty minutes per week. It’s not hard to have muscles if you know how to eat.

When you go to a restaurant, you get steak. But what if someone wants to make you a meal? Would you eat hummus socially, for example? Do you ever feel like you have to be flexible about food to be polite?

I just make fun of people who eat hummus. Like, “Oh, you chose weakness.” I’m only half kidding. People used to call me crazy but now they’re respectful. I won’t eat chicken on purpose but if I’m at someone’s house, okay, fine, I’ll have some chicken.

[Laughs.]

I’m going to show you my supplements now. Don’t publish a picture of this because I don’t want people to copy me. It’s very customized. People have offered me thousands of dollars to tell them what I take and I’m like, let me help you take what you need, not what I need. So, yeah. [Pans camera to show a walk-in closet lined floor to ceiling with pill bottles like a private GNC.] This is my supplement cabinet.

Holy shit. Wait. Stop. I’m obsessed. Oh my god.

Basically I start here in the morning with this shelf. Then, like, go down here. [Runs his hand along several feet of supplement-packed shelving.] How the heck would you do that when you’re traveling? I’m going to Romania and Ecuador for this Unlimited Life Mastermind retreat I host, then to L.A. and I’m seeing Steve Aoki in Vegas. [Unzips a big black packing cube.] This is what I wanted to show ya. [Holds up a plastic baggie bulging with pills.]

Wow.

These are my supplements for one night.

How many are in there?

I’m guessing 50. That’s one evening stack.

How many pills can you swallow at once?

Probably 60. Here’s my morning bag. [Holds up another bulging baggie.]  It’s bigger—eighty to 100 pills. I could swallow that whole but it’d be work so I take two swallows. But if you drank beer in college, you know how to take supplements.

Were you a big beer drinker?

I was just generally big. Like, 300 pounds big.

Pound Sterling rebounds but remains below key resistance

By |2025-09-29T15:59:54+03:00September 29, 2025|Forex News, News|0 Comments

  • GBP/USD holds comfortably above 1.3400 in the European session on Monday.
  • The renewed US Dollar weakness helps the pair stretch higher.
  • Market participant will keep a close eye on political developments in the US.

GBP/USD builds on Friday’s gains and trades in positive territory comfortably above 1.3400 in the European morning on Monday. The pair’s technical outlook is yet to point to a bullish reversal in the short term.

Pound Sterling Price Today

The table below shows the percentage change of British Pound (GBP) against listed major currencies today. British Pound was the strongest against the US Dollar.

USD EUR GBP JPY CAD AUD NZD CHF
USD -0.17% -0.33% -0.61% -0.11% -0.31% -0.04% -0.16%
EUR 0.17% -0.17% -0.59% 0.05% -0.15% 0.12% -0.00%
GBP 0.33% 0.17% -0.34% 0.22% -0.04% 0.29% 0.17%
JPY 0.61% 0.59% 0.34% 0.53% 0.34% 0.44% 0.50%
CAD 0.11% -0.05% -0.22% -0.53% -0.16% 0.07% -0.05%
AUD 0.31% 0.15% 0.04% -0.34% 0.16% 0.26% 0.14%
NZD 0.04% -0.12% -0.29% -0.44% -0.07% -0.26% 0.03%
CHF 0.16% 0.00% -0.17% -0.50% 0.05% -0.14% -0.03%

The heat map shows percentage changes of major currencies against each other. The base currency is picked from the left column, while the quote currency is picked from the top row. For example, if you pick the British Pound from the left column and move along the horizontal line to the US Dollar, the percentage change displayed in the box will represent GBP (base)/USD (quote).

The US Dollar (USD) struggles to find demand at the beginning of the week as the deadline for the US government shutdown looms.

United States (US) President Donald Trump will meet with top congressional leaders from both parties later in the day to finalize a funding deal and avoid a shutdown. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer reportedly demands the funding bill to contain an extension of the enhanced Affordable Care Act premium subsidies to get his party’s support to pass the spending package.

In the absence of high-impact macroeconomic data releases, investors will scrutinize political developments in the US. In case markets grow optimistic about lawmakers funding the government beyond September 30, the USD could stage a rebound and cause GBP/USD to lose its traction. Conversely, the USD could stay under bearish pressure if no deal is reached moving towards the deadline.

On Tuesday, the UK’s Office for National Statistics will publish a revision to the second-quarter Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth data.

GBP/USD Technical Analysis

The Relative Strength Index (RSI) indicator on the 4-hour chart stays slightly above 50, while GBP/USD continues to trade below the 100-period and the 200-period Simple Moving Averages (SMAs). Additionally, GBP/USD stays below the 20-day, 50-day and 100-day SMAs, reflecting a lack of bullish momentum.

On the downside, the first support area could be spotted at 1.3410-1.3400 (Fibonacci 50% retracement of the latest uptrend, round level) ahead of 1.3330 (static level) and 1.3300 (round level). Looking north, resistance levels could be seen at 1.3470-1.3475 (50-day SMA, Fibonacci 38.2% retracement), 1.3490-1.3500 (100-day SMA, 20-day SMA, 200-period SMA) and 1.3550 (Fibonacci 23.6% retracement).

Pound Sterling FAQs

The Pound Sterling (GBP) is the oldest currency in the world (886 AD) and the official currency of the United Kingdom. It is the fourth most traded unit for foreign exchange (FX) in the world, accounting for 12% of all transactions, averaging $630 billion a day, according to 2022 data.
Its key trading pairs are GBP/USD, also known as ‘Cable’, which accounts for 11% of FX, GBP/JPY, or the ‘Dragon’ as it is known by traders (3%), and EUR/GBP (2%). The Pound Sterling is issued by the Bank of England (BoE).

The single most important factor influencing the value of the Pound Sterling is monetary policy decided by the Bank of England. The BoE bases its decisions on whether it has achieved its primary goal of “price stability” – a steady inflation rate of around 2%. Its primary tool for achieving this is the adjustment of interest rates.
When inflation is too high, the BoE will try to rein it in by raising interest rates, making it more expensive for people and businesses to access credit. This is generally positive for GBP, as higher interest rates make the UK a more attractive place for global investors to park their money.
When inflation falls too low it is a sign economic growth is slowing. In this scenario, the BoE will consider lowering interest rates to cheapen credit so businesses will borrow more to invest in growth-generating projects.

Data releases gauge the health of the economy and can impact the value of the Pound Sterling. Indicators such as GDP, Manufacturing and Services PMIs, and employment can all influence the direction of the GBP.
A strong economy is good for Sterling. Not only does it attract more foreign investment but it may encourage the BoE to put up interest rates, which will directly strengthen GBP. Otherwise, if economic data is weak, the Pound Sterling is likely to fall.

Another significant data release for the Pound Sterling is the Trade Balance. This indicator measures the difference between what a country earns from its exports and what it spends on imports over a given period.
If a country produces highly sought-after exports, its currency will benefit purely from the extra demand created from foreign buyers seeking to purchase these goods. Therefore, a positive net Trade Balance strengthens a currency and vice versa for a negative balance.

‘I’m a GP – these two vitamins can actually help fight cold and flu symptoms’

By |2025-09-29T15:53:58+03:00September 29, 2025|Dietary Supplements News, News|0 Comments

Dr Shireen, who is known on TikTok as doctorshireen, has shared a simple and cost-effective remedy to combat the common cold and flu – and she claims “it really works”

An NHS GP has shared a straightforward and budget-friendly solution to tackle common colds and flu. With cold and flu season hitting the UK, as well as a new Covid strain to look out for, Brits will no doubt want to look for ways to help ease their symptoms.

Doctor Shireen, who goes by @doctorshireen on TikTok, revealed her own approach, insisting “it really works”. In her informative clip, she described the method as “extremely easy” and promised it can “reduce the duration and severity of any cold you have this winter”.

She urged followers to try it out, calling it “the best investment of your time”, and stressed that at the earliest warning signs of illness, like a scratchy throat or streaming nose, swift action is essential, reports Surrey Live.

She explained: “The second notice an itchy throat, a runny nose, itchy, burning eyes – anything that might suggest you’ve got a cough or cold coming – what I want you to do is take two things – vitamin C and zinc”.

Vitamin C supplements won’t break the bank, with Tesco offering a pack of 30 for £1.25, working out at just over 4p a day. Or you can get Tesco Health Vitamin C & Zinc Tablets, which come in a pack of 120, for £3.50, meaning you get both vitamins for less than 3p a day.

Content cannot be displayed without consent

For those who struggle with swallowing pills, she noted: “You can actually get tablets that you can pop into water – just start it. You can’t prevent coughs or colds, but research is out there to show that taking zinc and vitamin C reduces the duration and severity. I’ve personally been doing this for the last couple of years and I can tell you it really works.”

However, seek advice before popping any supplements to ensure they’re safe for consumption. This cautionary note comes as NHS GP, Dr Karan Raj, warns that “if you consume too much calcium, either in supplement form or in food, this can actually impact the iron absorption,” which is essential if you’re on iron tablets.

This happens because “calcium competes with iron for absorption in your intestines. High calcium also has an impact on your body’s ability to absorb non heme iron”. This is the type of iron found in many plant-based foods, he explains.

This is why it’s often suggested to take iron tablets with a source of Vitamin C to boost absorption – and as mentioned earlier, these can be bought cheaply at most supermarkets and offer multiple benefits. With this in mind, the doctor suggests that when you next have breakfast, consider taking “calcium and iron at different times of the day, at least a few hours apart. So if you’re drinking milk, eating yoghurt, or consuming any calcium-rich food, consider delaying your iron supplement by a few hours.”

Why is Vitamin C good for you?

The NHS also emphasises how vital this vitamin is stating that it:

  • helps to protect cells and keeping them healthy
  • helps with wound healing
  • maintains healthy skin, blood vessels, bones and cartilage

What is a good source of Vitamin C?

Vitamin C is found in a wide variety of fruit and vegetables.

Good sources include:

  • citrus fruit, such as oranges and orange juice
  • broccoli
  • strawberries
  • blackcurrants
  • brussels sprouts
  • peppers
  • potatoes

How much vitamin C do I need?

Adults between the ages of 19 and 64 require a daily dose of 40mg of vitamin C. “You should be able to get all the vitamin C you need from your daily diet. Vitamin C cannot be stored in the body, so you need it in your diet every day”, cautions the NHS.

Why is zinc beneficial for me?

Zinc aids in:

  • making new cells and enzymes
  • wound healing
  • processing carbohydrate, fat and protein in food

What are the best sources of zinc?

Zinc can be found in:

  • dairy foods – such as cheese
  • meat
  • cereal products – such as wheatgerm
  • shellfish
  • bread

‘I’m a weight loss doctor and imbalance is why you’re not losing fat’

‘I had a crisp addiction – I didn’t leave my house for five years’

How much zinc do I need each day?

Men aged 19 to 64 years need about 9.5mg of zinc per day, while women need 7mg. You should be able to get all the zinc you need from your daily diet.

However, if you’re taking supplements, the NHS advises: “Do not take more than 25mg of zinc supplements a day unless advised to by a doctor.”

Which One Is the Smart Buy?

By |2025-09-29T15:39:44+03:00September 29, 2025|Crypto News, News|0 Comments

The MATIC token of Polygon has been recording a high growth due to the popularity of Polygon 2.0 and its increasing Total Value Locked (TVL). With upgrades in 2025, the TVL passed 1 bn. In the meantime, the AI is creating a splash as a third generation AI-based cross-chain arbitrage platform. It has promised best returns by means of innovative technology and freedom.

Polygon’s $1.72 MATIC Dream Fades Against Lyno AI’s 2000% Surge—794K Tokens Sold: Will You Grab the Next Crypto Titan?

Lyno AI is at the Early Bird presale. The cost per token is 0.050, and the second phase will be 0.055. So far, 794,580 tokens have been sold, and 39,729 had been raised in a final target price of $0.100. The first customers have the opportunity to take part in a kind-hearted Lyno AI giveaway: buying something over $100 will earn an opportunity to share a 100k prize pool with ten lucky investors.

Lyno AI’s $0.05 Presale Ignites Frenzy—$100+ Unlocks 100K Giveaway: Can You Afford to Miss 2000% Returns Before $0.055 Hits?

Whereas Polygon has an excellent ecosystem, Lyno AI takes advantage of arbitrage opportunities (autonomous AI algorithms) with over 15 blockchains, such as Ethereum, BNB Chain, Polygon, and others. It provides speed of execution to the level of milliseconds and higher slippage control, and it provides scalability and profitability that retail investors are normally not able to achieve. audits the platform in order to maintain security and integrity.

The technology of Lyno AI is not a mere theory. One of the latest Warsaw users made a profit of $80 through a trade of $100 through the slippage control provided by Lyno-evidence that the AI based approach is effective. The protocol includes community governance, where the holders of $LYNO tokens will have the opportunity to vote on upgrades and receive rewards as a result of staking. This forms a very democratic ecosystem. The next generation autonomous system will make the traditional arbitrage space dominated by institutions to be disrupted.

Lyno AI’s Millisecond AI Outruns Polygon’s TVL—$100 to $180 Profits: Your Key to Institutional Wealth by 2030?

Lyno AI is now dominating, a scenario that has been predicted by the top analysts who argued that Polygon would grow to $0.76 in 2025. They are forecasting a price as high as $1.72 in 2030 the equivalent of a possible 2000 percent growth against the 100 percent increase in MATIC. Despite Polygon undergoing a 320M token unlock in September 2025 that affected the price movement, the artificial intelligence-driven system of Lyno is still expanding quickly and achieving actual profits.

XAU/USD resumes the upside, fresh record highs and counting

By |2025-09-29T14:00:45+03:00September 29, 2025|Forex News, News|0 Comments

  • Gold kicks off the US Nonfarm Payrolls week with a bang, printing fresh record highs.
  • US Dollar loses further ground on US government shutdown fears, Fed easing prospects.
  • Technically, Gold appears a ‘buy-the-dips’ trade amid extreme overbought conditions.

Gold has resumed its record-setting rally, setting off a new week with a bang, as buyers challenge the $3,800 hurdle for the first time ever.

Gold capitalizes on US government shutdown fears

Investors scurry for safety in the traditional store of value, Gold, as fears over a US government shutdown, heading into the first day of the government’s 2026 fiscal year on October 1, intensify, weighing on the demand for the US Dollar (USD).

Traders also remain wary about whether the September US labor market report will be published if the US government shuts down.

Meanwhile, markets pay little attention to an Axios report, citing that US President Donald Trump and his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu near a Gaza peace agreement, although Hamas approval seems pending. The report is not yet confirmed by official sources.

Last week, a slew of encouraging US data releases showed the economic resilience, pushing back against expectations of two US Federal Reserve (Fed) interest rate cuts this year.

Markets are now pricing in about 40 basis points (bps) worth of easing by December, according to Refinitiv’s USD interest rate probabilities.

Attention now turns to figures on Job Openings, private payrolls, the ISM Manufacturing and Services PMIs ahead of Friday’s Nonfarm Payrolls (NFP) for further clues on the health of the US economy, which will help reprice markets’ expectations of future Fed rate cuts, in turn, influencing the USD-denominated and non-interest-bearing Gold.

In the meantime, trade and geopolitical headlines will likely drive the Gold price action alongside speeches from Fed officials.

Gold price technical analysis: Daily chart

Technically, buyers appear defiant even as the 14-day Relative Strength Index (RSI) moves deeper within the extreme overbought region.

The leading indicator currently trades at 77, pointing north at the start of the week.

Buyers need acceptance above the $3,800 psychological level on a daily closing basis to provide extra legs to the revival of the record rally.

The next topside hurdle is located at the $3,850 barrier.

A sustained and decisive break above the latter could fuel a fresh advance toward the $3,880 region.

On the flip side, initial support is seen at the intraday low of $3,756, below which the September 24 low at $3,718 could offer some comfort to buyers.

Further down, the $3,650 psychological barrier would act as a tough nut to crack for sellers.

Nonfarm Payrolls FAQs

Nonfarm Payrolls (NFP) are part of the US Bureau of Labor Statistics monthly jobs report. The Nonfarm Payrolls component specifically measures the change in the number of people employed in the US during the previous month, excluding the farming industry.

The Nonfarm Payrolls figure can influence the decisions of the Federal Reserve by providing a measure of how successfully the Fed is meeting its mandate of fostering full employment and 2% inflation.
A relatively high NFP figure means more people are in employment, earning more money and therefore probably spending more. A relatively low Nonfarm Payrolls’ result, on the either hand, could mean people are struggling to find work.
The Fed will typically raise interest rates to combat high inflation triggered by low unemployment, and lower them to stimulate a stagnant labor market.

Nonfarm Payrolls generally have a positive correlation with the US Dollar. This means when payrolls’ figures come out higher-than-expected the USD tends to rally and vice versa when they are lower.
NFPs influence the US Dollar by virtue of their impact on inflation, monetary policy expectations and interest rates. A higher NFP usually means the Federal Reserve will be more tight in its monetary policy, supporting the USD.

Nonfarm Payrolls are generally negatively-correlated with the price of Gold. This means a higher-than-expected payrolls’ figure will have a depressing effect on the Gold price and vice versa.
Higher NFP generally has a positive effect on the value of the USD, and like most major commodities Gold is priced in US Dollars. If the USD gains in value, therefore, it requires less Dollars to buy an ounce of Gold.
Also, higher interest rates (typically helped higher NFPs) also lessen the attractiveness of Gold as an investment compared to staying in cash, where the money will at least earn interest.

Nonfarm Payrolls is only one component within a bigger jobs report and it can be overshadowed by the other components.
At times, when NFP come out higher-than-forecast, but the Average Weekly Earnings is lower than expected, the market has ignored the potentially inflationary effect of the headline result and interpreted the fall in earnings as deflationary.
The Participation Rate and the Average Weekly Hours components can also influence the market reaction, but only in seldom events like the “Great Resignation” or the Global Financial Crisis.

Euro sellers could hesitate while 1.1700 holds

By |2025-09-29T13:57:46+03:00September 29, 2025|Forex News, News|0 Comments

  • EUR/USD clings to small gains, trades above 1.1700 early Monday.
  • The US Dollar struggles to find demand on growing fears over a government shutdown.
  • The near-term technical outlook points to a loss of bearish momentum.

EUR/USD holds its ground and clings to modest gains above 1.1700 early Monday after closing the previous week in negative territory.

Euro Price Today

The table below shows the percentage change of Euro (EUR) against listed major currencies today. Euro was the strongest against the US Dollar.

USD EUR GBP JPY CAD AUD NZD CHF
USD -0.18% -0.31% -0.64% -0.12% -0.30% -0.05% -0.21%
EUR 0.18% -0.14% -0.61% 0.06% -0.12% 0.12% -0.04%
GBP 0.31% 0.14% -0.38% 0.19% -0.05% 0.25% 0.09%

CHF 0.21% 0.04% -0.09% -0.48% 0.10% -0.07% 0.02%

The heat map shows percentage changes of major currencies against each other. The base currency is picked from the left column, while the quote currency is picked from the top row. For example, if you pick the Euro from the left column and move along the horizontal line to the US Dollar, the percentage change displayed in the box will represent EUR (base)/USD (quote).

The renewed selling pressure surrounding the US Dollar (USD) helps EUR/USD gain traction in the European morning as investors grow increasingly concerned over a government shutdown in the US.

United States (US) President Donald Trump will meet with top congressional leaders from both parties later in the day to enact the funding legislation to avoid a shutdown ahead of the Tuesday midnight deadline.

Market participants are also worried that the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) might not be able to release the September employment report, which will include key Nonfarm Payrolls (NFP) and Unemployment Rate figures that the Federal Reserve (Fed) looks at while taking policy steps, this Friday if the government shutdowns midweek.

The US economic calendar will feature Pending Home Sales data for August later in the day, which is unlikely to trigger a significant market reaction. Investors will keep a close eye on the political developments in the US. In case Congress strikes a funding deal, the USD could stage a rebound and make it difficult for EUR/USD to extend its recovery.

EUR/USD Technical Analysis

The Relative Strength Index (RSI) indicator on the 4-hour chart moves sideways near 50 in the European session, reflecting a neutral stance.

EUR/USD faces a pivot level at 1.1690-1.1700 (200-period Simple Moving Average (SMA), Fibonacci 38.2% retracement of the latest uptrend). In case the pair continues to use this level as support, technical buyers could remain interested. In this scenario, 1.1750 (100-period SMA), 1.1770 (Fibonacci 23.6% retracement) and 1.1820 (static level) could be seen as next resistance levels.

If EUR/USD fails to stabilize above 1.1690-1.1700, sellers could take action. On the downside, support levels could be spotted at 1.1640 (Fibonacci 50% retracement) and 1.1580 (Fibonacci 61.8% retracement).

Euro FAQs

The Euro is the currency for the 19 European Union countries that belong to the Eurozone. It is the second most heavily traded currency in the world behind the US Dollar. In 2022, it accounted for 31% of all foreign exchange transactions, with an average daily turnover of over $2.2 trillion a day.
EUR/USD is the most heavily traded currency pair in the world, accounting for an estimated 30% off all transactions, followed by EUR/JPY (4%), EUR/GBP (3%) and EUR/AUD (2%).

The European Central Bank (ECB) in Frankfurt, Germany, is the reserve bank for the Eurozone. The ECB sets interest rates and manages monetary policy.
The ECB’s primary mandate is to maintain price stability, which means either controlling inflation or stimulating growth. Its primary tool is the raising or lowering of interest rates. Relatively high interest rates – or the expectation of higher rates – will usually benefit the Euro and vice versa.
The ECB Governing Council makes monetary policy decisions at meetings held eight times a year. Decisions are made by heads of the Eurozone national banks and six permanent members, including the President of the ECB, Christine Lagarde.

Eurozone inflation data, measured by the Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP), is an important econometric for the Euro. If inflation rises more than expected, especially if above the ECB’s 2% target, it obliges the ECB to raise interest rates to bring it back under control.
Relatively high interest rates compared to its counterparts will usually benefit the Euro, as it makes the region more attractive as a place for global investors to park their money.

Data releases gauge the health of the economy and can impact on the Euro. Indicators such as GDP, Manufacturing and Services PMIs, employment, and consumer sentiment surveys can all influence the direction of the single currency.
A strong economy is good for the Euro. Not only does it attract more foreign investment but it may encourage the ECB to put up interest rates, which will directly strengthen the Euro. Otherwise, if economic data is weak, the Euro is likely to fall.
Economic data for the four largest economies in the euro area (Germany, France, Italy and Spain) are especially significant, as they account for 75% of the Eurozone’s economy.

Another significant data release for the Euro is the Trade Balance. This indicator measures the difference between what a country earns from its exports and what it spends on imports over a given period.
If a country produces highly sought after exports then its currency will gain in value purely from the extra demand created from foreign buyers seeking to purchase these goods. Therefore, a positive net Trade Balance strengthens a currency and vice versa for a negative balance.
