What Happens to Your Iron Levels When You Drink Too Much Matcha?

By |2025-09-23T18:32:04+03:00September 23, 2025|Dietary Supplements News, News|0 Comments

Key Takeaways

  • Matcha is a healthy, delicious drink you can safely enjoy in moderation that can help with energy, stress, and focus.
  • While the tannins in matcha can block the absorption of some iron-rich foods, most people don’t need to worry about it.
  • People who are at more risk of iron deficiency, such as those who are menstruating, are pregnant, or who follow vegan/vegetarian diets, may need to be more mindful of matcha’s effects on iron.

Matcha contains tannins and other compounds that can block iron absorption, but for most people, it’s not a major health risk. With a few simple tweaks, you can still enjoy matcha without worrying about your iron levels.

How Matcha Affects Your Iron Absorption

Matcha is a type of powdered green tea well known for its high antioxidant content. It also contains a unique combination of caffeine and L-theanine, a natural amino acid that has been shown to help with energy, stress, and focus, often making it a gentler alternative to coffee.

Matcha also contains tannins, a type of polyphenol that can bind iron in the digestive tract, making it harder for the body to absorb. Because matcha is much more concentrated than regular green tea, it contains more of these polyphenols that will block your body from absorbing iron.

“This mostly affects non-heme iron (from plants), not heme iron (from meat), which is absorbed more easily and isn’t as affected by polyphenols.“ Debbie Petitpain, MBA, RD, a spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, told Verywell.

Studies suggest even just one serving of green tea with a meal can reduce non-heme iron absorption by up to 60%-90%, with matcha having an even stronger effect on iron absorption, adds Petitpain.

What Iron-Rich Foods Are Affected?

Drinking matcha could affect the absorption of some plant-based sources of iron, including:

  • Dark leafy greens
  • Lentils
  • Legumes
  • Tofu
  • Nuts
  • Seeds
  • Whole grains

Can Other Foods Block Iron Absorption?

Macha isn’t the only drink that can interfere with iron absorption. Other foods contain tannins and, when consumed in large amounts, could reduce how much iron your body takes in.

They include:

  • Black tea
  • Green tea
  • Oolong, tea,
  • Red wine,
  • Cocoa

How Do You Know If You’re Iron-Deficient?

It can be difficult to tell when someone is experiencing iron deficiency, but some early signs include:

  • Fatigue
  • Pale skin
  • Dizziness or lightheadedness
  • Cold hands and feet
  • Shortness of breath
  • Chest pain
  • Headaches
  • Brain fog
  • Brittle nails

If you’re unsure whether your iron levels might be low, ask your provider for testing, adds Petitpain, it’s easy, quick and covered by most health insurances.

Who Might Be More at Risk?

Matcha is safe for most people, but be careful if you drink it frequently or already struggle with low iron levels.

Those who should be more mindful of their matcha intake include:

  • Pregnant and breastfeeding individuals: Their bodies use more iron than usual.
  • Menstruating women: Regular blood loss can increase iron needs.
  • Vegetarians or vegans: They rely on plant-based iron, and matcha could potentially block more of their iron intake.

How to Enjoy Matcha Worry Free

One cup of matcha daily is generally fine, but multiple servings or drinking it with meals can interfere with iron absorption, and the caffeine content can also add up, said Yoshua Quinones, MD, clinical instructor at NYU Grossman School of Medicine.

Matcha can contain up to 45 milligrams (mg) of caffeine per gram (g), while an 8-oz cup of brewed coffee may have up to 120 mg.

Quinones added that vitamin C enhances iron absorption by making it easier for your gut to absorb iron through a process called chelation and reduction.

Here’s how to best enjoy matcha while caring for your overall health:

  • Stick to just one cup a day or about 1 to 3 g
  • Drink it between meals, about 1 to 2 hours before or after eating
  • Monitor your sugar intake since matcha is naturally bitter and is often paired with sweeteners
  • Add vitamin C-rich foods, like citrus or bell peppers, to meals to boost iron absorption

BNB Price Forecast: Can Binance Coin Hold Above $1K After Bearish Divergence?

By |2025-09-23T18:18:55+03:00September 23, 2025|Crypto News, News|0 Comments

BNB’s past corrections have found footing around these EMA bands before resuming their broader uptrend. Therefore, these levels remain critical gauges of market sentiment.

What Could Change This View?

BNB’s broader trend remains bullish, still trading comfortably above its 20-, 50-, and 200-day EMAs, and volume trends suggesting healthy participation during rallies.

If bulls defend the 20-day EMA, BNB could quickly resume its upside toward $1,100 and beyond, especially if Bitcoin steadies after its recent correction.

BNB looks poised for a cooldown, with the $947–$882 range as the first downside cushion. A breach below could drag the token toward $747, but the path of least resistance remains upward as long as EMA support levels hold.

BNB’s On-Chain Signals Supportive of Dips

Onchain data paint a more nuanced picture for BNB.

Glassnode data shows that BNB whales holding over 100,000 tokens have been quietly adding to their balances recently, pushing total holdings to fresh highs.

Is Castor Oil Safe and Effective?

By |2025-09-23T18:02:55+03:00September 23, 2025|Fitness News, News|0 Comments

Castor oil has been in medicine bags and beauty routines since ancient Egypt wasn’t ancient — but now, it’s having a big moment on social media. TikTok and Instagram are full of people swearing it can clear up skin to boost hair growth, fix bloating or even remove toxins by pouring it into your belly button.

But do these viral trends have any real science behind them? Experts say it’s smart to check the evidence before slathering anything new on your skin or adding it to your routine.

We asked dermatologists, a hair restoration specialist and a pharmaceutical researcher to share what castor oil really can and can’t do.

What is castor oil?

Castor oil is a vegetable oil from the seeds of the Ricinus communis plant. For thousands of years, it’s been used for beauty treatments and as a strong laxative and is FDA-approved for that purpose. It’s very thick, has little to no scent and is packed with a fatty acid called ricinoleic acid.

Castor oil in the belly button (navel pulling)

One trending use is “navel pulling,” a traditional Ayurvedic practice that involves people putting castor oil in their belly button. TikTok posts claim it can detox the body, improve digestion, ease cramps, help you sleep or even relieve menstrual pain.

But experts say this practice has no solid scientific backing. “There is no scientific evidence to support the idea that applying castor oil to the belly button (navel pulling) delivers systemic health or skin benefits,” said board-certified dermatologist Tia Paul, M.D.

“Trendy uses such as putting castor oil in the belly button or applying castor oil packs on the skin are based on anecdotal claims and have no solid scientific support,” added John-Paul Andersen, Ph.D., a pharmacologist.

While using a little castor oil on healthy skin is usually low-risk, doctors caution that it’s unlikely to deliver the dramatic results seen online.

Castor oil for hair and skin

People use castor oil in skincare routines as a moisturizer, acne treatment or dry skin soother. It’s also a popular addition to hair masks with claims that it can help your hair grow faster, look shinier and prevent breakage. Some people say swiping the oil on your eyebrows and eyelashes makes them look thicker and grow faster.

Here’s the good: Castor oil does contain ricinoleic acid, which can help hold moisture and may have mild anti-inflammatory properties, said Paul. That can make it soothing for dry, rough skin. “However, there is no large-scale clinical research proving it improves chronic skin conditions or delivers long-term benefits,” she added.

Paul also noted it can clog pores, especially in oily or acne-prone skin. But if you have skin on the drier side, board-certified dermatologist Janet Vafaie, M.D., FAAD, said it could be worth trying. “Castor oil is great for dry skin and cuticles due to its ability to seal in moisture and act like a protective barrier.” Just stick to small amounts and avoid your face, she said, since its thickness can lead to clogged pores.

Castor oil for hair growth and scalp use

Hoping for longer, thicker hair? Experts say you should manage your expectations. “There’s no high-quality clinical data showing that castor oil truly promotes hair growth in the way people online claim,” said hair restoration specialist Ross Kopelman, M.D. “That doesn’t mean it’s useless — but it’s definitely not a miracle solution.”

While castor oil can help condition dry hair and seal in moisture, it won’t prevent or reverse hair thinning. “Castor oil is more of a moisture-sealant than a magic growth solution,” said Vafaie.

But be careful with how you use castor oil on your scalp. “Castor oil is very thick and occlusive, which means it can trap bacteria or clog hair follicles if used too often or left on too long,” warned Kopelman. “I’ve treated patients who developed folliculitis [inflamed, pimple-like bumps on the scalp] from overuse.”

He suggested applying just a small amount, testing how your scalp reacts, and washing it out well.

Castor oil packs and pain relief claims

Another popular trend is using castor oil packs, soaking a cloth in the oil and placing it on the skin to ease cramps, joint pain or inflammation. Wellness blogs and influencer videos often claim anti-inflammatory or antimicrobial benefits, but they don’t provide much evidence.

Experts say that’s because there’s not much science to support these claims. “Most evidence for castor oil’s anti-inflammatory benefits comes from small-scale animal or lab studies and anecdotal reports, so these claims are not conclusively proven in humans,” said Andersen.

He added that, while castor oil does have some mild antimicrobial properties, it shouldn’t replace medical treatments.

Castor oil for constipation

Of all its uses, castor oil’s role as a laxative is the one most supported by research. It’s FDA-approved as a stimulant laxative for occasional constipation. “Castor oil’s main active ingredient, ricinoleic acid, is broken down in the gut and activates prostaglandin receptors, causing intestinal muscles to contract and push stool out,” explained Andersen.

It works well, but experts warn it’s best used only for short-term relief under medical supervision because it can cause cramping, diarrhea and dehydration. And if you’re pregnant, avoid it altogether since it can trigger uterine contractions.

Should you use castor oil?

Castor oil has some proven uses, like relieving occasional constipation and helping moisturize dry skin. But many of the buzzy claims online don’t have solid science behind them.

Our experts all agree: Before using castor oil on your body or in your wellness routine, talk with a healthcare provider (HCP). “It’s very important to seek medical advice before using castor oil for health purposes,” said Andersen.

Your HCP can help you figure out if castor oil is right for you and suggest products that might be safer or more efficient.

EUR/JPY Forecast 23/09:Euro Rallies Against the Japanes

By |2025-09-23T16:33:49+03:00September 23, 2025|Forex News, News|0 Comments

  • The euro has shown itself to be a little bit positive against the Japanese yen during trading on Monday as we continue to dance around the top of an ascending triangle. Ultimately, this is a market that I think could go looking for a major swing high at the 175.53 yen level, but it is going to have to build up a little bit of momentum. Quite frankly, the markets are waning back and forth between risk on or risk off behavior.
  • But as long as we get some type of risk appetite out there, I think you’ve got a very real shot at the Euro rising against the Japanese yen and perhaps trying to hit that 175.53 yen level.

Pullbacks Remain Attractive

Short-term pullbacks should see plenty of support all the way to the bottom of the triangle, which does of course have an uptrend line. And then we have the 50 day EMA sitting just below the 172 yen level. I do not wish to short this pair of the interest rate differential favors Europe, although there are higher paying currencies out there that you can trade against the yen. But this one looks like it’s particularly stable. It’s a matter of just collecting your swap at the end of every day and waiting for the market to rise. At least that’s the theory that we have at the moment. If we do drop down below the 50 day EMA, then we could get a move down to the 169.69 yen level, but right now it doesn’t look like it wants to do that. And therefore, I think we’ve got a situation where we continue to see buyers on dips and eventually a grind to the upside. The bank of Japan currently looks as if it may have to do something but right now it looks more likely to be loosening than tightening.

Vitamin K2 Industry Outlook 2029: Demand, Key Players, and

By |2025-09-23T16:31:01+03:00September 23, 2025|Dietary Supplements News, News|0 Comments

Delray Beach, FL, Sept. 23, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — According to a research report by MarketsandMarkets, the Vitamin K2 Market by Product Type (MK-4, MK-7), Source (Natural Origin, Synthetic Origin), Application Form (Capsules & Tablets, Powder & Crystalline, Oils & Liquid), Application (Pharmaceutical, Functional Food & Beverages, Health Supplements), Function, and Region – Global Forecast to 2029 is poised for impressive growth. The global vitamin K2 market, estimated at USD 139.6 million in 2024, is projected to reach USD 264.7 million by 2029, reflecting a strong CAGR of 13.7% during the forecast period.

Why Vitamin K2 Demand is Surging

Vitamin K2 has gained attention due to its unique role in calcium metabolism, distinguishing it from Vitamin K1, which mainly supports blood clotting. Vitamin K2 helps direct calcium to the bones and away from arteries, contributing to cardiovascular health by reducing the risk of arterial calcification. It also promotes bone mineral density, making it valuable for aging populations and athletes aiming to prevent bone loss.

Growing consumer awareness of health and wellness has further boosted Vitamin K2 demand. As concerns around osteoporosis and cardiovascular health rise, supplements that support bone and heart health have become increasingly popular. The proliferation of both online and retail platforms has also made Vitamin K2 supplements more accessible than ever.

Make an Inquiry to Address your Specific Business Needs

Natural Origin Segment Leads the Market

The natural origin source segment is expected to hold the largest market share throughout the forecast period. Consumer preference for organic and clean-label products is driving demand for naturally sourced Vitamin K2, such as that derived from natto.

The rising incidence of osteoporosis and cardiovascular diseases further fuels this segment, with companies investing in advanced extraction techniques to ensure high purity and bioavailability. This focus on natural sourcing enhances both product appeal and marketability.

Capsules & Tablets: Preferred Application Form

Among the various application forms, capsules and tablets are experiencing notable growth. These forms are convenient, portable, and provide precise dosing, which is crucial for maintaining consistent intake of Vitamin K2.

Capsules and tablets also offer longer shelf life compared to powders or oils, making them an attractive choice for busy consumers. Advances in encapsulation technology have improved the bioavailability of Vitamin K2 in these forms, ensuring the body effectively absorbs the nutrient.

Europe: A Major Market Player

Europe is poised to occupy a dominant position in the Vitamin K2 market during the forecast period. Key factors include:

  • Rising consumer awareness about Vitamin K2’s benefits for bone and cardiovascular health.
  • Preference for natural and plant-based supplements, aligning with holistic wellness trends.
  • Strong presence of pharmaceutical and dietary supplement companies investing in research and innovation.
  • Stringent regulatory frameworks, ensuring product safety and quality, which boosts consumer confidence.

These elements collectively strengthen Europe’s position as a significant market player.

Key Market Players

Leading Vitamin K2 companies in the global market include:

  • Gnosis by Lesaffre (NattoPharma) (France)
  • Kappa Bioscience AS (Balchem Corp.) (US)
  • J-Oil Mills, INC. (PLT Health Solutions, Inc.) (Japan)
  • Novozymes A/S, part of Novonesis Group (Denmark)

  • Nakoda Chemical Ltd. (India)
  • Haihang Industry Co., Ltd. (China)
  • Chemicea Limited (India)
  • Kyowa Hakko U.S.A., Inc. (US)

These companies are actively innovating and expanding their offerings to meet growing demand, leveraging both natural and synthetic sources to capture wider market segments.

The Vitamin K2 industry is on a strong growth trajectory, driven by increasing health awareness, the benefits of natural origin sources, and the convenience of capsules and tablets. With Europe emerging as a key player and global demand rising, the market offers significant opportunities for pharmaceutical, supplement, and functional food companies looking to capitalize on this health trend.

Dogecoin Price Prediction: For DOGE Price To Hit $1, These Three Things Need To Happen In 2025/26

By |2025-09-23T16:17:44+03:00September 23, 2025|Crypto News, News|0 Comments

The Dogecoin Price Prediction for the next two years is again dominating crypto discussions. DOGE has shown resilience but many investors want to know if $1 is within reach by 2025 or 2026.

Analysts suggest that while the odds are challenging, three conditions could align to make it possible. Meanwhile, Remittix (RTX) has already raised over $26.3M in its presale and is emerging as a PayFi token that offers fresh upside opportunities.

Dogecoin: $1 Ambitions Need Real Catalysts

The latest Dogecoin price prediction has DOGE trading near $0.24 after bouncing off support at $0.23. Resistance remains around $0.30, with analysts saying a clean breakout could send it toward $0.35–$0.40 in the short term.

Dogecoin Price Prediction: For DOGE Price To Hit , These Three Things Need To Happen In 2025/26

For DOGE to hit $1 in 2025/26, three things need to happen. First, it must expand beyond memes and gain broader merchant payment adoption. Second, institutional inflows would require regulatory clarification or maybe a Dogecoin ETF. Lastly, DOGE needs to control its inflationary supply while maintaining community enthusiasm.

Many analysts are aiming for a price surge between $0.40 to $0.50 in the upcoming cycle. However, DOGE’s branding, community and liquidity make sure it remains firmly in the discussion.

Remittix: A PayFi Alternative With Real Utility

While the Dogecoin Price Prediction debate continues, Remittix (RTX) is creating momentum in a completely different market corner: PayFi. Built to connect crypto wallets directly to bank accounts, it enables seamless cross-border transfers with real-time FX conversion.

The presale has already surpassed $26.3M, making it one of the biggest launches of 2025. Wallet beta testing is live, allowing the community to try out features before the official rollout.

On top of that, the team is fully verified by CertiK and RTX holds the #1 ranking on CertiK Skynet for pre-launch tokens. The project also activated a 15% USDT referral program, paying daily rewards to participants through the Remittix dashboard.

Why Remittix (RTX) is winning attention:

  • The presale raised more than $26.3 million and sold more than 669 million tokens.
  • The wallet beta is live, giving early users access to upcoming features.
  • The project is verified by CertiK, blockchain’s most trusted auditor.
  • Remittix is ranked as the #1 Pre-Launch Token on CertiK Skynet.
  • The referral program offers 15% rewards in USDT, paid out daily.

By tackling the $19 trillion remittance market, Remittix is positioning itself as a crypto with real utility, not just hype. For investors comparing opportunities, RTX is being tipped as one of the best crypto presale 2025 candidates with genuine long-term adoption potential.

Dogecoin Price Prediction Faces Hurdles, While Remittix Surges Past $26.3M In Presale

The Dogecoin Price Prediction of $1 by 2025/26 depends on adoption, regulation and sustained sentiment. Without those drivers, more modest gains are likely. Remittix, meanwhile, is proving that a new PayFi model with utility, security and incentives can deliver growth today.

For many traders, the strategy is simple: keep DOGE for brand-driven upside, but look at RTX for high-growth potential in 2025.

XAU/USD, at fresh record highs, approaching $3,800

By |2025-09-23T14:35:40+03:00September 23, 2025|Forex News, News|0 Comments

  • Gols approaches fresh all-time highs $3,800, as the US Dollar drifts lower.
  • Investors keep pricing in two further rate cuts in 2025, which keeps US Dollar rallies limited.
  • Later today US flash PMI and Fed Powell might provide further clues about the US central bank’s rate path.

Gold continues to march higher on Tuesday, reaching fresh all-time highs and nearing $3,800 after appreciating more than $140 over the last three trading days. The US Dollar’s pullback ahead of the US PMI and Fed Powell’s speech has provided further support to the precious metals.

Investors’ expectations of further Fed rate cuts, on one side, and growing geopolitical concerns, namely the frictions between Russia and its NATO neighbours, have boosted demand for the safe-haven gold this week.

On Tuesday, a range of Fed speakers offered diverse opinions about the bank’s rate path, but futures markets continued to price in a 90% chance of a 25-basis-point cut in November and a 70% chance of another one in December. Against this backdrop, the US Dollar’s upside attempts are likely to remain subdued.

Technical Analysis: Gold is shouting for a bearish correction

The technical picture shows an overextended rally from mid-August lows. Bullion has appreciated nearly 15% ever since, and these performances, sooner than later, lead to corrections. The RSI is overbought at most timeframes, supporting that view.

On the upside, the psychological level at $3,800 might be a plausible target ahead of a healthy correction. Further up, the 261.8% Fibonacci retracement of the mid-September pullback, at $3,828, emerges as a potential target.

To the downside, immediate support is at the intraday low of $3,738 ahead of the previous record high, in the area of $3,700. Further down, the September 15 and 19 lows, around $36,30 would come into focus.

(This story was corrected on September 23 at 11.25 GMT to say that the market is pricing two further Fed rate cuts, and not rate hikes, as previously reported)

GBP/USD Forecast Today 23/09: British Pound Attempts (video)

By |2025-09-23T14:32:55+03:00September 23, 2025|Forex News, News|0 Comments

The British pound has rallied slightly during the trading session here on Monday, but you can see that we’re just hanging around the 50 day EMA. And it looks a lot like a market that is just simply going sideways after a significant drop over the course of three days. But uh this is still a market that is technically I guess up in an uptrend or maybe sideways. The 1.34 level should offer support as long as that holds. I think we’re more likely than not okay to the upside. But if we break down below 1.34, then we’ll see an acceleration of the US dollar strengthening against the British pound and probably other currencies to drop down to the 200 day EMA just above the 1.32 level. This is the so-called “line in the sand” for the trend from what I can see at the moment.

If We Do Break Lower

Anything below the 1.32 level could be rather ugly for the pound, and it probably sees the US dollar strengthening against not only the British pound but pretty much anything else and we could see just an absolute implosion to the 1.2750 level if that happens. On the upside if we can break above the 1.3750 level which has been historically important then I think the British pound is free to go looking to the 1.40 level, although it’s going to take some type of momentum to make that happen. I think we’re in a situation where people are a little concerned about the global economy. And if that’s the case, the dollar could catch a bid, so be careful with the position size, and recognize as quickly as possible if there is a major shift in risk appetite and sentiment in this market.

Tribeca Citizen | Matchaful coming to Greenwich and Harrison

Matchaful, the matcha tea shop that opened first on Canal and West Broadway in 2019, is coming to Independence Plaza at Harrison and Greenwich. (Thanks to A., A. and V. for the shots and info.)

Hannah Habes, the founder and “chief matcha officer,” said the location will open definitely before the end of the year, though they are still working through the timeline. (One neighbor noted that the space was being used as storage while the 40 Harrison residential lobby was renovated.)

I spoke to Hannah deep in the pandemic — in May 2020 — when she had just opened her first brick and mortar after first popping up at Smorgasburg in 2017. Things came together quickly after that; she now has seven locations in the city, including Soho and Brookfield.

Her story is a good one: She started working for Big Food right out of college, representing — and eating — many of the most popular brands: Pepsi, Chewy granola bars, Gatorade. But by her late 20s she was wrestling with all sorts of health issues and after visits to a half dozen doctors with no diagnosis in hand, she decided to make a radical change in her diet.

She embarked on a self-described “health journey,” trying to eat cleaner and simpler. “I wanted to feel better, and I wanted to consume things that made me feel better.” And in the midst of it, her husband came home from a trip to Japan with a little packet of matcha powder as a souvenir. She was hooked after the first brew. And the more she learned about it, the more she was convinced she was on to something.

“Matcha is a green tea, but it’s so much more than that,” she says. “It has been part of Japan’s history for centuries — it was used in battle by Samurai warriors, monks would drink it to help them concentrate during long hours of mediation. It gives you a calm, relaxed energy — a better high in a way than coffee, smoother and more relaxing.”

By 2013, she was flying to Japan to meet with farmers and look at the supply side. The leaves are grown under a certain process that allows for maximum chlorophyll and amino acid production. They are then steamed, dried and ground into a fine powder. The powder is then brewed into the tea, rather than just soaked or strained. You get more antioxidants and a little more caffeine.

After Smorgasborg in 2017, Hannah went door to door to coffee shops to convince them to carry it. Once she had matcha brewing in 30 outlets, she decided it was time for her own brick and mortar. And then the pandemic came and she made a fateful pivot: she ordered glass bottles and expanded her line to include almost everything they have on the menu in the store. She now has a line of DIY matcha for home, subscriptions, and all sorts of products online — matcha sets, whisking bowls, matcha granola, etc. (Before they moved off Canal they were a good location for the TC Shop-Local Gift Guide.)

More TK when they open.
