Pound Sterling Forecast for “Blockbuster” Moves Against Euro and Dollar

By |2025-08-15T13:18:27+03:00August 15, 2025|Forex News, News|0 Comments

GBP/USD predicted to surpass 1.60 and GBP/EUR 1.30.

Significant gains for the British Pound are possible in this new era of U.S. Dollar devaluation, argues a new research note from QuantMetriks Advisory, the London-based boutique specialising in applied macro and microeconomic research.

According to Dr. Savvas Savouri, Managing Director of QuantMetriks, the Trump administration is reviving past Republican tactics that will yield repeat outcomes: namely, tariff threats that trigger a devaluation of the U.S. Dollar.

Drawing parallels with Reagan (1985), Bush Jr. (2005), and Nixon (1971), Savouri says the current environment is ripe for another engineered dollar slide, as the next instalment of this Republican “blockbuster” franchise plays out.

Savouri leads a team that leverages a proprietary economic modelling system, drawing on deep sectoral data across major economies.

He has amassed over three decades of experience across both the sell-side and buy-side, with roles at notable institutions including Hoare Govett Securities, Credit Lyonnais Securities, Commerzbank Securities, Lazard, and Toscafund Asset Management, where he served as Chief Economist.

Savouri has long been bullish on the Pound, and concedes that he has been calling the “pound up for a long time. Well, this is not so much my last time as the right time.”

The tectonic plates of FX are moving as Trump pursues a weaker Dollar to bolster U.S. exports and lower imports, thereby rebalancing U.S. trade dynamics out of deficit.

Stephen Miran, Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers in Trump’s White House, has spelt out the agenda:

“The desire to reform the global trading system and put American industry on fairer ground vis-à-vis the rest of the world has been a consistent theme for President Trump for decades.

“The root of the economic imbalances lies in persistent dollar overvaluation that prevents the balancing of international trade.”

To achieve a weaker Dollar, Trump will pursue the playbook used by his predecessors, namely the threat of significant tariffs on trade partners.

On previous occassions, “the real & present threat of tariffs saw 11-hour agreements to allay them… Japan & then China each in their respective times, agreed to devalue the Dollar,” explains Savouri.

The implications for the Pound are significant: Savouri states unequivocally that if history repeats and the dollar weakens as expected, then “it’s a certainty the pound will rally against the dollar.”

“Yes, having languished for so long, the pound will rise against the dollar… the pound will also rise relative to the euro,” he says.

Gains against the Euro are also likely as the eurozone is described as facing deepening structural weakness, exacerbated by a rising euro (relative to USD and JPY).

Savouri says the deterioration in domestic fundamentals would likely force the European Central Bank (ECB) into aggressive monetary easing, possibly even renewed quantitative easing.

In contrast, the Bank of England will struggle to justify market expectations of further rate cuts because UK real economic indicators are described as “relatively OK,” while inflation is still sticky at around 3%.

In fact, the QuantMetriks forecast for Bank Rate over the 2025-2029 period is 4.00 to 5.00%.

Savouri expects any upward move in the Pound to be sharp and self-reinforcing, noting:

“When the pound does begin to move higher… it will do so as steeply as when it has behaved that way in the past.”

QuantMetriks forecasts the Pound to Dollar exchange rate to rise to 1.60–1.70 in the 2025-2029 horizon, from a current level of 1.35.

The Pound to Euro exchange rate is expected to rise to 1.30–1.40 during this period.

Is Latvian fireweed matcha your cup of tea? / Article

By |2025-08-15T13:11:06+03:00August 15, 2025|Dietary Supplements News, News|0 Comments

Production of fireweed matcha tea has begun in the Madona municipality company ‘Plūkt’. It is an alternative to the traditional green tea, Latvian Radio reports on 15 August.

The company ‘Plūkt’ has been operating in the Prauliena parish of Madona municipality for eight years and exports 20 different types of tea to 24 countries around the world. 70% of the plants are hand-picked in organic meadows, while mint, calendula and chamomile are grown in the garden. This summer, a new product was launched on the market – Fireweed Matcha Tea Powder.

Plūkt has five employees. Over eight years, it has invested EUR 60 000 and last year turnover was EUR 160 000.

Māra Lieplapa, co-founder and brand manager of Plūkt, said that five projects have been implemented at the factory.

“We have purchased three machines for the production of pyramid bags. Our bags are compostable. This puts us in the top 5% of tea producers in the world with plastic-free bags. And then we also have a drying cabinet where we do the fermentation for the fireweed tea. This way we get an alternative to black tea, and we also have a grinder purchased for the matcha project. We are still testing them, though, as we are looking for the best grind for our product. We are also thinking about a packaging line for loose teas,” said Lieplapa.

The company exports 80% of its teas to 24 countries around the world, with exports to two more countries – Albania and South Korea – starting this year.

Lieplapa said: “In order for today’s consumer to want to consume more herbal teas, we have to be very creative. Last year we were in Japan, Korea, and we went to a lot of match ceremonies. We saw that the demand is growing worldwide. We thought now would be a good time to create something that could be a fun twist on our Latvian fireweed, that you can put in lattes, use in cooking, play with its bright green colour.”

According to Ilze Laukalēja-Broka, PhD in Food Science at the Latvian University of Biosciences and Technology, tea is rich in antioxidants, vitamin C, minerals, pectins, tannins and others.

The scientist said: “The main difference of matcha from other teas is that we get all those tea grounds. This means we get a double dose of both these antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, and that adds to their value. So then I would say that a fireweed matcha is literally a decaffeinated, milder, floral version of the strong matcha drink that we know. Innovation, I think, is something we hear every day somewhere. And mostly everybody associates it with very big technology, but in reality, innovation is something just a little bit different, with a little bit of added value.

“A company that works and tries to make something modern and healthy out of our natural products and, you could say, raises Latvia’s profile in the food sector, that is something to be congratulated.”

Lieplapa, co-founder of Plūkt, said that there is a global demand for Latvian-made teas, but production is limited by the decline of natural meadows.

“Biodiversity is becoming scarcer. Because that has always been our biggest challenge. We are very good at marketing all the products we produce, but we would love to produce more if we had more of these plants. So that’s also the answer to how the matcha was made, because we have enough fireweed and we try to work with the plants that we have.

“Future plans would be to increase exports even more. We want 90 per cent and more. We would like to grow our products in e-commerce, not only in the Baltic countries, but more directly in exports.”

Crypto Analyst Sees Potential for 3,000% Surge to $7

By |2025-08-15T13:09:51+03:00August 15, 2025|Crypto News, News|0 Comments

Crypto analyst @CryptoKaleo predicts Dogecoin (DOGE) could repeat its 2021 cycle and hit around $7. The analyst noted similarities between the 2021 and current cycles, with Dogecoin accumulating in a descending range before breaking out sharply. The target price is $6.9420, a 3,000% surge from the current price of $0.2244.

Crypto analyst @CryptoKaleo has predicted that Dogecoin (DOGE) could repeat its 2021 cycle and potentially hit around $7. The analyst noted similarities between the 2021 and current cycles, with Dogecoin accumulating in a descending range before breaking out sharply. The target price is $6.9420, a 3,000% surge from the current price of $0.2244 [1].

Historical patterns and technical indicators suggest a bullish outlook for Dogecoin. Analysts project that clearing $0.36 could pave the way to $0.70, supported by a golden cross and double bottom setup [1]. Additionally, Elliott Wave analysis projects an initial target of $0.3763, with possible extensions toward $0.45-$0.50 [1].

The current market activity indicates elevated trading volumes and whale support, which could drive Dogecoin’s price higher. However, maintaining key support levels will be crucial to avoid price corrections. The broader crypto market is witnessing increased institutional interest, with recent inflows into Bitcoin ETFs, though this trend primarily benefits large-cap assets rather than smaller altcoins [2].

Investors are advised to exercise caution and conduct thorough due diligence when considering speculative assets like Dogecoin. While historical patterns and technical indicators suggest a bullish outlook, the volatile nature of the crypto market demands a cautious approach.

New York Proposes 0.2% Tax on Crypto and NFT Transactions

By |2025-08-15T11:25:46+03:00August 15, 2025|News, NFT News|0 Comments

New York State lawmakers are advancing a proposed tax on digital asset transactions, marking a significant step in the state’s ongoing efforts to regulate the rapidly growing cryptocurrency market. Assemblyman Phil Steck, a Democrat, introduced Assembly Bill 8966, which would impose a 0.2% excise tax on the sale and transfer of cryptocurrencies and non-fungible tokens (NFTs) within New York. The bill aims to generate additional revenue for state programs while bringing digital assets under a more structured tax framework [1].

The proposed legislation applies broadly to both individual and institutional participants in the crypto market, including those engaging in frequent trading or large-volume transactions. While the tax rate itself is relatively modest, the cumulative impact for active traders could be significant. The bill also raises questions about how it will affect the behavior of crypto users in the state. Some analysts suggest that the tax could encourage users to move their activities to jurisdictions with more favorable regulatory environments [2].

The legislative process for Assembly Bill 8966 includes several key steps. The bill must first be reviewed and approved by a New York State Assembly committee. If successful, it will move to a full vote by the Assembly, followed by the governor’s signature or veto. The outcome will depend on the balance of political will and stakeholder input, particularly from the crypto industry and financial regulators. Given the evolving nature of digital assets, any changes to the bill during these stages could alter its final form and impact [1].

The timing of the proposal is notable, as crypto prices remain elevated. Bitcoin recently reached a new all-time high of $124,000, signaling continued investor confidence and a broader appetite for digital assets [2]. This trend has intensified regulatory interest in the sector, with lawmakers in both New York and Washington calling for increased oversight. The proposed tax aligns with a growing global movement to integrate crypto markets into traditional financial systems, though its execution remains a subject of debate.

New York’s regulatory focus extends beyond digital assets. Lawmakers are also advancing measures to enforce federal tax rules at the state level, including stricter oversight of politically active nonprofits. While these initiatives are separate, they reflect a broader strategy to close perceived regulatory gaps and enhance financial transparency [1].

The potential passage of Assembly Bill 8966 could set a precedent for other states seeking to regulate crypto markets. However, the bill is likely to face legal and political challenges. Critics argue that imposing a tax on digital asset sales could discourage innovation and investment in the sector, especially if the policy is viewed as overly burdensome or retroactive [2]. The final outcome will depend on how lawmakers and regulators balance these competing interests.

As the bill moves through the legislative process, stakeholders will closely monitor its progress. The decision will not only impact New York residents but also influence the trajectory of digital asset regulation across the U.S. For now, the proposal underscores the increasing role of state governments in shaping the future of cryptocurrency and highlights the ongoing tension between regulatory oversight and market innovation [1].

Pound Sterling to Dollar Forecast: GBP/USD Eyes Bullish Break Amid Fed Speculation

By |2025-08-15T11:16:56+03:00August 15, 2025|Forex News, News|0 Comments

– Written by

The Pound to Dollar exchange rate forecasts improved midweek as GBP/USD climbed to a one-month high near 1.3590, buoyed by stronger UK GDP data and persistent weakness in the US dollar. Sterling buyers are now assessing whether the British currency can overcome key resistance at 1.3620, opening the door to multi-year highs.

The US dollar has remained under pressure in global markets as expectations for Federal Reserve interest rate cuts continue to build. Meanwhile, the latest UK GDP figures have underpinned the pound to dollar exchange rate, despite lingering concerns over the underlying data.

A relatively calm global backdrop is also helping to underpin pound sterling.

Danske Bank noted: “The low-volatility, risk-on environment remains intact, with Treasury yields declining, equities advancing, and the USD weakening.”

The GBP/USD exchange rate posted steady gains on Wednesday, reaching a one-month peak of 1.3590 after the GDP release before consolidating just below that level.

According to UoB: “Strong momentum is likely to outweigh the overbought conditions, and GBP may test the major resistance at 1.3620 today. It remains to be seen if it can break and hold above this level.”

Scotiabank also highlighted that important resistance lies close to 1.3620. Any clear break above this could increase speculation of a move towards 41-month highs near 1.3800.

GBP/USD forecast factors remain centred on both US and UK developments, alongside key geopolitical events. ING observed: “The proximity to tomorrow’s Trump-Putin meeting might argue against adding much more USD shorts just yet. But the bias remains unequivocally negative for the greenback.”

The UK economy recorded 0.4% GDP growth in June, beating forecasts of 0.2% and reversing a 0.1% contraction in May. The second quarter as a whole saw 0.3% growth compared with expectations of just 0.1%.

ING said: “At face value, the UK’s 0.3% second-quarter growth performance looks reasonable amid a flurry of global and domestic headwinds. But this is largely concentrated in components not intrinsically linked to underlying economic performance.”

They added: “We certainly expect the GDP figures in the second half of the year to have a weaker flavour to them. The jobs market is under pressure; payrolled employment has fallen in eight out of the last nine months. Investment intentions are lower, too. And despite the UK-US trade deal, the much bigger issue for UK firms is the uncertainty surrounding the global economic outlook caused by tariffs.”

The dollar’s weakness has been compounded by growing expectations for aggressive Fed rate cuts. In September, the focus is no longer on whether the Fed will cut, but by how much.

There has been increased lobbying for a 50-basis-point cut from Treasury Secretary Bessent, with the Administration also pressing for a more aggressive easing path.

Bessent stated: “I think we could go in series of rate cuts here, starting with a 50bps cut in September. If you look at any model it suggests that we should probably be 150, 175 basis points lower.”

Scotiabank commented: “Investors are forced to ponder implications for Fed independence, US data integrity and whether, even with inflation sticky around 3% still, the Fed might proceed with a (perhaps aggressive?) rate cut in September anyway.”

Improve Eye Health With These 6 Best Vitamins and Supplements

By |2025-08-15T11:09:47+03:00August 15, 2025|Dietary Supplements News, News|0 Comments

The bright summer sunshine can do wonders for your mental health, but the increase in allergens and harmful UV rays is not as kind to your eyes. Annoyances like watery eyes, dry eyes or blurry vision are common in this season, but it’s possible to make your eyes more resilient to these issues.

Having a balanced diet that incorporates dark green leafy vegetables and essential fatty acids is important for more than just your nutrition and gut health. Everything you eat can impact specific organs, like your eyes. Fortunately, that means you can incorporate specific vitamins, supplements and foods into your diet to support your eye health and vision.

However, make sure you talk to your doctor before making any changes, even if it’s just including more eye-boosting vitamins and supplements in your diet. They can help you figure out what a balanced diet looks like for you, especially if you want to focus on a specific aspect of your health.

The best vitamins and supplements for eye health

In addition to a balanced diet, here are the best vitamins and supplements for your eyes. Luckily, you can get most of these added supplements for less than $10.

Vitamin A

Assortment of high vitamin A foods like carrots, nuts, broccoli, butter, cheese, seeds and eggs.

Vitamin A supports your vision, immune system, heart, lungs and overall growth and development. Specifically, vitamin A helps you see a full spectrum of light, as the vitamin produces pigments in the retina. It can also keep your eyes from drying out. You can find vitamin A in foods such as salmon, broccoli, eggs, carrots and fortified breakfast cereals.

You have probably heard of the magic of carrots. Yes, it’s true: Carrots are great for your eyes. Carrots (and other vividly colored fruits and vegetables) are high in beta-carotene, which is a compound that your body uses to make vitamin A. Beta-carotene is also available in a supplement form, although it isn’t as common as vitamin A and is often more expensive.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C is found in foods like citrus fruit, bell peppers and tomatoes.

Vitamin C is like sunscreen for your eyes: It helps protect them from UV damage. The more time you spend outside and under the sun, the greater the risk for damage. According to the American Academy of Ophthalmology, too long in the sun can cause irreversible damage. Vitamin C can also lower your risk of cataracts, a disease that causes the lens of your eyes to become cloudy.

While a recent study found that vitamin C supplementation was effective in patients who were already vitamin C deficient, more studies are needed to truly understand the relationship between vitamin C and a lower risk of cataracts. In addition to getting enough vitamin C, avoid tanning beds, and if you are outside, wear sunglasses and a hat to protect your eyes.

Omega-3s

Optometrists regularly recommend their patients consume omega-3s, and if a patient isn’t getting enough of these fatty acids in their diet, try a supplement. Omega-3s are mainly found in fatty fish such as tuna, salmon, mackerel or herring and some nuts and seeds.

The American Optometric Association points to omega-3s as a nutrient that can slow the progress of age-related macular degeneration. Studies have also found that they can help prevent dry eye disease. These nutrients are great for both conditions due to their anti-inflammatory effects.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E it's food sources

Another powerful antioxidant, vitamin E is vital to all our cells and cell functions. It helps to protect our bodies from cancer-causing free radicals and plays an important role in vision. Studies have shown that vitamin E can help protect the retinas from free radicals that can cause eye disease.

Vitamin C, another antioxidant, has more properties that help regeneration. Vitamin E can only help to protect the cells already there. But vitamin E can slow the progression of age-related macular degeneration. The American Optometric Association recommends 400 IU of vitamin E a day.

Zinc

Zinc is found in almost all multivitamins because it is such an essential nutrient to the body. It is used to boost the immune system and help the body heal from wounds quickly. Zinc also aids in eye health.

Zinc helps vitamin A create melanin (a pigment that protects the eyes) and may shield the eyes from age-related macular degeneration. The American Optometric Association recommends 40 to 80 mg a day to slow the progression.

Lutein and zeaxanthin

Lutein and zeaxanthin are known to be important to our eyes. Lutein and zeaxanthin are carotenoids found in red and yellowish fruits and vegetables, as these compounds give the produce their vibrant colors. Carotenoids, also powerful antioxidants, are vital to eye health. They protect the eyes from free radicals that can cause damage. Lutein and zeaxanthin, specifically, have been found to prevent damage to retinas.

These carotenoids can also slow the progression of age-related macular degeneration. The American Optometric Association recommends a daily amount of 10 mg of lutein and 2 mg of zeaxanthin. While you can find lutein and zeaxanthin in supplement form, one bottle is on the pricier side. You may find it better, easier and more affordable to just eat more fruits and vegetables.

Vitamins and supplements found in foods

Vitamin A Salmon, broccoli, eggs, carrots and fortified breakfast cereals
Vitamin C Kale, broccoli, oranges, lemons, strawberries and Brussels sprouts
Omega-3s Tuna, salmon, herring, mackerel, chia seeds, flaxseed and walnuts

What to consider

CNET Health Tips badge art

Most vitamins and supplements are generally considered safe for people to take, as they’re nutrients your body naturally requires. You should always talk to your doctor before starting any supplements. Some vitamins and supplements can interact with various medications. Check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking any new vitamins or supplements in conjunction with certain medications. Especially if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult a medical provider first. Your doctor should be able to safely guide you to the best vitamins and supplements for eye health, as well as proper dosages.

Eye health tips

In addition to the best vitamins and supplements for eye health, there are other ways you can protect your eyes and preserve your vision health:

  • Wear sunglasses: Sunglasses block harmful UV light, decreasing your risk of cataracts, eye cancer and sunburn.
  • Screen breaks: The American Optometric Association recommends the 20-20-20 rule, which states that every 20 minutes, you look away from your screen at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds.
  • Physical activity: The American Academy of Ophthalmology reported on a study that found a correlation between exercise and eye damage prevention, though more studies are needed.
  • Avoid smoking: Smoking cigarettes can lead to eye diseases that result in vision loss and blindness, according to the Food and Drug Administration.
  • Get regular eye exams: Even if you have perfect vision, it is important to regularly get an eye exam to catch potential issues early. How often you should get an eye exam depends on your age. For instance, people ages 20 to 39 should get an eye exam every five years, while those ages 65 and up should get an eye exam every one to two years.
  • Remove your makeup: Before bed, always remove your makeup to prevent eye irritation and inflammation.

Vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin E, omega-3s, zinc, lutein and zeaxanthin are all important vitamins for the eyes. If you’re curious which vitamins you need more of, consult your doctor.

This can vary from person to person, but the best way to find out what vitamin is lacking for your eyes is to consult your doctor. Your doctor can schedule tests to help determine whether you’re lacking a certain vitamin that could be beneficial for your eye health.

According to Eye MD Monterey, vitamins B12 and B6 can improve eye health, support the optic nerve, reduce your chances of having blind spots and reduce the chances of having age-related macular degeneration, which causes blurred vision.

Vitamins for your eyes are especially helpful when you’re deficient in any essential vitamins for vision. These include vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin E, omega-3s, zinc and lutein and zeaxanthin. Studies have found that these vitamins and nutrients can help protect your eyes and even slow the process of age-related eye diseases. While these supplements are not a cure, they support eye health.

You can take vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin E, omega-3s, zinc and lutein and zeaxanthin. While all are available in supplement form at various prices, you can naturally obtain these vitamins and nutrients in a balanced diet.

According to Eye MD Monterey, a deficiency of B vitamins, primarily vitamin B1 and B12, leads to blurry vision. A lack of these can cause damage to your optic nerve (optic neuropathy). In addition to using the right supplements, try to include more leafy greens and salmon in your diet to increase B vitamin levels in your body.

$100M Ripple + XRP Bet From Nasdaq Firm – Is $10 XRP Now Inevitable?

By |2025-08-15T11:09:22+03:00August 15, 2025|Crypto News, News|0 Comments

Vivopower is the latest corporation to launch a crypto-based treasury strategy, with a $100 million investment in Ripple, which favors a bullish XRP price prediction.

Founded in 2014, this company specializes in building a specific type of electric vehicle for the mining industry and solar energy solutions that power crypto mining operations.

In May this year, they launched a private placement to raise more than $120 million to invest in XRP (XRP) as part of a treasury strategy.

The company partnered with Bitgo for the acquisition and custody of these XRP tokens. As a result, VivoPower has become a ‘de facto’ vehicle through which investors in the United States can acquire XRP indirectly.

Similar to what Strategy did with Bitcoin (BTC), VivoPower’s share price will progressively perform more similarly to XRP as this treasury increases in size.

Meanwhile, the company announced today a partnership with the crypto staking platform Flare to launch a wrapped version of XRP that generates yield on its investment. All of the proceeds earned from this initiative will be reinvested to further increase the XRP fund.

This favors a bullish XRP price prediction as it will create a significant source of ongoing demand for the asset.

XRP Price Prediction: Path to $10 Seems Paved

XRP (XRP) has gone up by 1.4% in the past 24 hours and has once again hit a ceiling at around $3.35 and has been retreating off that level since Friday.

The price could now head to the $3 area once again to find the necessary liquidity for its next leg up. We could expect a breakout to $3.5 in the near term fueled by the positive momentum that cryptocurrencies have been experiencing lately.

The path seems pretty straightforward for a move toward $4 and these kinds of announcements support a long-term bullish XRP price prediction as institutional adoption of blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies as financial assets keeps accelerating.

Hitting $10 this year isn’t out of the question for XRP.

If momentum keeps building and corporations like VivoPower keep pouring in hundreds of millions, the buying pressure could be enough to push Ripple’s native asset to that milestone before the year is out.

As most altcoins continue to make their way to a new all-time high, the best crypto presales like Maxi Doge (MAXI) stand to deliver much bigger gains than well-established tokens.

Web3 Gaming Rebounds in July With $60 Million of Investments

By |2025-08-15T09:24:59+03:00August 15, 2025|News, NFT News|0 Comments

Investments in Web3 gaming projects surged to $60 million in July, after a three-month lull, with investors focusing on games built around fun, according to blockchain analytics platform DappRadar.

March still had the highest month for Web3 gaming funding this year at $69 million, but after a slump in April, May and June, capital was flowing again “primarily to projects with proven teams, strong IP, or infrastructure supporting multiple games,” DappRadar analyst Sara Gherghelas said in a report published on Thursday.

However, smaller studios were suffering, and projects without traction or sustainable economies were closing or pivoting, according to Gherghelas.

“It’s a Darwinian stage for Web3 gaming: tough for small players, but potentially healthy for long-term stability.”
