Luxury French tea house Mariage Frères has unveiled its latest creations, including new tea blends and two new tea-flavoured galette des rois (King Cakes).

Its newest holiday tea is named for one of the Three Wise Men, Balthazar. Presented in the signature black “Icône” tin, Balthazar Tea offers the flavours of “king cake” – almonds enriched with notes of chocolate, orange blossom, figs, and plum. The 100-gram tin retails £29.

Mariage Frères also announced its latest tea in its Thé des Signes collection, which accords each of its 12 blends a personality from the signs of the Asian zodiac. 2025 is the Year of the Snake: charming, mysterious and intuitive, they bring wisdom and protection to all those around them. The new Snake tea is a blend of green tea, subtle mint, liquorice and rose petals adorned with goji berries from Himalaya. Housed in a silkscreened ultraviolet pagoda-shaped box, the Year of Snake tea retails for £28 (100g).

Mariage Frères’ new products also include tea-flavoured cakes or galette des rois:

• Matcha & Pomegranate Galette: features matcha-infused frangipane and pomegranate confit, encased in caramelized puff pastry. MSRP: £49.
• Marco Polo Rhapsody Galette: combines a frangipane base with Marco Polo Rhapsody white tea, blueberries, and candied blackcurrants in a glossy black puff pastry. MSRP: £49.

The teas are available now, while the galette des rois will be available starting 26 December at Mariage Frères’ Covent Garden store or online at mariagefreres.com.
