Recent reports indicate that Iran’s attacks on ships going through the Strait of Hormuz have increased. According to the reports, the traffic through the Strait could be slowing down. It’s hard to estimate whether oil flows through the Strait of Hormuz have declined as shipowners do everything they can to hide their vessels from Iran.
WTI oil moved above the resistance at $92.50 – $93.00 and is trying to settle above the $94.00 level. In case this attempt is successful, WTI oil will head towards the next resistance level, which is located in the $96.50 – $97.00 range. RSI is in the moderate territory, so there is plenty of room to gain momentum in the near term.
On the support side, a move below the $92.00 level will push WTI oil towards the 50 MA at $89.88. If WTI oil settles below the 50 MA, it will get to the test of the support at $88.50 – $89.00.
Be aware that the boundary lines of the formation provide only a rough estimate of potential resistance because price movements within the pattern can be irregular. Given the current rising upper boundary, silver could test that boundary near the falling trendline that has defined dynamic resistance during the decline of more than two months. The 50-day moving average near $64.32 can be used as a rough proxy for that trendline.
The weekly chart offers another perspective on the potential for a reversal. Last week, a doji hammer candlestick pattern formed, with a bullish reversal signal requiring an upside breakout above $62.04. That would signal a bullish reversal on the larger weekly timeframe.
The coffee market on October 13, 2026, showed signs of recovery in the key growing regions of the Central Highlands. The current purchase price for bulk green coffee beans ranges from 92,500–93,200 VND/kg, a slight increase compared to the previous update. Notably, within Lam Dong province itself, the price difference between the two traditional production areas is as much as 700 VND/kg.
Domestic price increases occurred as international coffee markets rebounded across the board. London Robusta reached $3,478 per ton for the near-term contract, while New York Arabica surpassed 290 US cents per pound, drawing further attention to the outlook for coffee prices in the coming days.
Domestic coffee prices continued to rise on October 13th in purchasing areas. The highest price of 93,200 VND/kg was recorded in Dak Lak , Gia Lai, and the former Dak Nong area of Lam Dong province. The traditional Lam Dong region had lower prices, at 92,500 VND/kg.
In Dak Lak province , the price of coffee today is being purchased at 93,200 VND/kg, an increase of 200 VND/kg. This is one of the areas with the highest prices in the survey, indicating an improvement in the market compared to the previous level of 93,000 VND/kg.
In Gia Lai province , coffee prices also increased by 200 VND/kg, reaching 93,200 VND/kg. The purchase price in Gia Lai’s traditional coffee-growing areas is now comparable to Dak Lak, placing it among the leading prices in the Central Highlands.
In Lam Dong province , the former Lam Dong area recorded an increase of 300 VND/kg, bringing the purchase price to 92,500 VND/kg. Despite having the highest increase in the surveyed area, this region is still about 700 VND/kg lower than the other areas.
In the former Dak Nong area, now part of Lam Dong province , the price of coffee reached 93,200 VND/kg, an increase of 200 VND/kg. This price is higher than in the former Lam Dong region, even though both are now part of the same province after administrative reorganization.
| Province/region for procurement | Price (VND/kg) | Change |
|---|---|---|
| Dak Lak | 93,200 | +200 |
| Gia Lai | 93,200 | +200 |
| Lam Dong (formerly Lam Dong area) | 92,500 | +300 |
| Lam Dong (formerly Dak Nong area) | 93,200 | +200 |
Unit: VND/kg of bulk green coffee beans. Prices may vary depending on bean quality, moisture content, and purchasing location.
Thus, coffee prices in the Central Highlands are showing a slight recovery after a period of volatility in early October. However, the increase is only 200-300 VND/kg, which has not yet created a significant change in the overall purchasing price.
The price difference between regions continues to be a noteworthy point. Within Lam Dong province, the former Dak Nong area is currently at 93,200 VND/kg, while the former Lam Dong area is at 92,500 VND/kg. This difference may be related to product quality, procurement location, transportation costs, and the specific needs of each business.
Besides green coffee beans in bulk, the roasted and ground coffee market has a higher price level due to processing costs, weight loss after roasting, sorting, and packaging.
According to the updated reference price list on October 12, 2026, Robusta S18 Clean is priced at 163,000 VND/kg, high-quality Robusta CLC at 175,700 VND/kg, and Robusta Honey at 228,600 VND/kg.
In the Arabica group, the reference price for Arabica Clean is 229,600 VND/kg, while high-quality Arabica (CLC) reaches 289,500 VND/kg.
| Product | Reference price (VND/kg) |
|---|---|
| Robusta S18 Clean | 163,000 |
| High-quality Robusta CLC | 175,700 |
| Culi S18 Clean | 174,200 |
| Robusta Honey | 228,600 |
| Arabica Clean | 229,600 |
| High-quality Arabica CLC | 289,500 |
This price list for roasted and ground coffee is for reference only, as of October 12, 2026. It does not reflect the bulk green coffee bean purchase price as of October 13. Actual selling prices may vary depending on the supplier, quality, and product specifications.
On the international market, world coffee prices recorded a recovery session for both main product lines. Robusta on the London exchange increased across all surveyed maturities, while Arabica on the New York exchange saw a stronger percentage increase.
According to the price list updated on October 13th, the Robusta contract for November 2026 delivery reached $3,478 per ton, an increase of $8 per ton, equivalent to 0.23%, compared to the previous session.
The January 2027 contract rose $9/tonne to $3,463/tonne. The March 2027 contract reached $3,437/tonne, up $15/tonne.
Notably, longer-term contracts also saw price increases. The July 2027 contract rose by $26/tonne, the strongest absolute increase among the five contracts surveyed.
| Term | Price (USD/ton) | Change |
|---|---|---|
| November 2026 | 3,478 | +8 |
| 01/2027 | 3,463 | +9 |
| 03/2027 | 3,437 | +15 |
| 05/2027 | 3,422 | +20 |
| 07/2027 | 3,409 | +26 |
The simultaneous increase across all maturities indicates improved buying pressure in the most recent session. However, near-term contract prices remain higher than far-term contracts, reflecting differences in supply and demand and price expectations at each delivery time.
On the New York exchange, Arabica saw a more significant increase than Robusta. The December 2026 contract rose 3.65 US cents/pound, or 1.27%, to 290.60 US cents/pound.
The March 2027 contract rose 3.70 US cents/pound to 283.50 US cents/pound. Contracts for May, July, and September 2027 also increased by 3.40–3.50 US cents/pound.
| Term | Price (US cents/pound) | Change |
|---|---|---|
| December 2026 | 290.60 | +3.65 |
| 03/2027 | 283.50 | +3.70 |
| 05/2027 | 280.00 | +3.45 |
| 07/2027 | 277.55 | +3.40 |
| 09/2027 | 275.35 | +3.50 |
Arabica prices rose by over 1% across all contract periods, outpacing Robusta’s increase in the same update. This development reflects market interest in the outlook for Arabica supply from major producing countries.
According to market data, Colombian coffee production for the 2025–2026 crop year is projected to decrease by approximately 15% compared to the previous year, to 12.65 million bags. Exports are also expected to fall by 12%, to 11.78 million bags.
Conversely, Brazil continues to be a factor that could limit the recovery. The country’s green coffee bean exports in September increased by 3.2% year-on-year, to approximately 3.58 million bags.
Supplies from Brazil help alleviate shortages in the international market, but also make it difficult for coffee prices to maintain their strong upward trend unless demand improves correspondingly.
Weather conditions are also being closely monitored. Concerns about the development of El Niño could affect production prospects in some coffee-growing regions. However, the extent of the impact will depend on temperature changes, rainfall, and the plant’s growth stage.
In Vietnam, the market is focusing its attention on the 2026–2027 coffee crop year. New supply, harvesting progress, and purchasing demand from export companies will play a significant role in determining bulk green coffee prices in the coming weeks.
Domestic coffee prices are receiving support from the recovery of both Robusta and Arabica on the international market. However, the current increase in the Central Highlands is still relatively small, not enough to confirm a sustained upward trend.
In the short term, if London Robusta prices continue to improve and demand from export businesses increases, domestic coffee prices could continue to be supported.
Conversely, supply from the new harvest could put pressure on the market if the amount of goods brought to market increases faster than demand. Developments in Brazilian exports, Colombian production, and weather changes in major growing regions could also cause market volatility.
For coffee growers in Lam Dong, Dak Lak, and Gia Lai provinces, the purchase price at local dealers remains crucial information to monitor directly, as fluctuations in international futures prices are not always immediately reflected in domestic transactions.
Overall, coffee prices in the Central Highlands today, October 13, 2026 , have risen to 92,500–93,200 VND/kg, while the global market has recovered across the board. The developments in subsequent sessions will depend on the speed of bringing new crop goods to market and the ability to maintain buying pressure on the London and New York exchanges.
Welcome, my fellow traders! I have prepared a price forecast for US Crude, XAUUSD, and EURUSD using a combination of the margin zones method and technical analysis. Based on the market analysis, I have identified entry signals for intraday traders.
Gold is trading in a short-term downtrend.
The article covers the following subjects:
Oil is trading within a short-term downtrend. The price is testing resistance A at 91.18–90.73. Currently, sellers are holding this zone. Therefore, one may consider short trades, with targets at 88.75 and 86.30.
If the price breaks above resistance A, the upward correction will continue toward resistance B at 93.61–92.95. Short trades can be considered near this zone.
Sell/hold short trades opened near resistance A at 91.18–90.73. TakeProfit: 88.75, 86.30. StopLoss: 92.24.
Gold is trading within a short-term downtrend. Today, the price attempted to test the resistance at 4,235–4,220 but failed to reach it. Once the asset tests this zone and a sell signal appears, consider short trades, with the first target at 4,150 and the second target near 4,066.
If the gold price exceeds the 4,235 level, the short-term trend may turn upward.
Sell near resistance B at 4,235–4,220. TakeProfit: 4,150, 4,066. StopLoss: 4,262.
The short-term downtrend remains intact. The euro is currently trading in a correction phase. You can hold the short positions opened last week at resistance A at 1.1253–1.1245. The price has already hit the first sell target near 1.1207. The next target is the October 5 low of 1.1161.
If the euro price settles above resistance A, the upward correction will continue toward resistance B at 1.1299–1.1287.
Hold part of short trades opened near resistance A at 1.1253–1.1245. TakeProfit: 1.1161. StopLoss: at breakeven.

The 2-hour chart for Brent crude shows a price of around $105.50. Price has maintained its more recent higher lows sequence.
Also notable is the fact that price is comfortably above both moving averages as well as the rising support trendline. The recent dip from the $107 area has not altered the bigger bullish scenario.
The first target I am watching is $107.22. A break above that level would expose $109.90 and then $112.68. Support is situated at $102.30, $99.62 and $96.87.
RSI is above the 50 line. I am bullish while $102.30 and the rising trendline are holding. A close above $107.22 would be more bullish for the $109.90 area, and a close below $102.30 would be more bearish.
The weekly chart also supports the potential for an eventual resolution to the upside above $3.298. Last week, a bullish continuation signal was confirmed by a weekly close above the prior week’s high of $3.18. This resulted in a higher weekly low and higher high, suggesting that the weekly bullish trend was continuing after a higher swing low formed at $2.817 (A) last month.
If the bullish advance resumes after the current short-term consolidation, the September high of $3.317 and June high of $3.396 define a range of potential resistance. In addition, a measured move points to $3.41 as a potential upside target. Because this target is relatively close to the July high of $3.396, the two levels form a potential resistance zone between $3.396 and $3.41. A test of that zone could therefore mark the next significant challenge for buyers if natural gas breaks above the nearer resistance levels. For now, the ability to hold support near $3.10 and break above $3.204 remains important to the bullish outlook.
WTI oil rallied as traders focused on the situation in Saudi Arabia. Iran-backed Houthis attacked Saudi airports over the weekend. Saudi Arabia said that the “cowardly terrorist attack”, which led to civilian deaths, was a war crime by the Houthis.
Oil traders bet that Saudi Arabia would be forced to respond, engaging in a full war against the Houthis. In turn, the Houthis could attack oil facilities in Saudi Arabia. The U.S. may choose to help Saudi Arabia in the war against the Houthis. Put simply, the risks of additional escalation in the region are rising on a daily basis.

Natural gas gapped lower to kick off the trading session and then continued to fall toward the 200-day EMA. That being said, keep in mind that Monday is a bank holiday in the United States and Canada, so we’ll have to wait and see whether or not that makes a difference with liquidity. A huge portion of natural gas trading is done out of North America. It is a North American contract, and therefore this is important.
Ultimately, not a lot has changed. We are still stuck between the $3 and $3.30 levels. This is a market that is starting to roll over into colder temperatures, and that should help demand, therefore increasing price. But we are at that time of year in the United States where it might get a little cold at night, but it is warm enough during the day that you are not really heating your home.
Platinum completed its latest bullish corrective rebound after touching the $1705.00 level, before moving into sideways trading in an attempt to confirm the continuation of its current bearish trend, with $1740.00 now acting as an additional resistance barrier.
The conflicting signals from the main technical indicators may push the price into further sideways trading. We will therefore continue to wait for the price to gather the necessary negative momentum to renew its bearish attempts, gradually moving toward $1650.00 and $1605.00.
The expected trading range for today is between $1740.00 and $1740.00
Trend forecast: Bearish
