EUR/USD Forecast: Euro Bulls Reappear After Weak US Data

By |2024-10-30T18:25:34+03:00October 30, 2024|Forex News, News|0 Comments

  • US job vacancies fell to 7.44 million, missing estimates of 7.98 million.
  • US  consumer confidence jumped to 108.7, well above forecasts of 99.5.
  • The upcoming US presidential election is causing uncertainty.

The EUR/USD forecast shows a return of bullish momentum after a long decline. The greenback eased after employment figures in the previous session revealed unexpected weakness. At the same time, the uncertainty surrounding the US election has sent traders to the safe-haven gold.

The US released mixed economic reports on Tuesday on consumer sentiment and employment. However, market participants focused on the employment figures since the Fed closely monitors the labor sector.

The JOLTs job openings report revealed that vacancies fell to 7.44 million, missing estimates of 7.98 million. The decline showed that there were fewer open positions for the unemployed, indicating weaker demand for labor. The soft figures solidified bets for a November Fed rate cut.

Meanwhile, consumer confidence jumped to 108.7, well above forecasts of 99.5. However, this was not enough to significantly shift the outlook for rate cuts.

Traders are on edge ahead of GDP and monthly employment figures that will show the state of the US economy. The nonfarm payrolls report will likely reveal an addition of 111,000 jobs in October, well below September’s job growth. A miss would raise fears of a weak labor sector, boosting Fed rate cut expectations. On the other hand, continued resilience might lower the chances of two rate cuts before the year ends.

At the same time, the upcoming US presidential election is causing uncertainty, sending traders to the sidelines. The race between Trump and Kamala is tight, meaning there is no certainty over the possible outcome. Consequently, market volatility will likely increase before, during, and after the voting.

EUR/USD technical forecast: Bullish RSI divergence

EUR/USD Forecast: Euro Bulls Reappear After Weak US Data
EUR/USD 4-hour chart

On the technical side, the EUR/USD price has made a new high above the 30-SMA, supporting a bullish bias. At the same time, the price trades above the SMA, and the RSI is in bullish territory above 50.

The downtrend recently paused after the RSI made a bullish divergence. The weakness in the downtrend allowed bulls to take charge by breaking above the SMA. However, to solidify the new bias, the price must stay above the SMA and reach higher resistance levels like 1.0900.

Intermittent Fasting for Women – HealthyWomen

By |2024-10-30T18:22:21+03:00October 30, 2024|Fitness News, News|0 Comments

Medically reviewed by Isabel Smith, M.S., R.N., C.D.N.

You’ve probably heard of intermittent fasting. There are hundreds of thousands of posts dedicated to the trend on social media, and celebrities like Jennifer Aniston and Cameron Diaz swear it’s how they maintain their fit physiques.

Famous bods aside, the eating pattern has been linked to a number of health perks, including weight loss and reduced risk for Type 2 diabetes.

That said, if you were hoping that “intermittent” meant something different than regular ol’ fasting — it doesn’t. It still means that you’re not eating for long periods of time — maybe even the whole day, depending on the type of fasting method.

The practice of abstaining from food for periods of time has been around for centuries, but the long-term effects of intermittent fasting are still being studied. This is especially important to note for women and people assigned female at birth: Preliminary results from a recent study found that people who restricted their eating time to eight hours a day as part of intermittent fasting were more likely to die from cardiovascular disease, which is the number one cause of death of women in the U.S.

Read: What Women Need to Know About Cardiovascular Disease >>

Here’s what you need to know to get up to speed on intermittent fasting.

What is intermittent fasting?

Intermittent fasting is an eating plan that involves limiting your food intake to certain time periods. There are different types of intermittent fasting, but all are focused on when to eat — and when not to eat — rather than what to eat.

Types of intermittent fasting

There are several different types of intermittent fasting, which include:

  • Time-restricted eating: Here, you eat during certain hours of the day. For example, the 16/8 method means you fast for 16 hours and eat during the remaining eight hours left in the day. Another version, the 12/12 method, means you fast for 12 hours and can eat during the other 12-hour window.
  • Alternate-day fasting: This type of fasting is just like it sounds. You fast one day and eat the next with no dietary restrictions.
  • Periodic fasting (5:2): For two days out of the week (not back to back), you fast completely or only consume around 500 calories and, for the other five days, you eat a healthy diet.

Benefits of intermittent fasting

One of the more appealing aspects to intermittent fasting is that it’s pretty simple. You don’t need any special foods or ingredients or powders or tapeworms — just a clock and willpower.

But, does it really have any health benefits? To date, the research on intermittent fasting hasn’t been definitive. Few studies have been conducted, and the ones that have been conducted haven’t always had a lot of participants. Some studies revealed some potential benefits, but more research is needed to confirm the results.

Weight loss is one of the main benefits associated with intermittent fasting. When you’re fasting, you’re not consuming any calories, and taking in fewer calories can lead you to lose weight. That’s because your body exhausts its sugar supply/calories and starts burning fat when you go hours without food.

Less food equals less weight. This may seem like a no-brainer, but in reality, the lower-calorie approach may not work for everyone. Some studies have shown that intermittent fasting had little or no impact on long-term weight loss.

Weight loss aside, when it comes to health overall, intermittent fasting may have benefits for some people with certain health conditions.

  • Type 2 diabetes: Intermittent fasting has been linked to better blood sugar levels, enhanced insulin sensitivity, weight loss and a reduction in medication needed to manage the disease.
  • Overweight and obesity:Studies show that intermittent fasting has helped people living with overweight and obesity lose weight, although researchers noted that more studies need to be done on the connection.
  • High blood pressure: Intermittent fasting may help prevent hypertension. In one study, alternate-day fasting helped participants lower blood pressure and heart rate.

Intermittent fasting disadvantages

Have you ever felt positively murderous with hunger if you skip your afternoon snack or smoothie at breakfast? (Asking for a friend.) That might happen during intermittent fasting. Going without food for a long period of time can be mentally and physically trying and may cause hanger (hungry anger).

It’s worth taking an inventory of how hangry you become when you don’t eat before considering intermittent fasting.

Other side effects can include:

  • Changes in mood
  • Dizziness
  • Fatigue
  • Headache attacks
  • Low blood sugar
  • Constipation
  • Sleeping problems

Who shouldn’t try intermittent fasting?

Tendencies toward hanger aside, intermittent fasting can be dangerous for some people.

You should steer clear of intermittent fasting if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding because the reduction in calories can lead to nutrient deficiency. It’s also not recommended for the elderly or for people with certain health conditions. These include:

  • Type 1 diabetes
  • Osteoporosis
  • Disordered eating
  • A weakened immune system
  • Reactive hypoglycemia

Intermittent fasting and cardiovascular risk

Like all eating plans, there are risks and side effects to intermittent fasting, and this method may not be for everyone. As mentioned before, a 2024 study found people who limited their eating to an eight-hour window had a 91% higher risk for cardiovascular death compared to people who ate across 12-16 hours a day.

However, a 2024 review of 23 studies found that intermittent fasting could help lower total and bad cholesterol (LDL) levels and triglycerides and reduce fat tissue in the bodies of people living with overweight and obesity — all of which can help reduce the risk for cardiovascular disease.

So, that’s clear as mud, right? This is why it’s important to talk to your healthcare provider about your personal risk factors and medical history before starting any new eating plan.

XAG/USD trades with modest losses above $34.00, bullish bias remains

By |2024-10-30T18:18:26+03:00October 30, 2024|Forex News, News|0 Comments

  • Silver struggles to capitalize on the precious day’s positive move and drifts lower on Wednesday.
  • The technical setup favors bulls and supports prospects for the emergence of some dip-buying.
  • A sustained break below the $33.10-$33.00 area is needed to negate the near-term positive bias.

Silver (XAG/USD) meets with a fresh supply on Wednesday and drops back closer to the $34.00 mark during the first half of the European session, reversing a part of the previous day’s move up.

From a technical perspective, the XAG/USD is holding comfortably above important daily moving averages – 50-day, 100-day and 200-day SMAs. Moreover, oscillators on the daily chart maintain their positive bias and are still away from being in the overbought territory, suggesting that the path of least resistance for the white metal remains to the upside.

Hence, any subsequent slide is more likely to find decent support near the $33.70 horizontal zone. This is followed by last week’s swing low, around the $33.10 area, which if broken decisively might shift the bias in favor of bearish traders. The XAG/USD might then accelerate the slide towards the $32.20-$32.15 intermediate support en route to the $32.00 round figure.

Some follow-through selling below the $31.70-$31.65 region could drag the XAG/USD towards the $31.00 mark. The downward trajectory could extend further towards the $30.50 area and the monthly swing low, close to the $30.00 psychological mark tested on October 8.

On the flip side, bulls might now wait for a sustained strength beyond the $34.50-$34.55 area before making a fresh attempt to conquer the $35.00 psychological mark. The subsequent move up has the potential to lift the XAG/USD further towards the October 2012 swing high, around the $35.35-$35.40 region.

Silver FAQs

Silver is a precious metal highly traded among investors. It has been historically used as a store of value and a medium of exchange. Although less popular than Gold, traders may turn to Silver to diversify their investment portfolio, for its intrinsic value or as a potential hedge during high-inflation periods. Investors can buy physical Silver, in coins or in bars, or trade it through vehicles such as Exchange Traded Funds, which track its price on international markets.

Silver prices can move due to a wide range of factors. Geopolitical instability or fears of a deep recession can make Silver price escalate due to its safe-haven status, although to a lesser extent than Gold’s. As a yieldless asset, Silver tends to rise with lower interest rates. Its moves also depend on how the US Dollar (USD) behaves as the asset is priced in dollars (XAG/USD). A strong Dollar tends to keep the price of Silver at bay, whereas a weaker Dollar is likely to propel prices up. Other factors such as investment demand, mining supply – Silver is much more abundant than Gold – and recycling rates can also affect prices.

Silver is widely used in industry, particularly in sectors such as electronics or solar energy, as it has one of the highest electric conductivity of all metals – more than Copper and Gold. A surge in demand can increase prices, while a decline tends to lower them. Dynamics in the US, Chinese and Indian economies can also contribute to price swings: for the US and particularly China, their big industrial sectors use Silver in various processes; in India, consumers’ demand for the precious metal for jewellery also plays a key role in setting prices.

Silver prices tend to follow Gold’s moves. When Gold prices rise, Silver typically follows suit, as their status as safe-haven assets is similar. The Gold/Silver ratio, which shows the number of ounces of Silver needed to equal the value of one ounce of Gold, may help to determine the relative valuation between both metals. Some investors may consider a high ratio as an indicator that Silver is undervalued, or Gold is overvalued. On the contrary, a low ratio might suggest that Gold is undervalued relative to Silver.

10 magnesium-rich foods to add to your diet

By |2024-10-30T16:54:33+03:00October 30, 2024|Dietary Supplements News, News|0 Comments

Magnesium-rich foods and supplements are top of mind for everyone (and their algorithms) lately—and for good reason. As Samantha Dieras, DCN, RD, director of ambulatory nutrition services at Mount Sinai Hospital, explains, this mineral plays a vital role in over 300 biochemical reactions in our bodies, such as protein synthesis, muscle and nerve function, blood pressure regulation, energy production, inflammation management, metabolism, and bone development. In other words, magnesium is pretty essential for our overall health.

The easiest way to make sure you’re getting enough of this important mineral is through the foods you eat. Below are the 10 magnesium-rich foods that experts recommend incorporating into your daily diet if you haven’t already.

Dark Chocolate

One of the most magnesium-rich foods, dark chocolate comes with a host of health benefits. Dieras explains that it reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease, may lower blood pressure, and improves brain function and mood. Because dark chocolate also contains iron, zinc, copper, and phosphorus along with magnesium, it may also help with weight management.

Avocados

Another food that has many health benefits, Dieras says that avocados may help with high cholesterol and blood pressure, and maintain gastrointestinal, brain, and bone health. It also contains fat, fibre, and vitamins, making it good for managing weight and blood sugar levels.

Nuts

Nuts are similar to other magnesium-rich foods in that they play a role in heart health, blood sugar regulation, weight control, and eye health. Dieras says that it contains magnesium, antioxidants, fibre, and protein. Depending on how nuts are prepared, they can also have anti-inflammatory properties.

Legumes

Legumes, which include chickpeas, edamame, and black beans, are packed with magnesium, fibre, B vitamins, iron, copper, zinc, and phosphorus. Dieras says they can help with healthy digestion, boost heart health, and, thanks to their antioxidants, they can contribute to a reduction in cell damage.

Almonds

Angie Asche, MS, RD at Centr, says that one serving of almonds can fulfil about 20 per cent of your daily magnesium intake while also providing you with vitamin E and protein.

Leafy greens

If you’re already eating spinach, kale, collard greens, and other green leafy vegetables regularly, you’re on the right track for maintaining your magnesium levels. Studies show that a daily intake of leafy greens provides you with nutrients such as fibre and can potentially help maintain blood sugar levels.

Seeds

Asche calls seeds “nutritional powerhouses.” If you consider mixing flax and/or chia seeds, she says they are also good sources of omega-3 fatty acids. Chia seeds also contain antioxidant properties and can have positive effects on cardiovascular disease. Hemp seeds provide protein while Diera says that pumpkin seeds are known to be very high in magnesium.

Whole grains

Along with magnesium, whole grains also provide fibre, iron, and other vitamins and minerals. Dieras says that they can help lower the risk of heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes, and some cancers and also play a role in weight management.

Bananas

Bananas serve as a great source of magnesium, but they are also rich in potassium, which studies have shown has the potential to lower blood pressure and risk of heart disease.

Salmon

Salmon has always been one of the healthiest fish options and is a great source of magnesium(30 milligrams in a single 100-gram piece, to be exact). The health benefits are many. You’ll find that salmon can be helpful in decreasing inflammation and lowering high blood pressure.

The downsides

According to Asche, there aren’t any real negative side effects to consuming magnesium-rich foods (unless you’re allergic to them, of course). The only potential negative to magnesium intake would come from a magnesium dietary supplement. She explains that certain supplemental forms have a laxative effect, which can cause diarrhoea and other digestive issues.

“Not all supplements contain the active ingredients listed on bottles and the amount of active ingredients vary from low to very high,” says Dieras. “It is important to be mindful of the formulation chosen as different kinds of magnesium have different targeted benefits.”

How to track magnesium in your diet

How much magnesium one needs is dependent on each person. Asche says that the recommended amount of magnesium can range anywhere from 310 to 420 milligrams a day. If you’re pregnant or an active person who exercises at high intensities, she says that number may fluctuate

If you’re worried about not consuming enough magnesium, Asche recommends working with a dietitian who can help you plan your meals or using a food journal to track your diet. General signs that you might be deficient in magnesium include fatigue, muscle cramping, headaches, and nausea. Because these symptoms can be tied to other health issues, Dieras says going to a physician and getting a blood or urine test will best determine if you’re dealing with a magnesium deficiency.

A magnesium supplement is also an option to help you increase your intake. You’ll just want to be sure you’re taking supplements that have been screened for contaminants and look for ones that are third-party tested and can verify that you’re ingesting what is listed on the label. Also, be sure to check with your doctor or healthcare provider before incorporating any supplement into your diet to make sure it’s the right option for you.

EUR/JPY Forecast Today 30/10: Showing Strength (Video)

By |2024-10-30T16:24:19+03:00October 30, 2024|Forex News, News|0 Comments

  • The Euro initially pulled back just a bit during the trading session on Tuesday, only to turn around and show signs of life.
  • By doing so, the market is likely to continue to see a lot of noisy behavior.
  • I think ultimately this is a situation where the 164 Yen level underneath will continue to be a significant area of interest as it was previous resistance and now should offer support based on market memory.

Keep in mind that the Bank of Japan has an interest rate decision on Thursday, and this of course will have a major influence on what happens next, but the Bank of Japan has already admitted that it can’t do much as far as tightening monetary policy. So, I think you will continue to see the carry trade come back to life.

Carry Trade Continues to Drive this Pair Despite Euro Weakness

While the euro is not necessarily my favorite currency, it’s not as bad as the Japanese yen. And it’s worth noting that you are speaking of relative strength, not strength. Those are two different things. The market could rally to the 168 yen level above where I see a massive amount of market memory just waiting to cause issues. Right now that’s my target. With all of the noise between here and there on the charts and of course the Bank of Japan interest rate decision, I do think it’s going to be a very messy move to that level, but I do think it happens given enough time.

For what it is worth, the 50-day EMA is starting to curl higher, and it looks like it wants to cross above the 200-day EMA, kicking off the so-called Golden Cross. While I’m not a huge advocate of this signal, it is something worth noting for longer-term traders. I’m not a big fan of it, but that being said I know that a lot of the longer-term “buy-and-hold traders” will pay attention to it.

XAU/USD Analysis Today 30/10: Gold Up Pre-Data (Chart)

By |2024-10-30T16:17:28+03:00October 30, 2024|Forex News, News|0 Comments

  • Gold prices have risen sharply ahead of the US presidential election on November 5 and a series of key economic data releases due later this week.
  • Furthermore, price approached record highs earlier in the session as traders shrugged off easing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.
  • At the time of writing, gold prices rose to the resistance level of $2,782 per ounce, the highest in the history of the gold market and the closest point to the upcoming historical resistance level of $2,800 per ounce.

At the beginning of this week’s trading, according to gold trading companies, gold prices came under pressure as the Israeli attack on Iran over the weekend had a limited impact as it did not target any oil or nuclear sites. However, safe-haven demand for the yellow metal remains intact ahead of next week’s US elections. Uncertainty over the outcome, which will determine US policy for the next four years, has kept traders on their toes.

US Election Tension

The uncertainty surrounding next week’s elections could shape gold prices. Most opinion polls show former US President Donald Trump ahead of Vice President Kamala Harris. However, analysts believe the race will be close. Overall, the continued safe-haven demand stemming from tensions in the Middle East and US election tensions continues to act as a tailwind for the precious metal. Should Trump win, concerns over a trade war with China would increase safe-haven demand for gold. Moreover, Trump could also ease sanctions on Russia, while doubling them in Iran.

Economic Data in Focus

Traders are also focusing on the release of third-quarter GDP data from the US on Thursday. Additionally, the Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) index, the preferred measure of the US Federal Reserve, will be released on Friday, along with non-farm payrolls data. All of these data are due ahead of the US Federal Reserve’s policy meeting next week. If the data shows further economic slowdown, it could herald further interest rate cuts in the US.

Meanwhile, lower interest rates increase demand for non-yielding metals such as gold and silver.

According to the CME FedWatch tool, traders are pricing in a 95% chance of the US Federal Reserve cutting interest rates by 25 basis points at its November meeting. At its September meeting, the Fed cut rates by 50 basis points, surprising the market.

Gold Price Analysis and forecast Today:

According to gold price forecast experts, gold prices are facing resistance at $2,770-2,775 per ounce. If prices break above $2,775 per ounce, the yellow metal could rally to $2,800 per ounce after that. Overall, COMEX gold prices have gained more than 30% since the beginning of this year. However, the Relative Strength Index (RSI) on the daily chart is about to break into the overbought zone and warrants some caution from bulls. Therefore, it would be wise to wait for some near-term neutrality or a modest pullback before placing any further discretionary move in the near term.

Kemin spotlights new FloraGLO and OPTISHARP lutein and zeaxanthin study results at SupplySide West

By |2024-10-30T14:53:50+03:00October 30, 2024|Dietary Supplements News, News|0 Comments

Kemin Industries is currently exhibiting at this year’s nutraceutical, dietary supplement and functional food-focused event, SupplySide West.

At the event, Kemin is showcasing its ingredient solutions that are designed to support key health areas, including gut health and digestion, women’s health and children’s health.

As well as exhibiting its product range, Kemin is sharing details on its most recent trial, which evaluated the safety and efficacy of FloraGLO Lutein and OPTISHARP Natural Zeaxanthin in both mothers and infants.

This clinical trial was the first NIH-funded study to look into lutein and zeaxanthin supplementation for both maternal and infant health.

Published in Opthalmology Science in September 2024, findings revealed a significant increase in carotenoid levels from supplementation in both mothers and their newborns.1

This suggests that the nutraceutical combination could significantly benefit the eye health of both mothers and infants — bolstering its position as a prenatal supplement.

FloraGLO also demonstrates efficacy in LuTEEN study

As well as being effective in mother and baby, FloraGLO has been proven to benefit the eye health of teens in a recent study.

Experts at Kemin’s stand are on hand to discuss the topline results of the study.

Pound Sterling turns bullish as focus shifts to US data, UK budget

By |2024-10-30T14:23:45+03:00October 30, 2024|Forex News, News|0 Comments

  • GBP/USD holds above 1.3000 in the European session on Wednesday.
  • The UK government will announce the Autumn Budget.
  • The US economic calendar will feature ADP Employment Change and Q3 GDP data.

Following Monday’s choppy action, GBP/USD gained traction and closed in positive territory on Tuesday. The pair stays in a consolidation phase above 1.3000 in the European session on Wednesday as market focus shifts to key macroeconomic data releases from the US and the UK budget announcement.

British Pound PRICE Today

The table below shows the percentage change of British Pound (GBP) against listed major currencies today. British Pound was the strongest against the US Dollar.

USD EUR GBP JPY CAD AUD NZD CHF
USD   -0.26% -0.02% -0.21% -0.04% -0.30% -0.40% -0.09%
EUR 0.26%   0.25% 0.08% 0.23% -0.04% -0.13% 0.18%
GBP 0.02% -0.25%   -0.16% -0.02% -0.29% -0.38% -0.05%
JPY 0.21% -0.08% 0.16%   0.16% -0.10% -0.20% 0.12%
CAD 0.04% -0.23% 0.02% -0.16%   -0.27% -0.36% -0.03%
AUD 0.30% 0.04% 0.29% 0.10% 0.27%   -0.09% 0.22%
NZD 0.40% 0.13% 0.38% 0.20% 0.36% 0.09%   0.32%
CHF 0.09% -0.18% 0.05% -0.12% 0.03% -0.22% -0.32%

The heat map shows percentage changes of major currencies against each other. The base currency is picked from the left column, while the quote currency is picked from the top row. For example, if you pick the British Pound from the left column and move along the horizontal line to the US Dollar, the percentage change displayed in the box will represent GBP (base)/USD (quote).

UK Chancellor Rachel Reeves will unveil the Autumn Budget later in the day, which is expected to include tax rises and spending cuts.

Previewing the potential market reaction to the UK budget announcement, “Chancellor Reeves is expected to loosen fiscal policy somewhat and if she manages to pull that off and maintain credibility with investors, the GBP might benefit,” Scotiabank’s Chief FX Strategist Shaun Osborne said in a recently published report.

Meanwhile, the US economic calendar will offer the ADP Employment Change for October and the US Bureau of Economic Analysis’ first estimate of the third-quarter Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth.

Investors see the employment in private sector rising by 115,000 following the 143,000 increase recorded in September. Additionally, the US’ GDP is forecast to expand at an annual rate of 3% in the third-quarter.

The USD could stay resilient against its rivals if these data arrive near or above market expectations and make it difficult for GBP/USD to push higher. On the other hand, mixed or disappointing data releases from the US could help the pair hold its ground. Nevertheless, it could be risky to bet on a direction in between the US data releases and the UK budget announcement.

GBP/USD Technical Analysis

GBP/USD rose above the descending trend line and the pair closed above the 100-day Simple Moving Average (SMA) on Tuesday. Additionally, the Relative Strength Index (RSI) indicator on the 4-hour chart rose slightly above 60, highlighting a buildup of bullish momentum.

On the upside, 1.3030 (20-day SMA) aligns as immediate resistance before 1.3100 (round level) and 1.3140 (50-day SMA). In case the pair falls below 1.3000 (round level, static level) and starts using this level as resistance, 1.2970 (100-day SMA) could be seen as next support ahead of 1.2900 (static level).

Pound Sterling FAQs

The Pound Sterling (GBP) is the oldest currency in the world (886 AD) and the official currency of the United Kingdom. It is the fourth most traded unit for foreign exchange (FX) in the world, accounting for 12% of all transactions, averaging $630 billion a day, according to 2022 data. Its key trading pairs are GBP/USD, also known as ‘Cable’, which accounts for 11% of FX, GBP/JPY, or the ‘Dragon’ as it is known by traders (3%), and EUR/GBP (2%). The Pound Sterling is issued by the Bank of England (BoE).

The single most important factor influencing the value of the Pound Sterling is monetary policy decided by the Bank of England. The BoE bases its decisions on whether it has achieved its primary goal of “price stability” – a steady inflation rate of around 2%. Its primary tool for achieving this is the adjustment of interest rates. When inflation is too high, the BoE will try to rein it in by raising interest rates, making it more expensive for people and businesses to access credit. This is generally positive for GBP, as higher interest rates make the UK a more attractive place for global investors to park their money. When inflation falls too low it is a sign economic growth is slowing. In this scenario, the BoE will consider lowering interest rates to cheapen credit so businesses will borrow more to invest in growth-generating projects.

Data releases gauge the health of the economy and can impact the value of the Pound Sterling. Indicators such as GDP, Manufacturing and Services PMIs, and employment can all influence the direction of the GBP. A strong economy is good for Sterling. Not only does it attract more foreign investment but it may encourage the BoE to put up interest rates, which will directly strengthen GBP. Otherwise, if economic data is weak, the Pound Sterling is likely to fall.

Another significant data release for the Pound Sterling is the Trade Balance. This indicator measures the difference between what a country earns from its exports and what it spends on imports over a given period. If a country produces highly sought-after exports, its currency will benefit purely from the extra demand created from foreign buyers seeking to purchase these goods. Therefore, a positive net Trade Balance strengthens a currency and vice versa for a negative balance.

XAG/USD trades near $34.50, upside seems possible due to caution

By |2024-10-30T14:16:19+03:00October 30, 2024|Forex News, News|0 Comments

  • Silver price may regain its ground due to market caution ahead of the US presidential election.
  • Silver prices faced challenges as the Israeli PM Netanyahu may discuss a diplomatic resolution to the war in Lebanon.
  • The dollar-denominated Silver received support from a lower US dollar and Treasury yields ahead of US data releases this week.

Silver prices (XAG/USD) dips slightly to around $34.30 during the Asian trading hours on Wednesday. However, Silver gained over 2% on Tuesday amid ongoing uncertainty surrounding the US presidential election.

A three-day poll conducted by Reuters/Ipsos, which concluded on Sunday and was released on Tuesday, indicated that the race is essentially tied as the November 5 election approaches. Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic candidate, has seen her lead over Republican nominee Donald Trump narrow to just one percentage point, with 44% support compared to Trump’s 43%.

Silver prices might have encountered difficulties due to safe-haven flows, following an Axios reporter post on X that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is set to meet with various ministers and military and intelligence leaders to discuss a diplomatic resolution to the war in Lebanon, according to Reuters.

The dollar-denominated commodity, like Silver, typically benefits from a weaker US dollar and lower Treasury yields as traders exercise caution ahead of significant US economic data releases this week. A declining US dollar makes Silver more affordable for foreign buyers, which can boost demand for the precious metal.

The preliminary US Q3 Gross Domestic Product (GDP) figures and October’s ADP Employment Change are set to be released on Wednesday. Additionally, US PCE inflation and Nonfarm Payrolls will be closely monitored on Thursday and Friday, respectively.

Investors are also anticipating the upcoming meeting of China’s parliament, scheduled for November 4-8, as reported by state media on Friday. There is considerable interest in the gathering of the standing committee of the National People’s Congress, which is expected to provide updates on potential fiscal stimulus measures.
