First ‘Web3 Laptop’ Promises Cold Storage Wallet and Token Airdrop

By |2024-12-04T16:00:35+02:00December 4, 2024|News, NFT News|0 Comments

European computer company Metavisio will be offering what it is calling the world’s first web3 laptop with built-in cold storage crypto wallet along with other features—but it’s yet to have a name. The company plans to to release three tiers of the laptop, the company said, all serving slightly different functions.

Metavisio added laptop users will be rewarded with a future token airdrop.

The laptops, created by Metavisio’s daughter company Thomson Computing, are yet to have their specifications nailed down. All that has been confirmed is that it will have a “secure enclave chipset,” a security measure that Apple has adopted.

As the specs are still yet to be confirmed, the company’s predicted price range is quite broad. The laptops will start at €499 ($523) and run all the way up to €2,000 ($2,100). On top of that, this range accounts for three different laptops; one suited for education, another for gaming, and a final one for “everyday” use.

Stephan Français, Founder & CEO of Metavisio and Thomson, with a laptop. Image: Metavisio.

With details still to be confirmed, including the laptop’s name, Thomson is struggling to put an exact date on the Web3 laptop’s release. It confirmed to Decrypt that its proprietary operating system should be completed by Q1 2025, which would mark the start of development for the laptop’s prototype.

Cold storage wallets are considered safer than hot wallets, like MetaMask or Phantom, as they reduce the risk of being hacked. That’s because the private keys required to authorize transactions are stored offline. Ledger is the most popular hardware solution that comes in the form of an easily transportable USB stick.

Metavisio believes your laptop being your cold wallet is the next step. As such the laptop will have a cold wallet built into it that will support Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) networks, Bitcoin, XRP, and Bittensor—with more to be added in the future.

“The Web3 laptop is designed for a future where you truly own your digital experience,” Stephan Français, Founder & CEO of Metavisio and Thomson, told Decrypt. “By seamlessly unifying Web3 tools, we’re laying the foundation to empower the next billion users.”

The laptop’s operating system known as “Web3 OS” will look to optimize crypto-native experiences such as dApp integration, the aforementioned cold wallet, and reward users with tokens for specific tasks—akin to the play-to-airdrop mechanic that swept the industry this year.

It was confirmed that Metavisio will be launching a token and that users looking to receive tokens will have to complete a know-your-customer (KYC) process. Decrypt did not receive a response when asking what blockchain it will use or when the token will be rolled out.

Natural Gas Forecast Today – 3/12: Gas Rebounds (Chart)

By |2024-12-04T15:36:51+02:00December 4, 2024|Forex News, News|0 Comments

  •  This makes a huge difference, due to the fact that the futures markets of course have the most liquidity during the US session.
  • Furthermore, it’s worth noting that the contract that you are trading in is more likely than not a derivative of the Henry Hub Natural Gas contract, which reflects the price of natural gas delivered from Henry, Louisiana.

There is a cyclical trade to be had here, as it is typical for the winter months to bring in more demand for natural gas for heating. Most of the northeastern part of the United States uses natural gas for heating, or at least some type of other gas such as propane, so these markets do tend to move somewhat in tandem. Ultimately, I think you’ve got a situation where natural gas will continue to be thought of as a potential value play, at least on each and every dip.

The Cycle

The cycle will end sooner or later, but it is worth noting that the market participants out there will probably continue to push this market higher over the next month or 2. After a while, then you have to start looking at the futures markets that are pricing in spring temperatures, which obviously will start to warm up and therefore it makes a certain amount of sense that the market will start to fall again. This is something I do every year, and the share of course will be any different. The market had been somewhat straight up in the air for a while, so a little bit of consolidation between the $3.00 level and the $3.40 level, certainly makes a certain amount of sense. After all, the $3.40 level had been a massive barrier previously.

Ceasefire Potential, Trump Tariffs, and Inflation Rates

By |2024-12-04T14:23:19+02:00December 4, 2024|Forex News, News|0 Comments

Key Events

  • Israel-Lebanon Potential Ceasefire Deal for 60 Days
  • December 1 OPEC Meeting Anticipations
  • Japan’s Corporate Services Inflation rising toward 2.9%
  • Trump Tariff Policies supporting dollar strength against market trends
  • Japanese Inflation Metrics, including Tokyo Core CPI

GBP Outlook

UK inflation surged from 1.7% to 2.3% in November, but GBPUSD remains under pressure due to the Bank of England’s gradual interest rate cut plan. The dollar’s continued strength weighs heavily on the pound, alongside recent drops in manufacturing and services PMI metrics, which have fallen below the critical 50-expansion mark. This combination creates a strong bearish outlook on broader charts. However, key support levels outlined below may influence near-term moves.

JPY Outlook

For the yen, critical levels against the dollar are once again in focus, with BOJ intervention risks rising if the yen surpasses the 157 and 160 marks. Volatility risks are anticipated with key upcoming events such as the FOMC minutes, US Core PCE, unemployment claims, GDP, and Tokyo Core CPI.
As per BOJ Governor Ueda’s remarks, policies will adjust in response to economic developments. Notably, the services producer price index has risen back to 2.9%, near its yearly high of 3%, aligning with nine-year highs. This keeps speculation alive for a potential rate hike drift. Meanwhile, Tokyo CPI dropped below 2% to 1.8% in October, its first dip since May, and further confirmation from Friday’s data will be closely watched.

Oil Outlook

Ceasefire resolutions and escalating war headlines have fluctuated for months, with painful reversals on each deal attempt. The path toward resolving conflicts involving Russia-Ukraine and Israel-Lebanon remains uncertain. This uncertainty sustains upside risk potential for oil within the $72-$76 range until feasible solutions emerge.
The upcoming OPEC meeting on Sunday is expected to leave production quotas unchanged, reflecting risk assessments for 2025 demand-supply levels and weak oil price trends.

Technical Analysis: Quantifying Uncertainties

Crude Oil Forecast: Weekly Time Frame – Log Scale

Crude Oil Forecast: USOIL_2024-11-26_12-47-12

Source: Tradingview

While headlines can spur critical oil price movements, current price action remains bound within the $72-$76 resistance range and $68-$64 support range.

2025 Sentiment

The overall chart leans bearish due to risks from US oversupply, Chinese contracting demand, and OPEC production quota adjustments. However, unless there is a decisive break and close below the $64 support, upside risk remains present.

Scenarios

Bullish: A firm close above $72 and $76 could extend the rally to $80 and $84, possibly establishing a longer-term uptrend

Bearish: A firm close below $64 could drive the bear trend, targeting $58 and $49, continuing the decline since the 2022 highs.

GBPJPY Forecast: Monthly Time Frame – Log Scale

GBPJPY Forecast: GBPJPY_2024-11-26_13-44-03

Source: Tradingview

The GBP/JPY pair is currently exhibiting a bearish inclination, influenced by a weakening British pound and potential intervention by the Bank of Japan (BOJ) to support the yen. The 3-month price action is leaning towards bearish dominance, with an overbought RSI retesting levels previously seen in 2007 and 1998.

The overall breakout of the GBPJPY pair from the consolidating pattern across its history leans towards a longer-term bull run, yet a pullback down towards the borders of the consolidation may be possible.

The scenarios are the following

Bearish Scenario: a close below the 183-support zone can ignite a pullback towards support levels 172 and 155

Bullish Scenario: a close above the 208 high can extend the bull run towards potential resistance levels 223 and 251

Trump’s pick for FBI director promoted bogus supplements to ‘reverse’ vaccines

By |2024-12-04T14:21:56+02:00December 4, 2024|Dietary Supplements News, News|0 Comments

President-elect Donald Trump’s pick for FBI director, Kash Patel, promoted a supplement line this year that purports without evidence to help people “detox” from Covid vaccines.

Patel plugged the supplements in posts on Truth Social — the social media platform owned by Trump Media & Technology Group — in February and April.

“Mrna detox, reverse the vaxx n get healthy,” he wrote in one post, tagging the company Warrior Essentials and linking to its website. “Spike the Vax, order this homerun kit to rid your body of the harms of the vax,” he wrote in another. It is not clear whether the posts were paid promotions; they were not labeled as such.

Warrior Essentials sells what it calls a “Spike Protein Detox Protocol,” a set of up to three supplements that it claims, without evidence, will “undo the damage from the spike protein,” a component of the coronavirus. The mRNA vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna prompt the body to produce and fight an altered version of the protein to train the immune system.

Warrior Essentials is one of many companies that trade on unfounded theories about the dangers of vaccines, which have proliferated in the alt-right social media landscape since the pandemic — ideas that are not backed by science.

Patel, who was chief of staff to acting Defense Secretary Christopher Miller during the Trump administration, is among Trump’s most vocal supporters. He has leveraged his association with Trump to sell books and merchandise. Patel received $120,000 per year as an independent contractor with Trump Media & Technology Group, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing in June, as part of a contract that ended in March.

As FBI director, Patel would oversee more than 37,000 employees at the nation’s top law enforcement agency and a requested annual budget of roughly $11.3 billion.

A representative for Patel did not respond to a request for comment; neither did the Trump transition team.

Warrior Essentials told NBC News that it was “proud to have Kash Patel as a supporter and advocate.”

“While the so-called ‘experts’ who ignored vaccine injuries and pushed failed policies scramble to defend their narratives, we deliver real, science-backed solutions that have already helped thousands reclaim their health,” the company said.

Warrior Essentials says that its “detox protocol” “promotes the body’s own internal cellular regeneration process” and can remove toxins from cells, repair circulatory health and restore DNA stability. None of those claims are supported by scientific research, according to two medical experts.

“They can’t say with confidence that their product is going to do what it is that they intend it to do,” said Dr. C. Michael White, head of the pharmacy practice department at the University of Connecticut.

In the vast majority of people, spike proteins leave the body within a few weeks of a vaccine’s being administered. Like other vaccines approved by the Food and Drug Administration, Covid shots are safe, and serious side effects are rare.

What’s more, the experts said there is no evidence that Warrior Essentials’ supplements are effective at reducing vaccine side effects — which are mostly mild or moderate and tend to resolve quickly. No supplements have been found to do that.

Dietary supplements do not require FDA approval before they are sold, so their manufacturers have more leeway than producers of foods or drugs when it comes to health claims. Although the FDA can issue warnings and mandate recalls, it does not have the resources to track or assess every supplement available to customers.

“I tell my patients that any claim on a supplement bottle is a yellow flag,” said Dr. Pieter Cohen, an associate professor at Harvard Medical School.

He added that although some people have legitimate questions about vaccine side effects, a lack of regulation in the supplement industry allows some makers to take advantage of consumers by selling unproven products.

“The polarization of America and also the suspicion of science and medicine drive a lot of interest and attention into supplements,” Cohen said.

The couple who founded Warrior Essentials, Dave and Nancy Flynn, have said their son was injured by childhood vaccines in 2006, even though hundreds of large studies show that routine childhood immunizations are safe and protect kids from serious disease.

The Flynns have spread misinformation about Covid vaccines, including false claims that they alter people’s DNA and shed toxic substances that linger in the body.

The chief medical adviser for Warrior Essentials, Dr. George Fareed, is a senior fellow at the Front Line COVID-19 Critical Care Alliance, a group that promotes disproven treatments for Covid like the antiparasitic drug ivermectin. Neither Fareed nor the alliance responded to requests for comment.

A single bottle of the “detox” supplement containing 60 capsules (30 two-pill servings) is listed for $75 on the Warrior Essentials website. The set of three supplements marketed together as the full regimen sells for $150. The site suggests taking the pills for three to 12 months.

A list of ingredients on the Warrior Essentials site says the supplements contain a blend of enzymes, amino acids, vitamins, minerals and plant extracts — including chromium, magnesium, zinc and vitamin D. While some of those ingredients on their own may have health benefits, White said, it is impossible to tell whether they are useful — let alone safe — in this context. A blend of ingredients may have different effects from a single vitamin or mineral, he said.

Patel joins a group of vaccine opponents whom Trump plans to nominate to top government posts. Trump’s pick for health and human services secretary, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., founded a prominent anti-vaccine activist group and falsely said in a 2013 speech that a nebulous group of people, including vaccine scientists, were involved in a conspiracy to hide vaccines as the cause of autism and “should be in jail.”

Trump’s choice to head the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Dr. Dave Weldon, has also been an outspoken critic of the agency’s vaccine program.

Others — including Dr. Janette Nesheiwat, Trump’s choice for surgeon general, and Dr. Martin Makary, whom Trump wants to lead the FDA — have expressed skepticism or opposition to vaccine mandates, though not necessarily to the shots themselves.

Kennedy has also promised to end what he called the FDA’s “aggressive suppression” of vitamins and supplements.

XRP Reaches Extreme Risk Level

According to the risk chart of XRP, the asset reached unprecedented levels of risk. Significant market corrections have historically preceded such risk levels, which raises questions about whether XRP’s recent explosive growth can continue. Despite the undeniably strong momentum at the moment, the indicators point to a possible reversal rather than further upward movement in the absence of a consolidation phase.

Following an amazing rally, XRP reached $2.161, illustrating the price chart’s parabolic growth. The asset is now in overbought territory as a result of this upward trajectory, surpassing normal resistance levels. The overextension is indicated by the RSI being close to its peak. Sharp volatility is more likely to occur at these levels due to the high likelihood of profit-taking and the lack of significant consolidation.

XRP/USDT Chart by TradingView

Historically, when traders lock in profits and the market looks for a more stable price range, such strong rallies frequently result in corrections. Technically speaking, XRP’s main support levels are located at $2.00 and $1.80. These levels might act as safety nets in the event of a decline, offering prospective points of entry to buyers who are holding out. However, if the rally persists and XRP breaks above $2.75 with significant volume, it may indicate a further leg up, with $3 as a possible target.

Ripple CEO Issues New Statement as XRP Starts Approaching $3

Such a scenario would necessitate a significant increase in market participation, which is unclear given the risk profile at the moment. According to the provided risk chart, XRP is currently in a zone where market fervor typically declines and corrections ensue. Generally speaking, extreme risk is associated with greater downside vulnerability and less upside potential.

Despite defying expectations during this rally, it is historically unlikely that XRP will maintain this trajectory in the absence of a cooling-off period. Though caution is advised, XRP’s recent performance has been nothing short of spectacular.

At this point, the risks for those entering new positions are greater than the potential reward, even though a pullback might provide a healthier setup for the next move. Although the current rally is historic, it is unlikely to last forever without correction, so the emphasis should be on risk management for the time being.

Copper price could fall to $8 500 as Trump win boosts dollar, threatens demand

By |2024-12-04T13:36:00+02:00December 4, 2024|Forex News, News|0 Comments

SHANGHAI – Copper prices could fall towards $8 500 a metric ton within the next four months on expectations that demand will be hurt by potential trade disruptions when Donald Trump returns to the White House in January, copper industry participants said.

Benchmark three-month copper on the London Metal Exchange (LME) CMCU3 was traded at $8 915 a ton at 08:52 GMT, having shed 8% in less than 10 days since Trump won the US Presidential election.

The pressure on prices reflects heightened concerns around the impact on growth from potential trade policy from the new U.S. administration, analyst Nicholas Snowdon of Mercuria Energy Trading told the CRU World Copper Conference Asia.

Near-term prices are also being suppressed by the weight of inventory, Snowdon said, forecasting a surplus of nearly half a million tons in the first quarter of 2025 due to stock build-up during the Chinese New Year holiday starting in late January and demand weakness in the West.

“It is quite feasible that by March, we will be sitting on global cathode stocks of just over a million tons,” he said.

LME copper could fall to $8,500 by the end of the first quarter next year, most traders, producers, brokers and analysts surveyed by Reuters said during the annual copper industry gathering this week in Shanghai.

Others at the event said they expect prices to range between $9 000 to $9 500 next year, citing similar fundamentals to 2024.

A strong dollar, boosted by its safe haven status, will also make dollar-priced copper more expensive to holders of other currencies, said a broker and an analyst.

Citi analysts on Wednesday revised down their copper price forecast to $8 500 a ton within three months, from $9 500 previously, due to likely US trade tariff hikes and weaker-than-expected Chinese stimulus so far.

But prices are unlikely to fall below $8 500 because buyers would snap up copper at that level, which is more than 20% below the historic high hit in May this year of $11 104.50, a China-based analyst said.

Project Blue analyst Jonathan Barnes said LME copper prices could average between $9 300 to $9 400 over the next three months, with a near-term dip towards $8 500 possible as markets digest the implications of a Trump presidency, with 2025 prices seen averaging between $9 475 and $9 575.

In the longer-term, prices are likely to be supported by demand driven by possible Chinese stimulus moves next year, analysts said.

Copper prices are also cushioned by disruptions in mine supply, with analysts forecasting a deficit next year to range from 500,000 tons to above one-million tons, forcing smelters to cut cathode output.

CRU expects the copper price to recover to $10 000 by the end of March 2025 and potentially hit $15 000 by 2029, backed by energy transition demand and mine supply tightness.

“In the near term (there is) downside risk for price, but the structural story is not dead … and we do see that starting to prevail more through the mid-second half of next year,” Mercuria’s Snowdon said.

USD/JPY, EUR/JPY Sell-Offs Gain Steam

By |2024-12-04T12:22:47+02:00December 4, 2024|Forex News, News|0 Comments

JPY, USD/JPY EUR/JPY Talking Points:

The Bank of Japan is expected to release a policy review later this month, just a day after the FOMC rate decision, and JPY-strength has started to show more prominently against most major currencies.

In USD/JPY, the US Dollar hasn’t been very weak over the past few weeks, but JPY strength has started to take on greater prominence of late. The pair set a fresh high on November 15th as USD-strength drove after the U.S. Presidential election. Resistance eventually showed at the 76.4% Fibonacci retracement of the July-September sell-off; but a week later, as USD jumped up to a fresh two-year-high in DXY, USD/JPY lagged, setting a lower-high and building within the confines of a descending triangle formation.

I looked at that formation in last week’s webinar, just ahead of the U.S. holiday, and that formation filled in later that day and continued to see bears go to work as USD/JPY drove below 151.95, 150.77 and, eventually, the 150.00 handle.

And even today, to start the week, DXY is showing a bounce up to the 106.51-106.88 zone and USD/JPY is much less decisive, showing currently as a doji on the daily. This illustrates Yen-strength against the USD.

USD/JPY Four-Hour Chart

Chart prepared by James Stanley, USD/JPY on Tradingview

USD/JPY Daily

From the daily chart, we can see where there’s been quite a few inflections from the July-September Fibonacci retracement. The current high shows right at the 76.4% retracement, and last week’s support for the descending triangle was right around the 61.8% marker. The 50% level from that same retracement setup was support last Wednesday and then resistance to start this week, and that also points out the 38.2% retracement level as a deeper support, plotted around the 148.13 level.

But the bigger question is whether USD/JPY is an optimal venue to seek out that Yen-strength as the US Dollar has been strong against many currencies recently, especially the Euro which is back below the 1.0500 handle.

USD/JPY Daily Price Chart

usdjpy daily 12224Chart prepared by James Stanley, USD/JPY on Tradingview

EUR/JPY

While the USD remains very near recently-established two-year-highs, it’s been a far tougher road for the Euro.

I focused in on the difference between EUR/JPY and USD/JPY a couple weeks ago and at the time, USD/JPY still had bullish scope. EUR/JPY, on the other hand, had just set a fresh lower-low and was holding resistance at a big spot on the chart. There was also a relationship with the 200-day moving average, where EUR/JPY was trading below its 200-dma while USD/JPY and even GBP/JPY held above their own.

But since then, Yen-strength has returned in a big way and now all three pairs are now operating below their 200-day moving averages. As the descending triangle in USD/JPY broke down last week, EUR/JPY had even more steam as Euro-weakness was meshed with Yen-strength. And while the trend has been clean and aggressive, the pair is now showing oversold conditions on the daily chart, which can make it difficult to chase, at this point. Support is currently showing at the trendline projection, taken from August and September swing lows.

EUR/JPY Daily Price Chart

eurjpy daily 12224Chart prepared by James Stanley, EUR/JPY on Tradingview

EUR/JPY Shorter-Term, Strategy

Oversold conditions on the daily chart do not necessarily preclude bearish continuation scenarios. It does make the prospect of chasing prices lower a bit more daunting, but a look at the trend over the past couple of weeks shows healthy two-way price action, and that’s something that can be tracked for those looking to take the trend-lower.

There was a support bounce around the 158.04-158.24 zone, and that remains of note as there hasn’t yet been a resistance test at that prior support. Inside of that, a Fibonacci level plots at 157.31 and that’s similarly of note, as that’s the 76.4% retracement from a major move that showed support at the 38.2, 50 and 61.8% retracements.

That 61.8% retracement of prior support is also of interest if bulls can stretch a pullback, and that plots at 159.10. Even the 160.00 level could be of interest and as I highlighted in the video, the key there would be bears defending the prior swing high at 160.34. If they fail to hold the lows below that price, then the prospect of a larger retracement or pullback move will look more prominent and at that point, bears will likely want to re-assess.

Bitcoin 2025 Price Prediction by Industry Experts

By |2024-12-04T12:17:17+02:00December 4, 2024|Crypto News, News|0 Comments

Well, those days are certainly over as Bitcoin edges closer to the $100,000 milestone.

A few years ago, normies laughed at Bitcoin as a mere fad. Well, those days are certainly over as Bitcoin edges closer to the $100,000 milestone. It doesn’t matter whether you’re an ETH Maxi, Solana soldier, formerly retired XRP Army member, or meme coin degen, the price of Bitcoin is ALWAYS important, as it strongly impacts all the other parts of crypto.

As 2025 approaches, experts, guided by a mix of optimism and caution, are forecasting the future of the crypto industry’s crown jewel.

Here are select Bitcoin 2025 price predictions from some of the world’s most respected finance, business, and tech voices. The forecasts are intriguing and terrifying as the experts are armed with data, charts, and a dash of crystal-ball wisdom. It’s a mix of mostly bullish and some bearish predictions.

The predictions are as wild and chaotic as Bitcoin’s price history since its 2009 Genesis Block. And that’s how the Laser Eyes brigade and crypto bros like it.

Join us in showcasing the cryptocurrency revolution, one newsletter at a time. Subscribe now to get daily news and market updates right to your inbox, along with our millions of other subscribers (that’s right, millions love us!) — what are you waiting for?

The current bull market is fundamentally different from previous ones, which ran on the promise of mass adoption. That moment is now finally here. Bitcoin has moved from being driven by retail speculation to being embraced by institutions and retail alike.

The first move happened in January 2023 when the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) approved the first-ever Bitcoin ETFs in the United States. As a result, major financial players like BlackRock, Fidelity and Vanguard are now providing institutional investors indirect access to Bitcoin via ETFs. It is safe to say that institutions have come to the party. The U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs attracted a record-breaking $6.2 billion in net inflows in November 2024.
Secondly, the emerging pro-crypto political landscape in the U.S. is shaping a more supportive regulatory environment. While previous administrations have been skeptical, President-elect Donald Trump wants to make the U.S. the crypto capital of the world and even create a Bitcoin Strategic Reserve. Additionally, the Trump administration reportedly plans to shift crypto regulation from the SEC to the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).

If anything, the market has responded with a welcome pump, prompting experts to give their bullish predictions, along with a dose of caution.

Remember Coinbase ex-CTO Balaji Srinivasan’s crazy $1 million Bitcoin bet in 2023?  It looked insane, falling 97% short of his target, but it was a wake-up call to the U.S. about the cost of ignoring crypto. Currently, most analysts feel that Bitcoin will range between $150K and $300K in 2025. But in crypto, what seems impossible today could be normal tomorrow. Who would have thought even a year ago that Bitcoin would be see-sawing between $90K and $99K?

Here’s who!

Michael Saylor, MicroStrategy founder: $100K by 2025, $1M Someday

Uber-bull Michael Saylor, who’s been accumulating Satoshis at a frenetic pace through bear and bull markets, is sanguine as always on the future of Bitcoin. He believes that it will never dip below $60K again, will top six figures by the time 2025 arrives, and will inevitably hit $1 million.

In a recent interview, Saylor said people will freak out each time Bitcoin crashes from $180K to $140K, and it’s normal. He compared price volatility to fire, saying Henry Ford put fire into carriages via engines and gave humanity wings. So, in short, volatility is a necessary element in Bitcoin’s growth.

Mark Yusko, Morgan Creek Capital: $150,000 in 2025

Mark Yusko predicted that Bitcoin will reach $150,000 in 2025, citing FOMO, rising investor interest, and network effect.

Tom Lee, Fundstrat Co-Founder: $250K in 2025

Tom Lee is known for his BTC forecasts and predicts Bitcoin could surge to $250,000 in 2025. He cites the shifting U.S. political landscape and potential government Bitcoin accumulation as key catalysts. He says these developments suggest Bitcoin is emerging as a legitimate alternative to traditional stores of value like gold.

Standard Chartered Bank: Close to $200,000 in 2025

Standard Chartered sees Bitcoin hitting $200,000 by 2025, comparing it to gold’s historic ETF-driven price surge. The bank expects massive inflows into Bitcoin spot ETFs to drive this growth, similar to gold’s 4x price increase after its first ETF launch.

Alliance Bernstein, Global Asset Management: $200K by September 2025

AllianceBernstein predicts Bitcoin will hit $200,000 by September 2025, citing the bull cycle in the crypto market. The reasons for their bullish projection include increasing institutional adoption, growing mainstream acceptance, and the 2024 Bitcoin halving event which historically triggers price appreciation.

The firm has made more bullish predictions but on longer timeframes. They claim Bitcoin will potentially reach $500,000 by 2029 and over $1 million by 2033.

InvestingHaven Precious Metals & Crypto Forecasts: $115,200 in 2025

Tim Draper, Venture Capital Investor: $250,000 in 2025

Legendary crypto investor Tim Draper believes Bitcoin will reach $250,000 in 2025. He had previously predicted that BTC would reach the same price in 2022 before revising it to 2025. Draper went on to call Bitcoin cheap as it trades near $100,000.

Matthew Sigel, Head of Research at Van Eck: $180,000 in 2025

Sigel predicts we’ll see new heights for Bitcoin, similar to previous cycles, thanks to the state change in the cabinet. He says the Trump effect will see Bitcoin hit $180,000 or more in the next year according to Van Eck’s price cycle.

Sminston With, Bitcoin Research: $275,000 on Nov. 1, 2025

Predicting the price of Bitcoin is one thing, but predicting the actual date when it hits the forecasted target is another. Bitcoin researcher Sminston With has used quantile regression to predict the cycle top, which according to him, will arrive on Nov. 1, 2025, when Bitcoin reaches  $275,000.

Cathie Wood, Ark Invest CEO & CIO, $1 Million in 2030

Tech investor Cathie Wood believes Bitcoin will reach $650,000 in 2030. She added that it will climb as high as $1.5 million if the conditions are conducive.

Bullish Bitcoin Predictions With No Specific Dates

Not everyone is throwing caution to the wind. Here are some experts who have toned down their Bitcoin expectations going into 2025.

InvestingHaven: $75,000

Investing has given predictions for both bullish and bearish scenarios. The forecasting platform thinks Bitcoin could drop to $75,000.

Robert Kiyosaki, Businessman & Author: $60,000, then $250,000

Robert Kiyosaki is not letting the excitement and market euphoria get to his head. He predicts there will be a bloodbath, with Bitcoin tanking to $60,000 in 2025 before teleporting to $250,000 in the same year.

Experts are generally bullish, leaning on Bitcoin hitting the $200K mark. This optimism is bolstered by recent pro-crypto regulatory developments in the U.S., which have significantly influenced the current market rally. If Trump delivers on his campaign promises, the whole sector will solidify its gains.

However, it is crucial to remain cautious. The industry could suffer setbacks such as unfulfilled promises and other black swan events. As we move closer to 2025, investors and traders should be prepared for both scenarios. After all, Bitcoin and the crypto industry thrive on volatility, and all that sweet leverage flushing it delivers in return to keep markets in check.

CHF -0.65% -0.08% -0.27% -0.22% -0.12% 0.53% 0.40%

The heat map shows percentage changes of major currencies against each other. The base currency is picked from the left column, while the quote currency is picked from the top row. For example, if you pick the British Pound from the left column and move along the horizontal line to the US Dollar, the percentage change displayed in the box will represent GBP (base)/USD (quote).

The data from the US showed on Tuesday that JOLTS Job Openings for October rose to 7.74 million from 7.37 million in September. This reading came in above the market expectation of 7.48 million and helped the US Dollar (USD) stay resilient against its rivals, limiting GBP/USD’s upside.

Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey will speak at the Financial Times Live Global Boardroom at 09:00 GMT on Wednesday. Later in the day, ADP Employment Change and ISM Services PMI data for November will be featured in the US economic docket.

Investors expect the private sector employment to rise by 150,000. A positive surprise, with a reading at or above 200,000, could boost the USD with the immediate reaction. On the other hand, a print below 100,000 could revive concerns over worsening conditions in the labor market and hurt the USD.

In the American session, Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell will participate in a moderated discussion at the New York Times DealBook Summit, starting at 18:45 GMT. The CME FedWatch Tool shows that markets are currently pricing in a nearly 75% probability of a 25 basis points (bps) rate cut in December. In case Powell leaves the door open for a policy hold, the USD could gather strength against its rivals and force GBP/USD to turn south.

Pound Sterling FAQs

The Pound Sterling (GBP) is the oldest currency in the world (886 AD) and the official currency of the United Kingdom. It is the fourth most traded unit for foreign exchange (FX) in the world, accounting for 12% of all transactions, averaging $630 billion a day, according to 2022 data. Its key trading pairs are GBP/USD, also known as ‘Cable’, which accounts for 11% of FX, GBP/JPY, or the ‘Dragon’ as it is known by traders (3%), and EUR/GBP (2%). The Pound Sterling is issued by the Bank of England (BoE).

The single most important factor influencing the value of the Pound Sterling is monetary policy decided by the Bank of England. The BoE bases its decisions on whether it has achieved its primary goal of “price stability” – a steady inflation rate of around 2%. Its primary tool for achieving this is the adjustment of interest rates. When inflation is too high, the BoE will try to rein it in by raising interest rates, making it more expensive for people and businesses to access credit. This is generally positive for GBP, as higher interest rates make the UK a more attractive place for global investors to park their money. When inflation falls too low it is a sign economic growth is slowing. In this scenario, the BoE will consider lowering interest rates to cheapen credit so businesses will borrow more to invest in growth-generating projects.

Data releases gauge the health of the economy and can impact the value of the Pound Sterling. Indicators such as GDP, Manufacturing and Services PMIs, and employment can all influence the direction of the GBP. A strong economy is good for Sterling. Not only does it attract more foreign investment but it may encourage the BoE to put up interest rates, which will directly strengthen GBP. Otherwise, if economic data is weak, the Pound Sterling is likely to fall.

Another significant data release for the Pound Sterling is the Trade Balance. This indicator measures the difference between what a country earns from its exports and what it spends on imports over a given period. If a country produces highly sought-after exports, its currency will benefit purely from the extra demand created from foreign buyers seeking to purchase these goods. Therefore, a positive net Trade Balance strengthens a currency and vice versa for a negative balance.
